(userdb/ldap) Set home dovecot variable - How?
Dovecot version dovecot-1.0.rc14-7 (opensuse)
Postfix is using Dovecot LDA.
I'm getting this error message, and I guess it's going to be a problem on my next task, which is to set up sieve scripts.
Is there something wrong/contraditory on my config or I forgot something? I want:

Re: Different printer drivers ...
Greetings,
I've now received private e-mail saying that others have seen this problem,
sent e-mail to this list and received no answers. That ultimately, they
ended up altering their Windows clients to use LPR instead of Samba.
Is this really something that a genuine MS Windows server can handle and
Samba cannot?
Does anybody know when these other drivers stopped working well and what

R socket communication
Hello, I tried to code a R socket server but I did not succeed.
The problem is that once the R socket server is created,
I call the readLines function and then R gets blocked.
The client seems to work fine since I tested it with a PERL server.
I tried many combination of params in the socketConnection but
none of them worked.
I have seen some examples where the server sends something to a

Question on setting up dovecot
Many thanks to Joseph Tam and Steffen Kaiser for pointing me to the logging
information that I should have been using in the first place. Now that
I have separate log files and debugging information, I'm still at a loss
to see why the mail is not being pulled over from the Linux system to the
Windows 7 machine. To recap, here is the output from doveconf -n:

dsync / doveadm sync problem
Hi,
I had an old dovecot server with a working backup script.
Basic concept was:
- to dsync to a temp folder
- using tar to preserve datetime
- piping this 7z to benefit from my 16 core cpu
- piping this through openssl to encrypt
Over time the size of all my mail grew from 3GB to about 70GB.
I used to keep the last 14 backups, but this uses a lot of space.
I now want to dsync my

Patch for logging variables
Upon thinking, the variable names may not be descriptive enough as
`host` is a bit ambiguous and `deleted_count` may refer to a different
command than expunge in imap and may be valid to track at some point
so I have changed `host` to `client_ip` and `deleted_count` in imap to
`expunged_count`, below is the modified diff for version 1.2.11.

Trouble redirecting traffic on transparent bridge.
I have posted this question to the netfilter mailing list along with #ebtables, #iptables, and #netfilter. Nobody has really responded, so I''m led to believe
that it is either incredibly complicated or *really* simple. Please, somebody throw me a bone here! Ok, on with the show...
I have a bridge (br0) with two interfaces (eth1 and eth2). Neither br0, eth1, or eth2 have an

Port forwarding problems
I am running Xen on a RHEL4 dom0 and have two RHEL4 domU''s. The domU''s are
both running Oracle 10g R2 database. I want to connect to these databases
from another computer. Xen is set up with NAT network and all dom''s have
access to the internet and they can ping eachother so the network is up and
running. My problem is that I cannot connect to the different oracle

What could cause an "unclean shutdown" of process?
Hello everyone,
I've been experiencing many problems recently with windows software parsing
large text files stored on a samba share (smb version 3.6.3 on
ubuntu12.04). The software, which are running on windows XP stations, are
crashing quite often.
I notice this in the log.smbd at the time of the crash:

Joining 4.2.2 Samba client to Samba3 PDC
Hi,
Not sure of the etiquette of this, so apologies if this is frowned upon,
but a couple of months ago, this[1] question was asked.
I'm trying to join a Samba 4.2.2 server to a Samba 3.4.7 PDC (e.g. Think
NT4, not AD), which is also our OpenLDAP principal server. I'm failing
because, although my "net rpc join" command seems to succeed, and the
host entry is added to the

DW_TAG_member extends beyond the bounds error on Linux
Hi,
While dogfooding our lldb based IDE on Linux, I am seeing a lot of variable
evaluation errors related to DW_TAG_member which prevents us from release
the IDE. Can anyone help to confirm if they are known issues? If not, any
information you need to troubleshoot this issue?
Here is one example:

data retention and e-discovery rules
Hello All,
I am in the United States where we have e-discovery rules. Some
organizations have to retain data for a certain amount of time, others
are required to have a data retention policy.
This means that while it should probably be possible for a user to
"delete" an email so they do not see it. The server needs to store it,
possibly in a tree that mirrors the folder setup of

krbtgt user not showing aes types
I have found source4/scripting/devel/chgtdcpass for adding the aes types
to machines. I know you have to change the password of normal users.
How do you fix this for krbtgt? Can you just change the password? Is
there a recommended method?
Thank you for any help,
Trever

I know that sieve doesn't do math. The file would be created externally.
Based on examples in section 4.4 of
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5260#section-4
I figured something like this would work.
if date :value "le" :originalzone "date" "date" "2018-10-25" {
??????? fileinto "SPAM";
??????? stop;
}
However, I get the following.
