anyone running with Horde mail?
Hey again folks ;-)
Seems my auth is working afterall when I telnet to the IMAP port.
But darned if I can get it working with Horde web mail. Is anyone out
there doing this just first of all to confirm to me that the
combination works OK.
I don't care so much about shadow auth since apparantly my pam auth is
working just fine.
thanks,
-Alan

http://dovecot.org/releases/1.1/beta/dovecot-1.1.beta3.tar.gz.sig
Please try and report any bugs. Beta2 still had a few bad bugs, but I'm
hoping this release is near a usable state.
I've been a bit busy with school lately so I haven't had time/energy to
answer mails in here. The main reason has been this lab course

1.1b4: Disconnected: EOF while appending
I am moving some messages from an IMAP account to another.
During the process I got this message:

I deleted dovecot.index.cache and dovecot.index.log and the error disappeared

Proxy problem: "[COMPRESSIONACTIVE] TLS compression already enabled"
We're proxying using 2.2.14~rc1 (on our IMAP Proxy) to two dovecot
backend servers running dovecot-2.2.13-r1
When we're using Thundebird to connect to the dovecot proxy, we're
getting the message "The mail server for account ACCOUNTNAME

But why?

Filtering Mails - how?
Hello,
I've got some problems about understanding, how to filter my incoming mails.
I am using dovecot 1.0.beta3 (ubuntu server) and want to implement a filter,
where I can filter all my incoming messages (like the ones from the dovecot
ml) to special folders within the mailbox of each user (for each user a
special set of filters).
Is there a chance to do this in dovecot or have I to use

unofficial Survey about your Dovecot server :) to compare with my own server setup...
Hi Borthers/Sisters
Thanks for all the developer(s) and for all the hard work spent on build
this great piece of software! I loved Dovecot since it is really easy to
set up and really fast but I am really new to it (only 2 weeks and
half). Right now, our server configuration is:
Server: Apple Xserve G5 dual
RAM: 4GB
Number of Users: ~ 150 IMAP only users
Authentication: LDAP

Problem with Eudora
I'm trying to get Dovecot (dovecot-0.99.10-6) to work with Eudora (6.0
mac/win) and am having a real problem when I try to enable SSL, either
TLS or alternate-port SSL.
Although my other mail clients, mail.app, imp, etc. work just fine,
either version of Eudora craps out when trying to connect via TLS or SSL
-- on the mac I get the error
Could not get mailbox list.

OT: Evolution folder location
I have used Eudora since v 1.35 (circa '93). For quite some time, I
have enjoyed keeping each of my mail accounts' folders in totally
separate directory trees. In Eudora you do this by specifying the
data locatoin as part of the startup: '<program location>/eudora.exe
<data location>'
So I am quite spoiled. But there is no Eudora support in Linux/CentOS.
So

eudora
Hi folks,
I'm new to WINE and have actually read the docs, so go easy on me. My
machine is setup to dual boot between Red Hat 7.2 and Windows2000. This
is what I get when I try to run Eudora 5.1 from my Win2k partition.
This is as far it'll go--no window ever displays. I get identical
results with either WINE 20020122 or a CVS snapshot from yesterday
evening. Let me know if

New eudora problem - "mswmsg" not supported
I just upgraded from v0.9.9 to v0.9.32 (on Ubuntu 6.06) and Eudora Pro v4.2
stopped working. It no longer opens a mailbox when the icon is clicked. The
log shows "fixme:rpc:alloc_serverprotoseq protseq "mswmsg" not supported"
each time I click to open a mailbox.
This was working on v0.9.9 so I am looking for ideas as to how to work
around this problem. There is a bug

Eudora slow moving from samba 1.9.18p10 to latest
We are (only just) upgrading from Samba 1.9.18p10 to the latest 2.2.7a. We
run Eudora 5.1 on our PC clients, which pick up their mail boxes from home
directories on Solaris machines using samba shares. When we install the new
Samba, all our Samba clients slow down incredibly. I suspect here is a
change in the Samba config file requirements between the versions? Has
anyone else already solved

eudora issue
There seems to be a protocol mismatch between eudora and dovecot when

Ongoing Eudora problems and a thanks
First off, thanks to the Wine team-- the 10/4 build is the closest to
working well with Eudora I have had since the one I currently run, which
was 1/12/01.
Second, thanks to Lawson Whitney for sending me the socket patch so I
could get the 10/4 build on the net!
Now, Eudora Light 3.0.5 is running much better under the 10/4 build. A
few little things are still wrong.
Running just "wine

Wine & Eudora Pro
Has anyone been able to get Eudora Pro 5.x working with wine? I've got Red

but so far, no luck.
Thanks,

Problem with dovecot-lda
I have installed the dovecot 1.0 beta3 (package included with Ubuntu
Dapper Drake) and everything is working very well. Next I wanted to try
the dovecot lda (for sieve filtering).
In postfix I have "mailbox_command = /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver" and I
followed the instructions from http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA. I only
changed "postmaster_address = postmaster@localdomain.local"

wine-20011004 Problems
I'm having major problems with the 10/4 Wine release. Currently the only
thing I really use Wine for is Eudora Light 3.0.5. The most stable
release for me thus far has been wine-20010112, which is what I'm using
right now. Most of the releases since then have had window problems with
Eudora-- messages having too much blank space, strange things.
So I tried 1004, and it has a new

problems with eudora
Hi everyone, i just installed dovecot in Fedora Core release 1 (Yarrow).
When accessing from a eudora 6.1 client, first it gave ssl authentication
problems. I fixed disabling them in eudora, but now it authenticates ok and
then it says that there is no inbox for that user. Any idea?

Authentication error after authentication query (for Eudora 5.2 on Mac)
Greetings all, I'm a new user of Dovecot and want to say thanks for the
great software.
I am having a problem at the moment. I run a heterogeneous network with
windows and Mac clients logging into a Fedora Linux 2 box running
sendmail and previously UW-IMAP, but now Dovecot. I am using strictly
pop3, plain authentication with mbox format. Every computer in the
network is working fine with

Dovecot/IMP attachment problem
I recently installed dovecot in my production environment. This
comprises about 60k mailboxes.
The system was initially set up with dovecot 0.99.10.7 using maildirs.
I have been using perdition to handle redirection during the process of
converting from wu-imap.
Last week it was brought to my attention that our webmail interface
(horde/imp) is no longer allowing people to download attachments.
