quota issue POP3
Hi
Just u/g to RH FC3 from RH8.0 which seemed to work fine with quotas.
I have quotas for usernames set up as
/home/domain/domainX/username/ for web space 50MB say 48MB used so 2MB free
and
/var/mail/spool/username for email. 100MB (60MB used so 40MB is
available). /var/mail/username is symbolic linked via to spool/mail under
/var

Invalid mbox file /var/spool/mail/username: No such file or directory
Hi
dovecot-0.99.11-1.FC3.4.i386.rpm on FC3
when i create a user account with pop3 email i find that if i don't send and
email to the account (so that sendmail creates the file under
/var/spool/mail/testuser) where "testuser" is the users username. If the
user logs in with Outlook or Outlook express they get an error and maillog
shows.

mail location change results in various errors
I have a sendmail/dovecot imap/pop3 system that has been running with
the following mail_location:
mail_location =
mbox:/var/empty:INBOX=/var/spool/mail/%u:INDEX=/var/indexes/%u
In order to reduce errors and simplify operation I removed imap and am
now only responding to pop3. I'd like to also simplify the
mail_location to get rid of index errors since I don't need indexes:

Double homedirs and tilde problems in case of chroot in passwd-file / static dbs.
Recently I've made the post about "double homedir" problem,
but I couldn't recreate it later. Here're the exact steps to
make it happen (configuration is at the bottom):
1) set configuration as below with passwd-files
2) clean testms dir (not necessary though)
3) reload dovecot (HUP is enough)
4) access the server with any client using testms user

Problem with Userid
I have a problem with a physical user that was removed and recreated
whith same name and different uid. The home dir, the mailbox file and
the index directory where removed and recreated with the new uid/gid.
I can feed the mailbox via procmail, though dovecot-lda complains that
userids do not match:

Migrate from mlbox to maildir, lock problem
Hi
We've been using dovecot successufly for few month.
Previous setup : solaris 8, postfix+LDA, mbox + index on NFS (Netapp),
2500 accounts
Everything shared overs NFS, multiple servers connect to index, mbox.
mail_location =
mbox:/var/mail/mbox/%u:INBOX=/var/mail/%u:INDEX=/var/mail/indexes_dovecot/%u
We had at first some issue with mbox locking, using lock_method =
dotlock solve the issue.
