dovecot.index.cache
Hopefully someone can explain/help me with the dovecot.index.cache
file.
I am wanting to move a dovecot server (v1.0b7) onto a new box running
the same version (1.0b7) of dovecot. To do this I rsync'd the maildir
files to the new server but when I logged into the new machine through
IMAP dovecot reported:
IMAP(username): file index-mail.c: line 105
(index_mail_get_fixed_field): assertion

Dovecot features
Hi,
We would like to switch from courier-imap to dovecot. I have installed
dovecot on a machine running FreeBSD 6.3 and now testing it. My
questions are below:
1. Can I configure dovecot to delete all files that are older, say 10
days, from defined mail boxes (for example Trash or Spam).
2. After I access mail box (using web mail squirrel imap) all emails
moved from 'new' directory

Public Namespace & ACL & Virtual Users
Background:
I am wanting to create shared folders (public namespace) with access
control lists on the sub directories.
Our implementation of dovecot (v1.0b7) uses many virtual users and
domains and 1 actual user (vmail), all using maildir. So far I have
successfully created the public namespace (Public_Folders) which every
user can access but I'm having difficulty restricting access using

Public Namespace + ACLs + virtual users
g'day!
I'd just like to share my experience with public namespace and ACLs.
I know this has been discussed a number of times in the past, but there
were no definite answers.
dovecot version i'm using: 1.0.13
Got a public namespace setup in dovecot.conf as follows:
namespace public {
separator = .
prefix = Public_Folders.
location = maildir:/home/vmail/domains/%

The program I am trying to run on wine came with my Rex 6000 pda. It is an

top posting again [was: Re: CDR Design]
Well, it seems this opened one large can of worms.
Anyway, just to repeat my previous plea - and to echo David's request - can we please stop all this 'top post' rubbish and move on with our lives?
Thanks and Merry Christmas
Andy

problems getting dovecot-LDA to work
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I've setup a test machine and have been playing with dovecot-1.0beta7
and dovecot-lda in preparation for a migration from 0.99.x series.
(hopefully with the ability to support imap-quotas)
anyways, i've got it all compiled fine (as far as I can tell) and
following the directions on the wiki for setting up dovecot LDA with

outlook express 6 imap client workaround
My outlook express users connecting with imap are having issues with
client timeout. The wiki says to add oe6-fetch-no-newmail, but when I
add that workaround I get this error in the logs:
Jun 2 10:00:13 mail dovecot: IMAP(username): Unknown client workaround:
oe6-fetch-no-newmail
I'm using 1.0b7. Any ideas?

compiling dovecot-sieve
Our server is an CentOS4.4 box and we use the atrpms built RPMs for
installing dovecot. I am wanting to use the sieve plug-in so I've
followed the dovecot wiki instructions, downloaded the files from CVS,
but I'm not sure what configure options to use. When I try without any
options I get:
dovecot-config not found from /usr/src/dovecot-sieve, use

Hey guys, I just subscribed to the list about 15 minutes ago so i
apologize in advance if this is something that has already been
discussed. I skimmed through the web archives and I didn't see anything.
I'm running FreeBSD/amd64 and after upgrading from 1.0b3 to 1.0b7 I am
experiencing the following

Dovecot - Microsoft Azure AD
Hello,
I am currently trying to connect my Dovecot mail server to Microsoft's Azure-AD and use it as password and user database. I am using version 2.3.7.1.
Using the Azure-AD as passdb already works. In this context I noticed that the scope implementation is not yet merged.
Since I haven't found any hints for an OAuth2 userdb implementation yet, I wanted to ask if there are any plans

Shared templates across controllers
Hey all,
Here''s my situation: I have a pair of controllers with associated
models (called Services and Testimonials) that are quite similar.
Because their CRUD behavior is executed via AJAX, the "templates" for
the actions are all short .rjs files. Now, because of the similarity
of the models, most of the templates are exactly the same, with only
the object names changed. That

1.0beta7 still has SEARCH TEXT not search the FROM
I just tried out 1.0beta7 and erased all my indexes and with fts and
fts_squat enabled, and when I SEARCH TEXT in Dovecot, it does *not* find
messages where the thing I SEARCH for appear only in the From: header.
Timo, can you confirm or deny that you still see this behavior? I did
clear my indexes before doing it.

[LLVMdev] global question
Below is some C code and its LLVM translation (using a recent rev). The
compiler goes ahead and loads from x in main, but it seems clear that a
constant propagation pass could have inferred that x is 0. In fact that
is what happens if x is static, but in this case I cannot see how
external linkage of x would invalidate that optimization.
This is one of those optimizations that would not be

Debian Sarge or CentOS4.3
Looks like I am going to be doing my first serious commercial install of
FreePBX. I DO mean serious. They are willing to put up with a few glitches
initially which is why I have decided they will be a good first client. I
have turned down several over the past couple years because I just did not
feel comfortable with the state of software/hardware. It seems to work much
better now.
