scalability and arhive ideas
Hi,
I?m reading the past topics related to archive and scalability of dovecot,
they are all very interesting. Here, I?m using two dovecot proxies in
front of five storages pairs, and we split the domain?s accounts among
those servers. So, we can share the i/o load and if one server goes down
only few accounts of the domain stops (not all of them).
But, we began to have space problems - and the

nosql (it was mogilefs)
Yes,
I?ve read these doc. I was just considering if someone had any experience with Mogile in email environment.
Well, actually I?m trying to figure out if one of those nosql systems can store and scale email systems (ie, mailboxes - instead of maildir). I know mysql is always quoted as an option and discussed sometimes in the list. I think it?s an unnecessary overhead and bottleneck.

Mail archive
Hi,
I?m using dovecot at our storages, accounts is distributed among many
storages (not entire domain), all of them with compression (when message >
30Kb), nightly crontab script.
Even though compression and many storages, we always have problems with
disk space and need to migrate accounts.
Have you ever implemented any archive solution working with dovecot ?

imapc and imap_acl
Hello (Timo),
yes, I know... maybe it's a bit far fetched, but I do have a use case.
Would it be (reasonably easily) possible to implement IMAP ACL
support for "imported" imapc namespaces/mailboxes?
There is no local directory (like with the virtual plugin) yet...
Greetings,
Lutz

maildrop index update
Hi,
I?m using a multi-storage architecture in my email environment and
maildrop as deliver command at mta. But to this deliver the mx servers
mount nfs partitions - we need to use maildrop because many patches we
inserted.
How can I insert a piece of code at maildrop allowing it to update the
dovecot indexes (which lib and/or function from dovecot I need to use ?)
Best Regards,

lmtp server
I believe that dovecot lmtp server will be released with 2.0 version.
I working at a project that requires an lmtp server to have scalability.
How about the stability of the actual version (alpha, beta ?). Is it
mature to be used at production environment ?
Another question, my 'ideal' setup would be to receive a message by lmtp
and delivers it to an external command (like maildrop).

bzip2 compression bug
Hi,
I compressed many files using bzip2, but in some cases it crashes. I
believe that it is related to dovecot indexes.
How to reproduce:
Inside a Maildir folder without any indexes yet, compress a message with
bzip2 and tryes to access it.
At my server is showed the error:
Jun 24 00:18:20 maildev dovecot: IMAP(xxx at xxx): FETCH for mailbox Trash

NX problems with centos 4.4
Hi,
using centos 4.4, and freenx-0.5.0-10.c4 and nx-1.5.0-1.centos4 on a 8 CPU Amd Opteron
system.
If I access this system by nxclient-1.5.0 from some workstation (FC6)
with Gnome desktop, then after a successful login the X11 windows have
no windowmanager frame, so a handling of the X11 windows is very difficult.
This effect does not appear when acessing the centos system by xdm.
Is this a

AD: Password problem?
Hello
I can do wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g to see users and groups from our
domain.
But if I do getent passwd I only see local passwords (and acessing the
shares from a winxp machine failes with incorrect name/password).
What can be wrong?
Thanks,

win98 and samba servers
I am new to this list, so excuse me if this is a duplicate question.
I am trying to access a directory which is password protected for a
username in /etc/passwd and shadow. Win 95 has no problems acessing the
directories using windows logon name as name and asking passwd for the
directory for that user name. When I upgraded to win 98, the directories
became inaccesible. I checked

Hello,
I can do simple, "yum install asterisk18-*" and it installs Asterisk and

Acessing Test Outputs for Writing to a Table
Hi all,
I am trying to write a script that will compute Kendall's tau for a 75 time
series (using the Kendall package) and will then write the tau and p values
from the Kendall test to a text file table that can be read into Excel.
I am having no problem calculating Kendall's tau and the associated p value
for each time series, but I am having trouble figuring out how aggregate the

Call recording and archiving
Does anyone have a good suggestion for a automated solution to record calls
on certain interfaces and easily archiving them in a way which is easily
matched against CDRs? Also can someone suggest the appropriate protocol to
archive the recording when the conversations are transpiring in ulaw.
Basically a nice cost effective trade off between CPU and disk space for
medium call load.
Thanks

[LLVMdev] Linking/archiving bitcodes with module asm
Hello,
I'm archiving a number of bitcode files via gold plugin based on LLVM 3.4.
When I find a thumbv7 bitcode with a couple of module asms, I get a
segfault in ARMAsmParser::parseDirectiveFnStart because getTargetStreamer
returns NULL. Frankly, I don't see how this is supposed to work because as
far as I understood LTOModule::addAsmGlobalSymbols only creates a
