constructing an lm() formula in a function
I'm working on some functions for generalized canonical discriminant analysis in conjunction with the heplots package. I've written a candisc.mlm function that takes an mlm object and computes a candisc object containing canonical scores, coeficients, etc. But I'm stumped on how to construct a mlm for the canonical scores, in a function using the *same* right-hand-side of the model

some problem with dovecot
hi, yesterday we switch to courir to dovecot the whole company. there is good and bad news. the good one that about 200 people use outlook and outlook works fine (after we make some registry hack to delete the INBOX form imap root folder, which was required for courier but not for dovecot). the bad news we try most of the thing before the switch except outself. since the whole it department use

shared/public mailbox doesn't exist
I have 3 servers running dovecot 1.0.10. 2 of them are configured with a shared/public namespace, but I'm having trouble getting it to work on the third, even with 2 working examples to go by. There's something I'm missing, and I'm hoping that someone here can see/tell what it is. I've created the maildir for sharing: # cd /home/vpopmail/domains/mydomain.com # maildirmake

Long Delay on Fresh Windows 7 Clients
For testing purposes, I am running Windows 7 on a VM (VMWare), reverting to "fresh install" Windows 7 frequently. This Windows 7 client, needs to access a share on a local Samba server (Samba 3.0.23a-1 running on Fedora Core 4). When I type \\sambahost\sharename, a prompt for the username and password will eventually appear (and let me authenticate successfully) but it takes almost

Asterisk 12.4 IMAP VM Issue - Can't move messages between folders
Hello all, I'm running into an issue with Asterisk 12.4 and IMAP voicemail. I have asterisk set up to connect to my Dovecot IMAP server and I can leave and retrieve messages from my inbox and old messages. However, I am unable to move messages between folders. I get a message from asterisk stating "Sorry the users mailbox can't accept more messages". Here is my setup: In

Mail migration troubles
Hello all, OK, I would really appreciate your help on this. I managed to do a pretty straight-forward and flawless migration on dovecot from one domain to another. However, I have this nagging problem with most of the thunderbird MTAs. When I try to delete some "test" messages I sent to make sure that everything works, it comes back with the following message on the bottom of the

Outlook can't see namespace folders
Hi guys i understand that you can't subscribe to the Prefix names of namespace folders right now with dovecot. But for instance if i user outlook express and it can't see the prefix name then it can't see the subfolders of that "prefix folder" either. So even though it can detect and see the subfolders it won't display them cause it can't see the "parent"

How do i translate the old default_mail_env setting?
Hi, First, I am new to dovecot. Before my Jan '08 meltdown, sendmail was sufficient. A friend set up dovecot and since things just-worked, I was happy with that. Now I have a new mailserver and what was installed nearly two years ago fails. My pal installed things in dovecot.conf this way: default_mail_env = maildir:~/Maildir but the new mail environment is too different to be

15' lag of an irregular Time Series
Hi everyone, I am new to R and I have a beginner's question on Time Series: I have an irregular time series that goes like this: TIMESTAMP PRICE 2010-11-29 12:29:28 25.255 2010-11-29 12:30:47 25.255 2010-11-29 12:36:58 25.230 2010-11-29 12:43:14 25.235 2010-11-29 12:44:18 25.235 The first column is the xts date-time and second the is the actual series.

reading and formating irregular time series for VaR
Hi, I am trying to read the following type of data from a .csv file to form an irregular time series object. I want to use it with the VaR package. How do I read it in correctly to an irregular time series object? irregular time series
Hello, Does R have objects to handle irregular time series data? For example, Splus uses the "its" object. I suppose I could write my own "its" function in R. Contouring irregular xyz data via TIN
Dear, I have XYZ data available in a MySQL database. I get it out, can plot the data with the plot() function, load it into a geoR datastructure. But what I actually would like to do is a simple contouring of the data based on a no Kriging interpolation such as TIN based. I know the first thing I shold do is interpolate a full matrix for the region I have my points for, then contour should

Easy acf and pacf for irregular time series in R
R: Is there an easy way to get the acf and pacf for an irregular times series? That is, the acf and pacf with lag lengths that are in units of time, not observation number. How to write output in a specific formate with irregular space
Dear R users: My question is how to write output in a specific formate with irregular spacing? Say that I have the following DF with three columns (A-C): A B C a10 100.0 212 The objective is to write an output file such that column A occupies 1-10 spaces aligned to the left, column B occupies 11-15 spaces aligned to the right, and finally column C takes 16-25 spaces

Help with selecting data from irregular time series {its} objects
If I understood correctly in irregular time series (its) objects, values are indexed by time stamps in POSIX format. But if I try to select the value of my time series corresponding to specific time stamp in the following way: x - its object i <- as.POSIXct("2006-05-19 15:30:00") x[i,] or x[i] or x[i,1] I get the error message: subscript out of bounds. If I use integers: x[1,1] it

plot contour map for irregular data points
Hello, I'm dealing with the following problem: I have a table with x and y coordinates and corresponding values of a mineral concentration, let's call it z. Can someone provide me a short step-by-step manual for the steps necessary to get a contour map? How to sort and interpolate my matrix to an equidistant grid which can afterwards be plotted by contour(x,y,z)? (e.g. fill the

Function to find boundary of an irregular sample?
Given a set of coordinates that form an irregular sampling area, is there an R function to determine boundary points (coordinates defining the limits of the area), either with or without user interaction ? # for example, given the following irregular sampling area, how could I define the boundary polygon? library(SemiPar) data(scallop) plot(scallop$longitude, scallop$latitude) Thanks. --Dale
