libvirtd using 11GB
Hi All, Am new to this list, and have asked in #ovirt / ovirt-users list and they pointed me to here ... I've seen libvirtd using ~11 GB of resident memory after the host has been running for about 60+ days with about 40 VMs running on it. Bind Issues
I'm running bind in a chroot environment. It seems that since the Redhat snafu which wrecked bind (yes, I had caching nameserver running as well but not anymore) I have been having problem with my slave nameservers retrieving updates from the master. Looking at the zone records, some are owned by root, some are owned by named. I'm now confused as to what the ownership should be and

Funny result from rep(...) procedure
I'm observing odd behavior of the rep(...) procedure when using variables as parameters in a loop. Here's a simple loop on a vector 'branches' that is c(5,6,5,5,5). The statement in question is print(c(ni,rep(i,times=ni))) that works properly first time through the loop but the second time, when branches[2] = 6, only prints 5 values of i. Any ideas, anyone? iInd = 1

All mail in mbox disappears when using Outlook
I thought I was imaging it but... I have a friend (honestly) that likes to clear his inbox every month by copying older into a folder (e.g. June-2009). Every month he complains that all the mail in the new folder has disappeared. This has happened three times now, and he's sort-of-right. I now believe it's a bug rather than him. The setup is Dovecot 1.1.3 on FreeBSD 7.0 and the client is

can puppet agent use 2 independent puppet master ?
Hi all, I havent seen a similar post, so thought I''d ask - Is it possible to make a puppet agent use 2 different puppet masters ? E.g. I want to use 1 master to do basic configuration changes, etc. and a 2nd master to do other more application specific changes - the idea is to keep the system changes fully separated from the application changes that would be applied. Any clues /

CD burning issues & questions
I have been having some strange results trying to burn CDs under CentOS. I don't think they are hardware related because I have had some success, in fact most of this usually works. I use k3b for most of my CD and DVD writing - it seems to work fairly well (well, except for wrecking my installation a few weeks ago when it crashed my installation and I had to reinstall to get it back, but

Q:Truncated Regression Model
Hi, Problem: I have the ususal linear regression model y=Xb but I cant observe y (expenditure for a particular good) for some y <c where c is fixed for all observations. But I can observe the corresponding covariates x (incom). I used the survivla5 library (survreg(Surv(y,y<c,type="left")~x) for a censored regression model (thanks again for this tip). Is there a way to estimate

expire plugin
Hello, I am testing expire plugin, with quota plugin enabled. When I execute expire-tool, maildirsize is not updated. Is there any solution to update maildirsize when executing expire-tool? # /usr/local/dovecot/sbin/dovecot --version 1.1.18 # /usr/local/dovecot/sbin/dovecot -n # 1.1.18: /usr/local/dovecot/etc/dovecot.conf # OS: FreeBSD 7.2-STABLE i386 base_dir: /var/run/dovecot/

mail_uid and mail_gid are not set in environment (for expire-tool and so)
Hello, I've just subscribed to the list, as a recent user of Dovecot (1.2.4 by now). I eventually missed a point, so I tried to find other doc or comments about my issue, but failed to. If the following has already been discussed, please simply reply with a URL to the corresponding thread or doc ;-) Now that I have covered my ass, here is the problem I meet. In dovecot.conf, I have the

Expire-tool does not delete duplicate messages (dovecot-1.2.17)
Trying to implement expire plugin. expire-tool works fine. This delete expunged messages but not all of them. I have duplicate messages in appropriate folder. These messages are from expanding postfix aliases (e.g. postmaster@, hostmaster@, abuse@ etc. points to same mailbox and spam often sent to all of them. If duplicate message is received only one entry in dovecot-uidlist is created and only

Expire Plug-in stopped
Good evening, While working with Dovecot 1.2rc4 on Fedora 10, I have been trying to get the Expire plug-in to auto delete messages for us. Reducing code size of Position Independent Executables (PIE) by shrinking the size of dynamic relocations section
A simple combination of delta-encoding and run_length-encoding is one of the first schemes we experimented with (32-bit entries with 24-bit 'delta' and an 8-bit 'count'). This gave really good results, but as Sri mentions, we observed several cases where the relative relocations were not on consecutive offsets. There were common cases where the relocations applied to alternate

TOO MANY ERRORS
Ok, I've tried wine with about 10 different aplications and it always returns SOME kind of error... and it closes... the only one I can run without ANY problem is DiabloII.... not even half life runs on wine... Using wineX didn't solve any problem.. in fact I think it it even harder... Any idea why wine won't work with virtually no game at all??? thanks a lot -- Alan Bort Linux
