trouble building an rpm
i'm a newbie at building rpms. I made a few rpms years ago, but can't now make one on Centos 5. In /usr/local/rpmbuild, there are 5 subdirs: BUILD RPMS SOURCES SPECS SRPMS tmp When I type: rpmbuild -ba /usr/local/rpmbuild/SPECS/centos-release-cr-ihc.spec I get 'file not found' errors, for paths in /usr/local/rpmbuild/tmp: error: File not found:

rpmbuild --define | some rpm sorcerer around?

I mean, rpmbuild rushes to work(no errors nor failure) so if you try just the command line do not believe it, because later as it executes %if you will see process does not see these definitions. many

Hi, Could someone tell me how I'd go about compiling php with mcrypt support from src.rpm? ie. configure -with-mcrypt[=DIR] Is it just a matter of calling rpmbuild --rebuild src.rpm --with=mcrypt ? Cheers, MaZe.

Custom kernel RPM/SRPM
Hi, I've built customs kernels from the SRPMs with the following: rpmbuild -bp --target=i686 /path/to/spec cd /usr/src ln -s /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-x.y.z/linux-x.y.z linux cd linux make oldconfig make menuconfig make all make modules make modules_install And it works just fine. The problem now is that I think installing that way isn't

Can't build RPM for i686 target (i386 works)
I'm creating a simple RPM for my 32-bit CentOS 6 server. When I build the RPM without specifying a target architecture (rpmbuild foo.spec), it successfully builds an i386 RPM. If I try to build an i686 RPM, I get nothing: $ rpmbuild --target i686 foo.spec Building target platforms: i686 Building for target i686 And I'm returned to command prompt with no error message. Trying to build opensuse 11.0 64-bit rpm for nut-2.2.2
I am trying to build an rpm for nut-2.2.2 on 64 bit opensuse 11.0. 0. Packages previously built for opensuse 10.x have to be rebuilt since opensuse 11.0 now compresses package payloads using lzma, which according to the opensuse 11.0 release notes makes 10.x rpms unusable. 1. I downloaded nut-2.2.2.tar.gz 2. I recompressed as a bz2 as expected by rpmbuild 3. I extracted and copied
