Logging patch
Hi, I''ve attached a patch which fixes a logging problem with log_rule_limit in custom actions. E.g. this action: ,----[ Whitelist ] | if [ -n "$LEVEL" ]; then | run_iptables -N ${CHAIN}Add | log_rule_limit $LEVEL ${CHAIN}Add WhitelistAdd DROP "$LOG_LIMIT" $TAG | run_iptables -A ${CHAIN}Add -j DROP | run_iptables -N ${CHAIN}Del | log_rule_limit

Recommended tool for migrating IMAP servers

It is dreadfully slow -- I used it to export some of my users' mailboxes to Gmail or other remote mail servers, and I could almost cut&paste the messages faster. Like Aki

Recommended tool for migrating IMAP servers
Hi Friends, I would like to ask you a suggestion: I need to migrate a imap server to a new one and then dismiss the old one. Reading from relative Dovecot documentation page (https://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration), more tools are shown: UW-IMAP's mailutil, imapsync, YippieMove and Larch. The each mail servers are Linux based, one of this (mine) is Dovecot. Based on your experience which of

UTF-8 mailbox names in filesystem
Currently mailbox names are stored in IMAP's modified-UTF-7 format in filesystem. I was wondering about changing this in v2.0. The default would still be to use mUTF-7 in filesystem, but just adding :UTF8 or something to mail_location could enable UTF-8. Any thoughts? Could this be dangerous somehow? UTF-8 enables a lot of weird characters, perhaps no one really wants to see them on

Currently no Java for Linux-Mozilla on 4-Stable?
Hey folks, I was trying to install a jvm for the linux-mozilla port on 4-stable. 4-stable of yesterday (updated) and all ports of yesterday except as indicated. I am through all of them, blackdown-1.3, blackdown-1.4.2, checked out the previous blackdown-1.4.1, Sun-1.3.1 and Sun-1.4.2. Most of them have incompatible C++ interfaces to the current linux-mozilla, except blackdown-1.4.2, which

SJava still hates GUIs on Linux, both Blackdown and IBM... Can anyone verify IBM or Sun?
I've been having fun with crashes recently, both with Blackdown JDK and the IBM JDK, while building up the ROrca interface. It's just not stable for me, and my lack of grokking the intimate details of lazy evaluation is not helping. Brushing works, though, which is nice. I need a bit more stability before I get the "data add/change" features in line, though. Anyway, other

USB2.0/Firewire Enclosure
I (work :) bought a USB2.0/Firewire enclosure and I had a little trouble with it until I came across this page http://people.freebsd.org/~maho/USB/comment/ku350a.txt after trying the sysctl things work well. I haven't tried the USB2.0 side of it, as I don't have any USB2.0 controllers. The Firewire bit works great too (quite a bit faster than USB1 :) The enclosure in question is made

Syslog, Dovecot, and LogWatch
At what level does Dovecot log to syslog? UW-IMAP uses local6.debug to log to syslog, but it doesn't seem that dovecot does the same.. (the file I defined for UW-IMAP's output hasn't received anything since I moved over to Dovecot? Also, has anyone managed to get LogWatch and Dovecot to play nicely together? I noticed that LogWatch no longer gives any statistics on the imap

More verbose logging of POP transactions?
Hi all - I'm brand new to dovecot (0.99.14 on freebsd 5) and am just playing with it a bit. POP works just fine, but the only thing that shows up in my logs is this: Sep 7 11:46:25 freebsd5 pop3-login: Login: philip [10.28.61.200] Thought maybe syslog was quietly eating things, but told dovecot to use it's own log file and it didn't improve. Is there a way to turn on more

Thinking about switching from courier-imap to Dovecot: 2 simple questions
Hi, I'm using RHEL4 and since the dovecot RPM is present in the main repository, I'm thinking about switching from courier-imap (with whom I've got trouble to update) to Dovecot. Here are two questions about Dovecot (google didn't answer me): 1. Is it possible for dovecot to use the bind mecanism against ldap for authentification purpose. My main concern is to avoid the

A question of imap timeout exit
hello: I have a question on imap process: if a client connect to dovecot like foxmail(version 10) , dovecot will start at least 3 imap processes , and these imap processes will online until client logout , if the client not logout ,the imap process will always online. this is similar to the long connection and imap's auto logout timer is not effect in this case. now I have two

simultaneous access to folder
We have for many years been a UW-IMAP site, with users having their own traditional, private, mbox-format INBOX and folders: almost (but not quite) no complications of shared or simultaneous access. We have just completed a transparent transition to dovecot (official 1.0.0 release). But we have one residual issue affecting one important user account. UW-IMAP specifically only allows single

cross compiling (arm)
Hi. I'm trying to cross compile dovecot. My desktop machine is an AMD64 box with bells and whistles. The ARM based machine is a network attached storage box. When I run "make" always get x86_64 binaries. My OS is Gentoo, so I have been able to build using emerge a variety of other programs from source. What am I doing wrong here. (Gentoo doesn't have Dovecot for the arm) I

convert wu-imap Maildir format to dovecot
Hello, I intend to migrate a mail server with Maildir from wu-imap to dovecot imap. Using horde/IMP, users can not access their imap forders, as wu-imap created Mail directory that holds all created folders. Dovecot could not detect the mail directory so I had to put default_mail_env = ~/Maildir in dovecot.conf. Before I begin to read the source-code of dovecot or try to migrate the the

RH 8.0, Mozilla and help.start() - Deja Vu All Over Again....
Hi all, In the continuing process of dealing with the upgrades to Mozilla under RH 8.0 Linux (present stable release is 1.3) and as a result, the "breakage" of R's help.start() function, which is a java applet based search engine, I wanted to point out to folks some key points of information. If you are upgrading to Mozilla version 1.3 under RH 8.0 from an older version, even
