Status of OL / OB flapping with no real pattern
Hi, all - I've searched the archives, and although I've come close to finding a few things that describe my problem, I haven't been able to nail it down. Basically I've got 8 TrippLite SU3000RTXR3U's (Couldn't it be a simple model number, like "4UPS"? hah!), and when I tap in to them with nutc, I see that the status flaps back and forth between OL and OB quite

Perl modules not working properly when installed via yum?
Hello, all - I've been dealing with this problem for quite a while, and most of my solutions have just been dirty hacks. I'd like to find an appropriate solution. I've installed perl modules in the past via yum. Sure, they get installed - but none of my perl applications can find them. I know that this is a long outstanding issue, because I have yet to find a real solution. Since

Using Puppet's client certificates for Apache, SSLVerifyClient
Hi - I read up on this subject quite a bit, and was able to find a few posts on the mailing list, even found a wiki article. Unfortunately it doesn''t quite address what I''m looking to do. From what I understand, Puppet''s client/server authentication system - using SSL - is portable. I believe that I should be able to use the same SSL certificates and keys (and even

Via google: libtiff 3.8.2 http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/2839214/com/libtiff-3.8.2-2.x86_64.rpm.html This got me to a page all about libtiff 3.8.2 for 'Fedora other' and a link http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3?stat=3&search=libtiff&srodzaj=3 for other distributions. So which do I take? ?

Installing Dag's RPMs
Hello, all - I wanted to know your guys' success rate when installing and rebuilding RPMs in CentOS (specifically 4.0) that have come from Dag's Repositories (http://dag.wieers.com/packages/). I have noticed a number of these packages stalling at various points throughout an rpmbuild process, and I can't quite get it. It looks almost as if they were all built for RHEL4.0, but if

xen CentOS 5.2 domU install error: "Error mounting device xvda1 as /boot"
Hello CentOS Xen experts, I am attempting my first Xen installation. I have a Centos 5.2 server (dom0) and am attempting to install a Centos 5.2 guest (domU). The install goes fine with one exception. At the end it complains "error mounting /boot". My efforts googling around the net to dig up a solution have come up empty, although I've seen similar issues reported.

Formal definitions of R-language.
Hello! Some CS-guys (the type who knows what Church formalism is) keep asking me questions about formal definitions of R-language that I can not answer (or even understand). Is there some freely available papers which I can throw at them where it would be explained is R functional/OOP/procedural language, does it use weak/strong, dynamic/static typization, does it use lazy or ...(do not know

Kickstart-based Install, editing comps.xml, hdlist/hdlist2
Hello, all - I've been throwing the question around on the kickstart-list for the last few days here, and can't quite get ahold of things. Please, allow me to explain. I am in the process of making a custom CentOS/RHEL kickstart install. It works well right now; however, it's a hackjob, and I am not comfortable with it as of yet. For the past few days, I've even gone as far as

OCFSv2 in a mail cluster environment
Hello, First, thanks to all the people who helped to license this software under the GPL. This is a very important piece of work for the Free Software in the Enterprise Market. Just a few newbie questions. We've been thinking about implmenting a mail cluster with a Fiber SAN (IBM DS-4000) and OCFSv2 as the storage backend. The information on this volume will essentially be Postfix Maildirs,

simple help request
Hi all, I have data that looks like number|grouping I would like to preform stats for each grouping so 1|5 6|5 10|5 11|5 3|9 5|9 10|9 Say I would like to take the median for above, I should be returned 2 lines, one for group #5 and one for group #9 Does this make sense? I am sorry for the basic question, can someone give me the name of a good book as well? Thanks, Lotta [[alternative

Spamhaus with Zimbra Mail on CentOS
I realize this is slightly off topic, but I've noticed recently that I've been unable to preform RBL lookups using the the zen and sbl spamhaus RBL lists. Currently using Zimbra Collaboration Suite using CentOS 5 I'm seeing logs showing the following output. [root at phantom ~]# cat /var/log/zimbra.log | grep spamhaus Jul 18 13:07:12 phantom postfix/smtpd[27001]: warning:

non-parametric Anova and tukeyHSD
I have insect data from twelve sites and like most environmental data it is non-normal mostly. I would like to preform an anova and a means seperation like tukey's HSD in a nonparametric sense (on some sort of central tendency measure - median?). I am searching around at this time on the internet. Any suggestions, books, etc. would be greatly appreciated. -- Stephen Sefick Research

rpm spec file for "fakejava"
Interestingly, i just posted to the list a similar SPEC file. look at the thread on CGI.pm. I've attached my spec file for "fakejava" as well. It was a lot of trial and error to make it work. None of the documentation I could find was for modern versions of RPM, and IIRC the documentation i did find for older versions was incorrect somehow. I think I had to specify a source

Installing
I have skimmed through many web pages, how to''s and editorials, my final conclusion is that the programming language for this particular part of the program is going to be Ruby. There are many reasons: 1. Apple will support it in 10.5 2. There seems to be a lot of support for it in the Mac community 3. Ruby developers seem to be Mac people. 4. There is better documentation than

script called from qemu hook freezes.
Greetings, I'm executing an external script when the qemu hook is called with start or release, the script is rather simple, upon start it iterates over the output of lsusb -t and for each device, it looks if it should be added to the vm we started, if so, it attaches it to the vm as follows: virsh --connect qemu:///system "${cmd}" "${domain}" /dev/stdin << END
