wrong startup information in production environment
Hi, I check out the last codes from merb repository. And the startup information for production environment just like that: ====================================================== dev:/var/www/apps/upload_merb/current/log# /etc/init.d/merb_init start Merb started with these options: --- :template_ext: :html: :herb :js: :jerb :xml: :xerb :config: dist/conf/upload.conf :drb_server_port:

Non-Erubis Templates
Trunk Issue: Because of the use of ''autoload'', template handlers other than Erubis are not loaded automatically (Haml, XMLBuilder). Either this should be fixed, or the documentation should be updated to instruct people how to use non-Erb template engines. Apparently the solution is to do something like this in merb_init.rb: ::Merb::AbstractController.register_engine

What does js partial(...) do?
In the example application named "sample_app", comment.jerb contains the following line: $(''comments'').update(<%=js partial(:comments) %>); What does the ''js'' method do to/with, if anything at all, ''partial(:comments)''? Merb is quite fun to use and I''m starting to get a feel for it and ruby. I''m surprised at

Using the :layout option when calling render @variable
Hey everybody, I wanted to use the :layout option when calling render @variable (where @variable is some ActiveRecord class instance with a corresponding variables/_variable.html.erb partial view), but as far as I know, Rails doesn''t support this. Here''s a quick patch that allows to use the :layout function: In partial_renderer.rb, add the following elsif block: if

Accessing Package NEWS (NEWS.Rd)
Okay. So, after having spent quite some time never really tracking down why my package NEWS files were unacceptable to readNEWS(), I noticed that there was recent (to me anyway) development that allowed the NEWS to be done as an Rd file. Sweet! A more standard format... I converted a NEWS file in one of my unreleased packages to Rd format. checkNEWS() gave it a thumbs up. But then it went south.

Getting names of objects passed with "..."
Is there a tidy way to get the names of objects passed to a function via the "..." argument? rbind/cbind does what I want: test.func1 <- function(...) { nms <- rownames(rbind(..., deparse.level=1)) print(nms) } x <- "some stuff" second <- "more stuff" test.func1(first=x, second) [1] "first" "second" The usual

Xml templates...
I was looking in using an xml_builder template to do something like: blee.xerb xml.blees do <% for blee in @blees %> xml.blee = blee.name <% end %> end It looks like the xml_builder template can''t expand the erb tag. It this not the correct way to expand and xml template ? Thanks ! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Why is the diag function so slow (for extraction)?
As kindly pointed out to me (oh my decaying gray matter), is.object() is better suited for this test; $ svn diff src/library/base/R/diag.R Index: src/library/base/R/diag.R =================================================================== --- src/library/base/R/diag.R (revision 68345) +++ src/library/base/R/diag.R (working copy) @@ -23,9 +23,11 @@ stop("'nrow' or

diag()
I would like to suggest a slight modification to diag(). In the case where x is a matrix with both row names and column names the same, it would be reasonable if the resulting vector also had those names. I often use diag() on variance matrices, where this modification is helpful. The modification requires replacing if (is.matrix(x) && nargs() == 1) return(c(x)[1 +

moving onto returning a data.frame?
I've been studying some of the code and I'm still a little shakey on the proper method for returning a data.frame from a C function (which is my ultimate goal here). I've started some code that I've "stolen" from the archives and I'm running into crashes, etc. I've been trying to gleen some insight from the src/main/scan.c file and didn't find many comments in

Setting matrix dimnames in a list
Hey All, I was wondering if I could solicit a little input on what I'm trying to do here. I have a list of matrices, and I want to set their dimnames, but all I can come up with is this: x <- matrix(1:4,2) y <- matrix(5:8,2) z <- list(x,y) nm <- c("a","b") nms <- list(nm,nm) z <- lapply(z,function(x)dimnames(x)<-nms) As you can see, this

Missing template pages/layout only occasionally
I have my app email me errors when they occur. I get this about 2-3 times a week with thousands of hits a day to the site. pages/show is a .html.erb file that renders the partial _strategicrelationshipacademy.html.erb essentially. Or whatever partial it calls for. I get this on many different ''pages''. Obviously the partial exists if it renders it fine most of the time. What

Function to do multiple named lookups faster?
Hi, I apologize if this topic has been discussed - I could not figure out a good search phrase for this question. I have a named vector x, with multiple (duplicate) names, and I would like to obtain a (shorter) vector with non-duplicate names in which the values are the means of the values of the duplicated indexes in x. My best (fastest) solution to this was this code: nms <- names( x )

Couple of questions for Merb 0.4
All, I have just updated to the latest release of merb 0.4 and I am wondering how I can get my controller changes to reload without bouncing the server ? I am running in dev mode but my changes to my merb controller don''t seem to get picked up on new requests. Also say I have a controller that needs to render an alternate xml format ie something like:

Re: Linux EXT3 support? problems flushing?
Paul, I don't know if this helps but I'm running RH7.2 on ext3 with Samba 2.2.1a & Quotas, I haven't heard any users complain yet, (300 total users). I don't believe any of them are using Outlook though, but they are using the Samba for their Groupwise MailArchive. Hope this helps... -Dusty > -----Original Message----- > From: Gerald Carter

spdep::poly2nb problem
I downloaded a US states+territories shapefile from http://www.weather.gov/geodata/catalog/national/html/us-state.htm and unzipped it into my working directory. Then in R (version 12.2.0 for ms-win32): library(rgdal) # Version: 0.6-28 library(spdep) # Version: 0.5-24 (loads sp: Version: 0.9-72) # read in the data states<-readOGR(".","s_01de10") summary(states) # now
