Quota Issues
Hi All Is there a way to test to see if the dovecot quota settings are being applied? I'm doing this as part of troubleshooting. I have set up dovecot + quotas with squirrelmail and I am not seeing the quota graphs in squirrelmail but I am not getting any errors. Could someone please help me with this? THanks.

quota not working on delivery
Hi, I am using the Debian dovecot packages and the deliver LDA from postfix, all version 1.0.beta8. My problem is with quota support, I am using Maildirs. The relevant configuration stuff is included at the bottom of this email. Quota support seems to work with IMAP. However, even when IMAP complains about an account being over quota, the deliver LDA still happily writes new mail to the (correct)

quota calculating
Hey everyone, Currently where I work we use qmail. Every time a message is delivered, qmail seems to walk through the user's entire maildir in order to calculate quota usage. Delivering messages simultaneously to just a few users who are allowed large maildirs (1-2GB) will bring our servers to their knees. Which brings me to dovecot. I use dovecot whereever I can, but haven't yet

quota percents
I've noticed that http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Quota/Configuration is out of date, it says: plugin { quota = maildir:User quota quota_rule = *:storage=1GB # 10% of 1GB = 100MB quota_rule2 = Trash:storage=10%% # 20% of 1GB = 200MB quota_rule3 = Spam:storage=20%% } but if you use the '10%%' notation, dovecot complains, and *also* incorrectly: dovecot: imap(test at

warning regarding quota and mboxes
Hello! We drive mboxes and maildirs and the dovecot-server is running very well and everthing is fine, but I get the following warning in the dovecot-lda-errors.log when a mail is delivered to a mbox. quota recalc problem for big maildirs
hi, we use dovecot 2.2.13, and we've lately started using maildir quota (previously fs quota was used, right now it's "quota = maildir:User quota" changed from "quota = fs:User quota:user:inode_per_mail"). When the change was applied we didn't manually forced generating maildirsize files. So, when the first deliver happens (or the file grows larger then 5KB)

Hi All Just a quick question. Is it possible for the postmaster to get an email when a user goes over quota or is close to it? That is, aside for using the same script used to alert the user?

QUOTA Imap Extension
Hi - long time lurker, very rare poster I understand Dovecot's support for mbox quotas is - well, not quite there yet. But I actually am not asking about that. I use vpopmail and qmail and Maildirs and was wondering about the QUOTA imap extension, which allows IMAP clients to query their quota settings. The reason I need to know about this is that I have a mailserver with a chunk of

XFS quotas not working at all (seemingly)
Hi All, I have a very strange problem that I'm unable to pinpoint at the moment. For some reason I am simply unable to get xfs_quotas to report correctly on a freshly installed, fully patched CentOS 6 box. I have specified all the same options as on another machine which *is* reporting quota LABEL=TEST /exports/TEST xfs inode64,nobarrier,delaylog,usrquota,grpquota 0 0 xfs_quota -xc

POP3 quota trouble

In the "protocol imap { }" section, I have enabled the following 2 plugins: imap_quota quota In the "plugin { }" section, I have configured the following: quota = maildir imap_quota = maildir This all works well, and if I use IMAP, Dovecot correctly updates the maildirsize file in user Maildirs. However, I need

Quota plugin creates IMAP folder
Hi everyone, I have noticed recently that Dovecot creates lock directories under users' Maildirs which look like IMAP folders. This is bad since users will see IMAP folders that are not supposed to be there. In my logs I see dovecot: imap(...): Error: file_create_locked(/.../Maildir/.vsize.lock) failed: Is a directory The directory in question # ls /.../Maildir/.vsize.lock/ cur/

per user quota using LDAP entries
Hi List, This is my first post to this list so please be gentle :-). First of all, kudos to the developers of dovecot! Im trying to implement quota, and I followed the instructions in the wiki. My problem is the quota specified per user is not being honored, only the global quota setting. I do have an "quota = maildir:storage=204800" in the plugin area and enabled quota in the

Per User Quotas
HI All Asking for a little patience and a bit of help here. I'm using dovecot-1.1.3_1 with postfix and squirrelmail. I have implemented a global quota successfully. That works fine. I want to now implement per user quotas. So far I have read the howto in the documentation and searched several threads but can't seem to get it working properly. My LDAP server is Windows 2003 Active

Disk space usage with mdbox
Hello, I am using dovecot with mdbox+sis and I notice an ever increasing disk space usage since I converted mailboxes from Maildir to mdboxes. I have checked with a user and while it actually uses only 65K, his mdbox files on disk are more than 6G. The backup of his mailbox is just 64K. Any suggestions ? Below are some relevant commands: [root at mail ~]# doveadm quota get -u test Quota

Possible bug in Maildir++ quota?
While researching a possible bug in our custom-made Maildir++ expiration script, I found the following in src/plugins/quota/quota-maildir.c. | static const char * | maildir_list_next(struct maildir_list_context *ctx, time_t *mtime_r) | { | [...] | *mtime_r = st.st_size; | return str_c(ctx->path); | } As far as I unterstand, this seems incorrect, because the value in mtime_r is
