Fwd: Received dates problem in Outlook after migration
Having looked at this again, I think I have a hypothesis: 1. Outlook is ignoring the date/timestamps on the files in my Maildirs 2. The file names of my transferred files follow a similar pattern (they start with near-identical numbers) 3. Dovecot's file naming scheme for mails must relate somehow to the date that they were created / transferred / received 4. If I can therefore

Outlook 2003 and Thunderbird IMAP + getting new headers
Hi, We run 1.1.3 and I use Outlook to connect to my IMAP box and a couple of times per day (randomly) when I click certain folders IMAP will start retrieving ALL headers for that folder again ('retrieving new headers')! I don't understand this. What triggers IMAP to do so, why not just retrieve only the NEW headers? Is it Dovecot or Outlook (probably) and what can be done

Wrong dates in Outlook
Hello, We're migrating from Ipswitch Imail to Dovecot. There seems to be a problem with Outlook after converting the emails with mb2md and whole bunch of perl scripts to correct all the idiotic mistakes that Imail has made. Outlook will display the date and time of the conversion as the date of the message, rather than using the Date: header. The same does not occur in Thunderbird or

receive date wrong in outlook
hi, we migrate from exchange to dovecot. we do it with imapsync. first we try to do it with --syncinternaldates, but this fails on many messages with invalid date, so we drop this option. unfortunately after this those users who use outlook see the received date as the date we do the migration in stead of the real received date. other clients eg webmail, thunderbird etc sees the right date. so my

Outlook Duplicates issue is still killing me
Hi, I have one pop3 client who has three computers, and he has Outlook XP on two, and 2003 on the third. They are all set to leave a copy of messages on the server, and that causes a duplicate message for every message he gets. I then can tell him to uncheck the "leave a copy on the server" box, and pop his mail, and the duplicates will go away for two or three days, only to start up

Mailboxes not showing up in MS Outlook
Sat, 19 Jul 2014 15:03:03 -0400 I am not sure exactly where the problem is here. I am using a sieve script that sorts various incoming messages into their own mailbox. MS Outlook does not show those folders if they are not directly under INBOX. EXAMPLE: drwx------ 31 vmail vmail 1.0K 2014-07-19 14:46:55 EDT ./ drwx------ 3 vmail vmail 512B 2014-07-02 13:52:03 EDT ../ drwx------ 5

Outlook causes BIG dovecot index problem (beta 8, outlook 2003)
Hey all, Well, I typed up all the below, then managed to fix the problem before sending this to the list. I'll send it anyways, in case anybody else is affected by it (and because it does indicate a definite bug in Dovecot's experimental Kerberos support). The fix is to recompile without kerberos enabled, and to take gssapi out of the auth methods in the config (the latter alone

mail shown throught outlook, shows todays date
Hi all I seem to be sitting with an interesting situation where by I need to copy mail from Exchange to dovecot (Maildir) I used a mixture of solution (Moz Thunderbird, fetchmail and outlook) to copy and test the mail. The interesting thing is, once I have some mail on the dovecot, the date displayed on Mozilla is correct, but the mail shown throught outlook, shows todays date (thats for all

Samba members in NT4.0 to AD upgrade
Hi, I've got an NT4.0 domain that I'm planning to upgrade to Active Directory. I've got a couple of Samba member servers in the domain, various versions above 3.0. So I have two questions: 1. Are there any gotchas with this scenario or will the Samba clients just keep working as NT4-esque clients. 2. Is it possible to "upgrade" a Samba member server to be an Active

My sub-folder with Outlook work-around to date
Hi All, please be kind, this is my first e-mail to the list :-) I actively support CentOS based e-mail servers running Dovecot, Sendmail, Spammassassin and 3 x SOGo based setups. Dovecot is my goto IMAP server and have used it and modifications to it to net excellent results for years. Then we have people who insist on only using Outlook (and in some instances the MS Live Messenger thingy).

Kernel source package missing?
Hi everyone, I've been looking for the package kernel-source-2.6.9-34 (from 4.3) and I can't find it anywhere. In fact, the only mention to it I have found is on the RedHat errata (I also have the RHEL CDs and it is not there either). Where can I get it from? I wanna compile some packages and I need the kernel source. Thanks Gabriel

3ware SATA RAID Card
I've a 3ware Escalade 8006-2 and run Centos 4.2 using the latest kernel 2.6.9-34.0.2.ELsmp. I see that the card comes with some disk management tools called 3DM2 Management Utility. Is this ok to install? Is it good for reporting failed drives? Thanks Jon ___________________________________________________________ All New Yahoo! Mail ? Tired of Vi at gr@! come-ons? Not enough memory to run installer
I'm trying to install a game using Wine (Company of Heroes Multiplayer Beta), but when I try to execute the installer, I get the error: wine: could not load L"Z:\\home\\bratch\\CoHBeta_1_19_0.exe": Not enough memory Somebody on #winehq suggested I move it to ~/.wine/drive_c/, but this gave the same error. Date Received question
I migrated from Courier to Dovecot, and today I notice that all my "date received" fields in my client (apple mail) show as the approx date/time of the migration rather than when the emails were received from the smtp server. Is this expected behavior? I normally sort by received date rather than sent -- since I don't care when someone sends something as much as when i get

Received Date vs Date Header
I am trying to figure out why my mail clients are not correctly showing me the received date versus the date header date. I am using Dovecot 1.1B9. Here is a copy of the rawlog from Dovecot when I started up the client. Is Dovecot supposed to be sending the received date and the date header during this conversation? * OK [RAWLOG TIMESTAMP] 2007-11-30 16:48:31 * NAMESPACE ((""
