Crash: imap process, Dovecot 1.2.4, related to ACLs (backtrace included)
Hi,
I started experimenting with ACLs and found I could reliably and reproducibly
crash the IMAP process when trying to create a subfolder of a folder that has
has ACLs set. The folder is called "Sent" with an ACL of "owner lrwstipke". I
wanted to be able to have certain folders the the user cannot delete but where
subfolders can be created freely.

Default Posix ACLs not honoured
Hi all,
we are experiencing difficulties with posix ACLs using samba 3.0.28 on a
Debian 4.0 etch server.
The goal is to not let the Windows clients manage the ACLs but instead set
the permissions from the Samba server, hence smb.conf says "nt acl support =
no".
Problems arise when I have a directory with default permissions for a named
group, e.g.
# file: ACLTest
# owner: juergen

Expire plugin: wrong mailbox separators in database?
Hi all,
I'm experimenting with the expire plugin and seem have run into a small
problem. I am using Dovecot 1.2.4 on a test server. The config is taken
mostly verbatim from the expire plugin wiki page [1], using MySQL as a
database. See below for detailed output.
Namespace "private" has "/" configured as mailbox separator:

resource starvation against passwd(1)
Standard apology if old...
This demonstrates a resource starvation attack on the
setuid root passwd(1) program. In the case I tested it was the
Red Hat Linux passwd-0.50-7 program without shadowing.

When are you all going to make Samba compatible with CCC (Compaq

I keep getting the errors listed below. I was wondering, could please
point me in the right direction for a solution to this dilemma?

Shared Mailboxes Not Visible
OK, gurus, I've spent the last 2 days crawling through all of the posts
and web postings regarding shared folders, and I simply cannot get it to
work. I'm sure that there is something simple that I've overlooked, but
cannot for the life of me see it :)
Here's my current config:

Different behavior of ACLs in MUA and doveadm
I have noticed a difference in the behavior of ACLs. When used in a MUA the following global ACL works fine and has the desired effect - new mailboxes can be created by a user being part of the 'PublicMailboxAdmins' group:
[ global-acl: ]
INBOX owner lrwstiekxap
Public/* group=PublicMailboxAdmins lrwsipk
Public/* anyone lr
Public/* authenticated lrws

I am not sure I understand exactly what you are asking, but libavformat
has a RTP packetizer that works for both Vorbis and Theora, implemented
in rtpenc_xiph.c.

Group permissions not honoured by Windows clients
Hello, everybody.
I have a problem with group permissions.
On a Linux server (where I use Samba 3.0.28 under Fedora Core 8) there is the
"classical" share for home directories. And everything works just fine, as
always did, when I access my home directory from a Windows XP client.
In my home directory I have a symbolic link to another directory (that I do not
own, but for which I have

--timeout not honoured
Hi
I already wrote about this problem half a year ago but didn't get
an answer: http://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2009-June/023412.html
I'm using rsync 3.0.3 on a NAS. In the parameter list I use --timeout=1800.
But still I often have rsync stall much longer than that.
Some examples:
2009/12/14 23:14:35 [8707] io timeout after 11670 seconds -- exiting

Proxy settings not honoured anymore
Hi,
it seems that my proxy settings are not picked up by the R console any
longer, although the environment variable http_proxy is set and
exported.
Is anybody experiencing this issue as well?
Thank you.

Renaud

srv records not being honoured properly

_sip._udp.tollfree.sip-happens.com. 38400 IN SRV 20 0 5070 ares.sip-happens.com.
Why is asterisk (1.4.17) not honouring the priority and not failing over
