Dovecot & SquirrelMail
At the moment SquirrelMail can only view the INBOX folder.
Trash, Sent, Drafts and other folders i create are not listed.
I remember there is a config in dovecot.conf to view where the default box
is.
I'm not sure how it should be set.
My Inbox is in: /var/mail/$user/
The Other Dirs are in: /home/user/mail/
What should the config look like?
Please Help

Asterisk set-up for LCR
Hi,
This is what I want to do:
1. Asterisk to answer calls via DID's, currently using SIPGATE
2. Provide a menu, and allow users to dial out.
3. According to the country and area they dial, the call should connect via
one of up 4 carriers depending on cost.
4. If the carrier is busy it should go to the next one in line and so forth.
I have tried to set this up, but it never answers the

Handling a relationship between users and newsletter subcriptions.
Hey Everyone!
I have a newsletter system that contains a multitude of different
newsletters. In this case three but the system allows the user to
add more. Every user can be subscribed to any amount of given
newsletters. So what I did was I created a user model, newsletter
model, and subscription model.
The subscription model belongs to one user and one newsletter.
However,

Slightly OT : newsletters, mail formatting and netiquette
Hi,
This question is not exactly CentOS-related strictly speaking, but here
goes. I'm running a few newsletter servers for myself and a handful of
clients on public CentOS servers with PHPList.
For the last twenty years or so I've followed the basic rule that mails
should have no formatting whatsoever, only simple text. And now I wonder
if that basic rule of netiquette also applies to

Sieve & Public folders issue (2nd episode)
Hello Community,
Getting back to my previous post, here a a complement:
- Having enabled sieve, I can store mails and create folder under the
recipient
- Having enabled public folders, I can move mail into them using a
client (eg Thunderbird); security is therefore ok (actually I gave full
control to the user)
eg Public/Newsletters/SomeCompany
- *BUT* running a sieve script to store to

Public namespaces with global ACLs 1.2+
Hi,
I'm having trouble to get ACLs working in a more restrictive way with
namespaces. I would like to grant certain users the ability to create
new mailboxes in a public namespace e.g. "Public/Newsletters" etc.
It works when I add the users to a ".DEFAULT" ACL file like this:
user=username lrwk
Anyway I'd like to limit their permissions on the Namespace

polite help request: Building Wine on Ubuntu / Kubuntu 6.06 (Dapper Drake)
Hello Karsten,
Please can you help clarify a couple of points in your how-to guide? We are
trying to install Wine on a 64-bit (dual core) Celeron system.
The general problem we are having is that it is not clear at what point to
perform the "configure" or "make" commands. We have followed your
instructions very closely, but some steps are unclear:
1) "configure will

Firefox 3.5 Issues
I downloaded Firefox 3.5 from the M. Harris site and, for the most
part, have had good luck with it. But I have also had hard crashes
that take down CentOS, not just Firefox.
It happened to me twice on eBay (on the same page) -- and now I can
replicate it as many times as I want by going to...
http://wiki.centos.org/Newsletter
...and choosing one of the two newsletters, linked there.

Threads vs. Processes and Rails
Hey all,
I need to launce a rather lengthy process from a small Rails application.
It''s the sort of thing (sending out an email newsletter) that would need to
be launched from a browser window, but the browser doesn''t need to stick
around to see it through.
I played around with Thread.new, but I think, based on limited testing, that
the threads need to complete before the view

How come wine doesn't improve?
Even though wine versions get released often and the weekly newsletters
seem to report progress I get the impression that wine is not really
improving.
Of course it happens that some applications work with newer wine
versions which didn't work with older ones, but at the same time old
applications stop working.
Is it only me that gets the impression that wine only changes over time,

Whatever happened to the gtk based uxtheme.dll implimentation?
Hello,
This is my first post here, so I'm sorry if I'm
posting this in the wrong place. A while ago on one of
the wine newsletters, it was reported that somebody
messed around with the uxtheme.dll implimentation to
allow for native gtk themes to work with wine apps.
This was a great idea, as the default widgets wine
uses, are quite frankly, kind of ugly. I'm wondering

Retention Policy Feature(?)
I am currently using dovecot 0.99.14p1 on OpenBSD 3.8, mbox format,
procmail+sendmail MTA. I subscribe to quite a few mailing lists and
currently have procmail sorting mail into the proper mboxes. I was hoping
there would be some sort of retention policy feature built in to dovecot. I
want to delete mail more than X days old from X folders. I have combed the
documentation, list archives, and

how to know when a system is compromised
How do you know when a Linux system has been compromised??
Every day I watch our systems with all the typical tools, ps, top, who,
I watch firewall / IPS logs, I have logwatch setup and mailing daily
summaries to me and I dive deeper into logs if something looks suspicious.
What am I missing or not looking at that you security gurus are looking at?
I subscribe to the centos and SANS
