NTP Service Running on Local Host does not Sync System Time
Hi List I have ntp running as a service on a PC, with the expectation that it would keep time in synch to my ntp server. However, while I can manually update the time using "ntpdate -u ...", I find that if I manually force the wrong time, the ntpd service does not automatically re-synch the system time with the ntp server: - Current time: [admin at lol ~]# date Wed Jan 27 10:54:21

[LLVMdev] Writing a new AA pass
Hello everyone, Proceeding with an effort to optimize pointer-arg-to-struct-with-data-pointer arrangement, I'm taking a shot at writing a specific AA pass. I've got a scaffold up modelling after BasicAA and bumped into a few issues. Here's a snippet of IR I'm dealing with. Slice is the wrapper structure and "data" pointer is element 0 and we're looking at two of

ntpdate issues?
Hi, I''m trying to run ntpdate from domain zero and getting weird results. This used to work (prior to using xen). Is this related to xen at all or an entirely unrelated issue? Queries seem to work: # ntpdate -q time-b.nist.gov Looking for host time-b.nist.gov and service ntp host found : time-b.nist.gov server 129.6.15.29, stratum 1, offset 41.820087, delay 0.17027 17

PJSip CallerID Question
I have multiple Asterisk instances set up in different locations and would like to modify the callerID of inbound calls to identify which instance the call is coming from.? I knew how to do that with the old sip format, but can't seem to figure it out with PJSip. For example: Currently Location A, extension 10 calls Location B, extension 20.? CallerID on Extension 20 displays

Install packages at the command line using apt-get. It lets you better see and understand what's going on. dovecot-core /recommends/ ntpdate. This means you can install with apt-get

ntpdate odd behavior
I noticed this morning that my ntp time was not correct on machines. So I manually ran "ntpdate time.apple.com" on my clients, I got 7 May 08:46:43 ntpdate[10550]: no server suitable for synchronization found then I ran "ntpdate -d time.apple.com" and it worked . filter offset: -163.446 -163.446 -163.446 -163.447 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 delay 0.20570,

Ubuntu 16.04 dovecot-core requires deprecated ntpdate
I'm building a new Ubuntu 16.04 machine, including Dovecot. When I select the dovecot-core package in Synaptic, it also wants to install ntpdate. Problem: ntpdate has been replaced in Ubuntu with timedatectl. In fact, if ntpdate exists on the machine, ntpd will not work properly. See: https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/NTP.html See:

Why the command 'service ntpd stop' cause the time reversed?
Hi guys, Thanks for your reply. I originally used the following command to synchronize time: ntpdate 192.168.0.191 but got the error: ntpdate[16715]: the NTP socket is in use, exiting So i used the way of stopping ntpd service. Now I have known that using command "ntpdate -u 192.168.0.191" can solve the above error, and also know using ntpdate command is an improper way, i.e. should use

RPM-installed packages trying to install every run, causing service to fail
Hi guys, I''m doing some hackish stuff with manually installing RPMs. Basically I''m pulling them down to /tmp and installing them using provider => rpm, then making the service check that the package is installed before it''ll start. Here are the relevant sections of the pp file: class tomcat inherits httpd { $tomcat_connectors_pkg = $architecture ? {

Duplicate class declaration because of counterintuitive class scoping
Hi, I bumped into the following this afternoon (on a 2.7.19 puppet master/agent combo): consider a class profile::tomcat in module profile with the following content: $ cat modules/profile/manifests/tomcat.pp class profile::tomcat { class { ''tomcat'': } notice(''Class profile::tomcat in module profile'') } and $ cat modules/tomcat/manifests/init.pp

Apache Tomcat/5.5.23
I have a new instllation of tomcat on centos. My $CATALINA_HOME is /usr/share/tomcat5 and tomcat is running. http://localhost:8080 brings up the tomcat page & one of the option is "Administration". I would like to use this web interface and even give some of the test webapp users ability to restart tomcat. According to the home page, users are defined in
