Testing pop3/imap4 and mdbox corrupted indexes?
I have two questions: 1. What method/tool (other than a MuA) can I use to test my Dovecot setup from Windows CLI when ssl is enabled? I have tried connecting to to the pop3/imap4 services from a Windows PC but here is what I get: [pop3] +OK Dovecot-2.0-sis ready. user wash at domain.co.ke -ERR Plaintext authentication disallowed on non-secure (SSL/TLS) connections. Problem copying e-mails to IMAP - Dovecot 2.1.2
I have a situation where I need to migrate e-mails from Outlook 2011 (Mac) to Apple Mail. Having looked at all options, I have resorted to the, perhaps, most difficult way: Create folders on the IMAP server, copy e-mails into them from Outlook, connect Apple Mail and do the reverse. However, I have hit a wall. I am running Dovecot 2.1.2 on FreeBSD, with mdbox storage. In my first attempt, I have

Complicated For Loop (to me)
Hello, I'm trying to run a loop that will subset my data into specific sets by regions and by race/ethnicity. I'm trying to do this fairly compactly, and I cannot get this to work. A "simple" version of the code that I am trying to run is: names <- c("white", "black", "asian", "hispanic") for(j in names){ for(i in 1:9){

the patches are already in git master. I've pulled them into the mail/dovecot port. The dovecot guys/gals will release it eventually, but the port works TODAY. Filtering mails with sieve filters
Hello good people, I have dovecot- 2.3.7.2 (Ubuntu Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS) running fine. However, I have a hitch with mail filtering. Using SOGo as the webmail UI, I created a filter rule which resulted into the rule below: require ["fileinto"]; if allof (address :contains "from" "odhiambo") { fileinto "INBOX/Odhiambo"; } However, the test mail I sent

You might consider adding "stop;" after the fileinto, otherwise a second match might process the message again, moving it elsewhere, etc. Tom. Weird DISKS behaviour on 4.8-STABLE
Hello people, I have been experiencing a weird problem with 4.8-STABLE for a long time. I was ignoring it, thinking that it was a problem with the SCSI disks or perhaps the contoller. I changed the disks from the original Intel box to a Compaq box and I still noticed the problem was there. What happened is that all of a sudden, the disk would 'fill' up with nothing! Yes, that's true.
