Bug report: rsync does not always discriminate upper and lower case
Hi,
I found this surprising behavior with rsync (version 2.5.7 protocol
version 26) on Mac OS X (Panther, 10.3.2) :
Suppose you have a folder "Source" containing a file named "abc", and its
backup as folder "Clone", created by rsync :
rsync -a ~/Desktop/Source/ ~/Desktop/Clone
Now change the name of file "abc" into "ABC" and re-sync :

I seem to be sitting with an interesting situation where by I need to copy mail from Exchange to dovecot (Maildir)

UK Caller ID - todays CVS update knocks out a channel
I've updated to the latest CVS as of today (and rebuilt RedHat 9).
My setup is as follows:
Wildcard X101P - channel 1
TDM400P - channels 2-3 - fxs cards with fxo signalling, channels 4-5 - fxo cards with fxs signalling
I got CallerID to work on channel 4 with an old CVS, despite the usual "Didn't finish CallerID spill" message.
However, as soon as I insert the following

Problems compiling libraries with todays snapshot.
I am currently running Slakware V3.4 with g77 and R is a 0.62 snapshot of the 27th of May.
There appear to be linking problems with the libraries.
The error output from mva and eda can be found below.
My own libraries also have similar problems.
Errors when compiling mva:

Problems running HL with todays wine snapshot
Hi,
I tried to get HL running with Wine, but some problems occured:
With fresh HL-Installation it keeps asking me for the HL-CD even if I
mounted it correctly. Drive setup of wine is correct (isn't complaining
about a missing drive)
I read that installing 1.1.0.8 helps, so I did, but with this patch HL is
not even starting, errormsg is
There may be more fonts available - try increasing the

Index vectors get overwriten ?!
Hello,
For some analysis of a mesh structure I need to prepare several vectors
of indexes of different length. This is done by the following code
sequence (including diagnostic output):
#--------------------------------------------------
MT_ind <- which(V1.frame[,2] %in% mm[,1])
print("M_ind")
str(M_ind)
Q1_ind <- which(V1.frame[,2] %in% mq1)
print("Q1_ind")

lines(lowess()) trouble
hi: apologies for taking up everyone's time. my problem is probably
documented somewhere, but I again cannot find it. (which reminds me: I cannot
find a search engine that allows me to search the archives of this very useful
mailing list.)
* it seems that lines(lowess()) fails to plot certain line segments. (and,
what does it do at the x-min and x-max of a data set?) Rather than

No CRLF in Pigeonhole's header?
Hello,
I have been told on Freenode's #dovecot to ask here. I have Exim 4.92
complaining about "Non-CRLF-terminated header, under CHUNKING: message
abandoned" with redirects made by Pigeonhole 0.5.5 (with Dovecot
2.3.5.1). Please find relevant part of the traffic below, and help me
determine whether Exim is correct on this.

List operations in R
hello:
I am very confused when it comes to list operations in
R.
I seek help in the following problem.
I have two different vectors
myIDs - a character vector with no names to their
elements
x2 - another character vector derived from unlisting a
list where an element has both a name and value.
I am not happy the way x2 is with names and values to
every element.

Problems with R2WinBUGS
Hello,
I am trying to use R2WinBUGS to conduct a mixed treatment comparison (MTC)
analysis. On the surface, it seems to me that I am following the correct
steps: (1) reading the data into R, (2) specifying initial values for the
parameters in the model and (3) fitting the model to the data using the
bugs() function in R2WinBUGS. However, I get the error message

Robust ARMA Fitting in R?
Hello, BODY { font-family:Arial, Helvetica,
sans-serif;font-size:12px; }
Does any one know if there are any functions/packages available in R
for robust fitting of ARMA time series models (e.g., similar to the
function arima.rob() in S-PLUS)?
Many thanks and kind regards,
