managesieve und virtual plugin error v2.0
Hello,
i have a problem with the managesieve plugin and a virtual namespace in
v2.0.
The managesieve plugin complains about an unknown storage driver virtual

recent problem or if it exists for a while, as i configured the
virtual namspace from scratch. (The virtual namespace itself is working.)

permanent flags (are very permanent)
Hello,
first of all i am not sure wheter this is a correct behavior according to the RFC or not...
Problem is, when i set a new custom permanent flag (e.g. testflag) and remove it afterwards, the flag still stays in the list of the permanent flags of this drawer even if there are no messages left with this flag set.
So the keyword list gets "polluted" with unused flags.

sieve fileinto rule (pigeonhole)
Hello,
i discovered that when a sieve rule "fileinto drawer;" tries to deliver
a mail into a non existent drawer, the drawer gets created.
This is neat, but is there also a way to automatically subcribe to the
created folder ?

Usage of director without LMTP
Hello,
we want to migrate our dovecot 1.2 installation to verison 2.0 and want
to use the director feature of version 2.
Currently we have a two tier archtiecture, with dovecot proxys and a
mailstore togehter with indexes on NFS. (With the common problems of
this setup...)
For the final setup we want to utilize the director for all protocols
(IMAP,POP,LMTP,SIEVE).

has anyone a running setup for LMTP proxy and the director service ?
pop3/imap/managesieve is properly working, but i have problems with
LMTP. I set it up as described in the conf.d/10-director.conf
From the user_db i get proxy=y and no proxyhost as described for imap/pop3
But lmtp is complaining about the missing host:

Different PROXY for IMAP and POP3 using LDAP-auth
--------------------------------------------------
For all non german speaking people:
Oliver asked:
In an old posting I've read something about different proxy hosts for
IMAP and POP3.
http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2008-July/031885.html
I've got the same problem and want to ask you, if there is a patch for
replacing [variable names in] pass_attrs.

imap support for attachement deletion?
Hi,
Does dovecot support in-place attachement deletion?
Mutt currently uploads a new message after deleting attachements. Is
there a better, imap way to do it?

managesieve proxy
We have dovecot on a pop/imap server working as a proxy to dovecot on
the backend storage servers. This is working fine, but the difficulty
is that if I use, for example, avelsieve in squirrelmail, it doesn't
know where to connect. I imagine the same problem would exist with
sieve-capable mail clients such as KMail, especially since the outside
world isn't allowed to connect directly to

proxy, managesieve and ssl?
Hello,
On a dovecot 2.0.14 proxy, I found that proxying managesieve works well
when using 'starttls' option in pass_attrs, but does not work when using
'ssl' option. The backend server is also dovecot 2.0.14; when using the
ssl option, it reports "no auth attempts" in the logs about
managesieve-login, and meanwhile the MUA, Thunderbird with sieve plugin,

managesieve proxy cyrus
Hello all,
I've configured a dovecot server in proxy mode. It seems to work well
but. I've tested managesieve with squirrelmail and it's working
correctly but I can't connect to cyrus sieve server : timsieved
Does anybody here have configure a sieve proxy to do this ?
Or is it a normal behavior and dovecot sieve proxy can't speak with
cyrus sieve ?
Thanks.

dovecot-proxy with managesieve, director and backend dovecot imap
hi all,
I've been tasked to add sieve/managesieve to an existing dovecot cluster
running 2.1.7 on debian wheezy which is made up of 2 dovecot-proxy hosts
as directors and some back end dovecot imap hosts all running the same
version.
My problem is that I thought to put the service on the director/proxy
hosts since they wouldn't have too much load on it, but when I do I get

We plan to test this using RHEL5 and maybe RHEL6.
As a storage we are going to use an HP EVA 8400 FC(8 GB/s)

Problem with managesieve proxy
Hi folks,
I'm setting up a new dovecot email service and have a proxy server running in
front of it to facilitate migrating users from my very old UW-IMAP-based mail
server to the new one.
I have a mysql proxy table that directs inbound IMAP and LMTP connections to
the correct server, works great. Managesieve connections are not working
through the proxy using either with the sieverules
