1.0 beta1 released
As promised, here it is finally. v1.0 is getting nearer and I want people to start looking at Dovecot's sources. Getting some more help with development would be nice, but I'd also like to hear if there are any hidden bugs in the code. So, one week from now I'll start offering 1000 EUR for the first person to point out a remotely exploitable security hole in Dovecot. See

Beronet app_saynumber-beta-rc1
Hi list! Do anybody has success histories about using the Beronet app_saynumber application? For those that are hearing about for the first time, it?s a piece of software that enables the use of another language in say_number commands in asterisk dialplan or AGI scripts. Link to download: http://www.beronet.com/download/app_saynumber-beta-rc1.tar.gz I?m trying to compile it in

Can't print from applications in W2K to Samba (version 2.2.3a, Debian woody)
Dear all I am currently setting up a Samba server and am experiencing a bit of a problem with printing: I have a Canon LBP-1000 connected to the Samba server via the parallel port. Printing directly from the machine works fine. Printing to the printer directly attached to my W2K client works fine, too. When I try to print from the W2K client to the printer connected to the Samba server, however,

Test if beta is different from something other than 0
Is there a function/package that will allow you to test the hypothesis beta1 = x in a simple linear regression, where x is a constant? The AOV tests if beta1 in different from 0 but what if I want to know if beta1 one is different from 1? With best wishes and kind regards I am Sincerely, Corey A. 1.0-test51
http://dovecot.org/test/ This release is built with autoconf 2.59 and libtool 1.9. We'll see how it works out :) The required changes were done by Matthias Andree. - The last fix for connection hanging made IDLE use 100% CPU - We don't use Maildir/.INBOX/ directory anymore, indexes are stored in Maildir-root - Don't crash with FETCH BODY[n.MIME] - Changed %p (protocol)

Next Vorbis beta, MPEG+ enkoder
Hi. When can we expect the next beta version of Vorbis encoder (with some tagging & encoding options I hope)? Also, today I tested MPEG+ encoder which you can download from http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/user/73884/mppenc.zip (win encoder) http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/user/73884/in_mpp.zip (winamp plug-in) http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/user/73884/mppdec.zip (win decoder) It sounds

[POP3] RFC2449 conformance?
RFC2449 Section 5 ("Capabilities available in the AUTHORIZATION state MUST be announced in both states.") requires that POP3 extensions offered in Authentication state MUST be offered in Transaction state as well, this affects the "SASL" extension. This is a CVS version that is a couple of days old (the old 0.99.10 wouldn't run on Linux 2.6 because it has tighter

Minimizing a Function with three Parameters
Hi, I'm trying to get maximum likelihood estimates of \alpha, \beta_0 and \beta_1, this can be achieved by solving the following three equations: n / \alpha + \sum\limits_{i=1}^{n} ln(\psihat(i)) - \sum\limits_{i=1}^{n} ( ln(x_i + \psihat(i)) ) = 0 \alpha \sum\limits_{i=1}^{n} 1/(psihat(i)) - (\alpha+1) \sum\limits_{i=1}^{n} ( 1 / (x_i + \psihat(i)) ) = 0 \alpha \sum\limits_{i=1}^{n} (

Dovecot-1.0.beta1: New mail sometimes fails to appear
Hi there... Having updated to 1.0.beta1, I for a while thought a bad bug with IDLE handling that caused new mail in INBOX not to appear when using Mozilla Thunderbird has been solved. Although I can not reproduce one kind of problem anymore, after a short while it again appears that one does not always see one's new mail with Thunderbird. I can not consistently reproduce the bug, but

Question on CAR appendix on NLS
The PDF file on the web, which is an appendix on nonlinear regression associated with the CAR book, is very nice. When I ran through the code presented there, I found something odd. The code does a certain model in 3 ways: Vanilla NLS (using numerical differentation), Analytical derivatives (where the user supplies the derivatives) and analytical derivatives (using automatic differentiation). The

Packages of icecast 2.4-beta?
Hi Thomas, > My preferred approach would be to explain how to merge the debian > packaging with a more recent tar-ball and rebuild a package out of this. We can provide a wiki page on that, sure, although we would probably go one step further and actually provide the packages for our target distros too (Debian stable/testing and Ubuntu 10.04/12.04 LTS). > a PPA approach might be

How to test the statistical significance of the difference of two univariate Linear Regression betas?
How to test the statistical significance of the difference of two univariate Linear Regression betas? Hi all, There are two samples of data: D1 and D2. On data D1 we do a univariate Linear Regression and get the coefficient beta1. On data D2 we do a univariate Linear Regression and get the coefficient beta2. How do I test the statistical significance of (beta1-beta2)? Could you please

feature request: IMAP passdb prefetch
It'd be useful for us if the IMAP passdb could be used as a prefetch userdb. The remote IMAP server could respond with something like * OK key=value * OK key=value SEQ OK [CAPABILITY ...] Logged in. Or * OK <some JSON key value pairs> SEQ OK [CAPABILITY ...] Logged in. Would anyone else find this useful?

Generating a bivariate joint t distribution in R
Hi, I conduct a panel data estimation and obtain estimators for two of the coefficients beta1 and beta2. R tells me the mean and covariance of the distribution of (beta1, beta2). Now I would like to find the distribution of the quotient beta1/beta2, and one way to do it is to simulate via the joint distribution (beta1, beta2), where both beta1 and beta2 follow t distribution. How could we

vertical lines in R plot
Dear All, May I seek your suggestion on a simple issue. I want to draw vertical lines at some positions in the following R plot. To be more specific, I wish to draw vertical lines at d=c(5.0,5.5,6) and they should go till p=c(0.12,0.60,0.20) . I haven't found any way out, though made several attempts. Please run the following commands first if you are interested in!

hypergeometric
Hi, I hope somebody can help me on how to use the hypergeometric function. I did read through the R documentation on hypergeometric but not really sure what it means. I would like to evaluate the hypergeometric function as follows: F((2*alpha+1)/2, (2*alpha+2)/2 , alpha+1/2, betasq/etasq). I'm not sure which function should be used- either phyper or qhyper or dhyper Where
