RHEL 3 and quota problems...
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I've just installed 1.0beta9 on my RHEL 3 system and am still getting
the problems with the quota-fs returning "invalid argument".
I think i've traced the problem down to differences in the quota
versions based on the <sys/quota.h> files on RHEL 3 compared to FC3.
on the system itself i'm using v2 quotas (with aquota.user

Xen4CentOS e1000e package
KB and I were looking at repositories to import into git.centos.org
recently, and we found the e1000e package -- a rebuild of the Intel
e1000 driver for the x4c kernel.
Does anyone know if this externally-build module is still necesssary
for Linux 3.10? Or for Linux 3.14, which we're planning on moving to
at some point in the near future?

OSX Server - Excel files
Hi, I am new to this list, so please excuse any redundancy in my
question.
I have 60 Windows XP users who are tied into three Mac OSX File -
Xserve file servers. There is one big problem - ... we are having
issues with Excel files, that on occasion, are not being recognized,
taking literally minutes to load and other quirky abnormalities. Excel
on the XP desktop machines will refuse to save

imap fails, policy wrong?
up until a week or so ago, I had no problem using IMAP logging into a server
running Fedora Core (I think 4 or 5 ) with dovecot 1.0. Had used squirrelmail
and other mail agents using IMAP with no problem. as of 2 days ago, I
get a squirrelmail error "ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.
Query: CAPABILITY" and turning on dovecot debugging shows the following:

configure bug with IRIX 6.5 (Makedep) (PR#288)
Full_Name: Leo Caves
Version: 0.65.0
OS: SGI/IRIX 6.5
Submission from: (NULL) (144.32.72.76)
using default configure under SGI/IRIX 6.5.
(I switched to gnumake, after initial problems, this might not be necesssary).
the make rule for creating dependencies is wrong for the SGI C compiler.
The rule assumes that cc -M file.c -o file.d works (it doesn't).
One needs to explicitly capture stdout

Samba4 successful deployment
I've just installed samba4 beta 7 with defaults and everything went OK.
As I download bind9.9.1 tarball and compiled it I had to follow steve's
advice:
to declare we'll be using DLZ_DLOPEN_VERSION 2 in
/samba-master/source4/dns_server/dlz_minimal.h
/*#ifdef BIND_VERSION_9_8
#define DLZ_DLOPEN_VERSION 1

Filesystem Quota Enhancement Patch
I have just updated my patch that provides enhanced support for
filesystem-based quotas in Dovecot. I provides 2 main features:
* Support for group quotas
* Number of messages quota for users of maildir
If both user and group quotas are enabled on the filesystem, the plugin
will report the quota that is closer to the maximum independently for
both storage space and message count. The

bug in LSUB command
RFC 2060 section 7.2.2 and 7.2.3 says the "The LIST response occurs as a
result of a LIST command." and "The LSUB response occurs as a result of
an LSUB command."
Dovecot presently returns the LIST response for the LSUB command.

--without-linux-quota
Hi,
compiling dovecot 1.1.beta16 with configure option "--without-linux-quota"
failed in line 444 of quota-fs.c as _LINUX_QUOTA_VERSION is an unquoted
"no". Additionally using "--without-linux-quota" does not remove the quota
code from dovecot as I expected. This is not a problem to me but it would
be more clear if configure failed if

Set up SER as a SIP extension on asterisk server
Hi People
We have a client who want to route their outbound calls through our
asterisk server. We need them to authenticate as a sip extension so we
know which calls are coming through them but the people over their side
seem to be a bit clueless and claim they can't authenticate.
Does anyone have any pointers for me for setting up a sip extension in a
SER that I can pass on as I've

Hello,
I a bit surprised to get no replies at all...
How come? Lack of information? Lack of clarity?
Greetings,

Linux disk quota support
Dear Listmembers,
I installed samba-3.0.28 and configured --with-quotas, but I don't seem
to be getting quota support. Is there a description on how to do quotas
with samba? Is there something I should know about besides the
configuration
option --with-quotas?
Thank you,
Emre Brookes

What does a dead register mean?
Hi,
My understanding of a "dead" register is a def that is never used. However,
when I dump the MI after reg alloc on a simple program I see the following
sequence:
ADJCALLSTACKDOWN64 0, 0, 0, *implicit-def dead %rsp*, implicit-def dead
%eflags, implicit-def dead %ssp, implicit %rsp, implicit %ssp
CALL64pcrel32 @foo, <regmask %bh %bl %bp %bpl %bx %ebp %ebx %rbp %rbx %r12
%r13 %r14

quota on xfs on lvm doesn't work(?)
Hi,
I have a strange problem with user quotas enabled on a xfs filesystem
and samba 3.0.21c: When a standard block device (e.g. /dev/sdc1) is used
for the fs, quota works like expected:
/dev/sdc1 on /mnt/tmp type xfs (rw,usrquota)
output from level quota:10 debug:
[2006/04/19 14:38:48, 10] lib/sysquotas.c:sys_get_quota(394)

sys_get_quota
I've setup a samba server on a Lustre client to export the lustre file
system to our windows users. I'm getting the following message
repeated over and over and I don't know what it means. I can say that
I currently do not have any quota system setup, but Lustre has its own
quota system that isn't accessible through standard quotactl(2) calls.
It uses llapi_quotactl(3).
