Firstly, if you're out of quota for example, and using postfix, will
it need to send a bounce email, or will it do the out of quota error
at SMTP time? (preferred)
Also, I want a global sieve script to run first, REGARDLESS if the
user has their own script.

Dovecot as LDA with Postfix
I have been attempting to replace Procmail with Dovecot as the LDA for my
Postfix mail server, but without success. Below is a truncated output from

Only part of sieve script works
Hi,
I am using Dovecot 2.2.11 with Pigeonhole on Arch Linux. I have a
partly working sieve script (pasted to the end of this mail) which
sorts mail into various imap folders.
The first, third and fourth if blocks work just fine. The second and
fifth block do not sort any mails.
However, if I apply the script with sieve-test to mails the second and
fifth block seem to work.
How is the manual

locked account accessable via pubkey auth
maybe this is a silly question ;-) But why is it possible to login on a
machine with a locked account (passwd -l ) via pubkey-authentication
(authorized_keys) ?
I use OpenSSH3.01p1on Solaris8 with PAM support so I thought this should not
happen.
If this is the normal behaviour and built in intentionally what would be the
easiest way to lock an account without deleting the users authorized_keys ?

This is mainly to fix the 0777 base_dir creation issue, which could be

could for example replace Dovecot's auth socket and log in as other
users. Gaining root privileges isn't possible though.

IMAP/Plain Text issue with Dovecot
I finally got Dovecot working pretty good I just have one small problem. I
can't seem to log in via IMAP, now everything works great through POP but
when I try to login via IMAP I get the following error:
"PLAIN authentication failed. None of the authentication methods supported
by your IMAP server are supported this computer"
Anyone seen this before?

I know this is slightly OT but folks discuss zfs compatible hardware

Has anyone used something like this combination?

[Patch] PAM Service name option
It's sometimes desired to be able to alter login policy depending upon
how the person was connecting for the ssh server. For example you might
want different rules on the internal and external interface of a
gateway. In another setup you might want an sshd with a different login
policy running on a different port - and setup different firewalling
rules (for example).

outlook 2007 mailbox sort order
What are people doing to affect the sort order of mailboxes in
outlook? Apple Mail and MS Outlook similarly suck in that they do
not sort '~' correctly -- mailboxes starting with '~' are first instead
of last. At least I think this is the fault of the client, since
Mulberry sorts correctly.
At least with Apple Mail I can drag and drop mailboxes into any display
order I like, so

OpenSSH, Radius, PAM & NOUSER issue
Hi !
Sorry to bring back the infamous "NOUSER" in the conversation but I didn't get the workaround on that problem.
Firstly, I'm using :
- openssh-3.1p1-15 which is the version which comes by default with my Red Hat Linux Advanced Server release 2.1AS.
- I'm using PAM, set up to use radius. Please find below the /etc/pam.d/sshd file :

deliver setgid issues
Okay .. have dovecot set up with following settings :
userdb static {
args = uid=97 gid=97 home=/export/dovecot/mail/%d/%u
mail=mbox:/export/dovecot/mbox/%d/%u/
}
passdb passwd-file {
# Path for passwd-file
args = /etc/dovecot-passdb
}
Passdb works I think in the sense that I can log into dovecot using a
regular mail client.
The real issue is when I try to deliver

two factor authentication
Are there any plans on the table to add native support for two-factor
authentication, such as password *and* public key?
Visa PCI standards require two-factor authentication for remote access
and if password+key was available in openssh it would be much easier
to maintain and support than a full-blown vpn with all the
cross-platform compatibility issues that come with one.
Thanks!

What would be the best way to implement "deliver mail to multiple

ACL for system users?
Hello all,
I'm setting up an IMAP server with dovecot. I've set up system users
with PAM authentication and Maildir maiboxes.
I'd like to share mailboxes among them, but regardless of what I try, I
bump into filesystem permissions.
I want to have Maildirs created for new users with the right
permissions. I even changed "UMASK" in file /etc/login.defs from 022 to

Sieve filter extracting wrong header value on certain mail messages

# OS: Linux 3.15.4-x86_64-linode45 x86_64 openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64)
Short version:
1) I filter out spam by using a dovecot sieve filter to act based on a
header inserted by bogofilter
2) In some cases, sieve fails to correctly file based on this header
3) Testing with sieve-test indicates that it's testing the wrong header
4) Suggestions? Am I doing

Pigeonhole, vacation being sent incorrectly
Hi,
I have an issue with a vacation message in a sieve script. I can't see
an error in the script itself.
Pigeonhole version: 0.4.2-32
Dovecot Version: 2.2.10
The script was created by Ingo (part of the Horde suite), but I think
the script is fine. The problem is that when a message is sent to the
"everyone" group (and alias for every person in the organisation),
