Well, it looks like AstriCon 2006 is going to be big. We've sold out the entire Westin Park Central -- every last room. So, here are some nearby hotels to check if you're planning on coming down to Dallas for the big Asterisk-fest. Need a SIP trunk provider for US - Dallas/TX
All, I'm in Dallas, TX, US and am looking for inbound-only DID service with 10+ channels on a SIP trunk. Is anyone on this list doing something similar and have any recommendations for a provider? Of course I'll be routing either SIP/IAX to an asterisk server that will be hosted in a Dallas colocation facility. I found VoxBone.com but they only want to deal with customers that can

Changing X axis of ggplot
Thanks to Joshua Wiley for turning me on to ggplot2. I am making a plot using this: p <- ggplot(dallas, aes(x = offense_hour)) + geom_bar() + coord_polar() Dallas is a data frame, and offense_hour is a column with chron objects from the chron library. In this case, the chron object was created with the times function. It is only a time (H:M:S) with no date attached. The plot shows up fine,

3d bar plot
This graph -> http://www.math.hope.edu/~tanis/dallas/images/disth36.gif is an example I found at http://www.math.hope.edu/~tanis/dallas/disth1.html created by Maple. Does anybody know how to create something similar in R? I have a feeling it could be possible using scatterplot3d (perhaps with type=h, the fourth example in help('scatterplot3d')?), but I cannot figure it out. Thanks in

VoIP friendly Internet providers in Dallas and Philadelphia
Hi Everyone, My experience is only with the Canadian providers. What options/providers are there in Dallas and Philadelphia other than Verizon when it comes to internet? Something in the order of at least 10mbps down and up - I understand that and higher bandwidths are easily available in USA due to vast fiber networks? The connection will be replacing a T1 and will be support VPN connections to

Bilateral matrix
Dear William and Ben, Thank you for your replies and elegant solutions. I am having trouble with the fact that two of the previous locations do not appear in current locations (that is no one moved to OKC and Dallas from other cities), so these two cities are not being included in the output. I have provided a better sample of the data and the ideal output (wide form - a 10x10 bilateral matrix)

SetCallerID based on extension
I am going through previous posts, but I am not finding anything. I apologize if this has been covered already. I want to be able to change the CallerID for outbound calls based on the extension making the calls. However, I don't really need this level of granularity. I have one asterisk box serving many markets. I want to set the CallerID to a local number in each market. So, of someone

Question about Nextone softswitch
As an example....if we have a call that: 1. originates via PSTN line to one of our local DID's in Seattle 2. comes into our Asterisk server in Los Angeles or Denver 3. is routed by Asterisk for termination back to a different Seattle PSTN ....and if our VOIP call termination provider requires (in order to get their best rate) all calls to go through their Nextone

Problem with a if statement inside a function
I have a really long functions, and at the end of the function, I am using a if statement to tag certain keywords based on whether they have certain values contained in them. However, the if statement doesn't seem to work. When I had split up the commands into various functions, it worked fine, but I'm not sure what going on now that it's combined into a single function. myfunc

Missing "block-stream" command in qemu-kvm
Hi all, I’m experiencing an interesting issue where I’m attempting to consolidate my snapshots’ backing images on my qemu-kvm install by way of the virsh blockpull and/or virsh blockcommit commands and receiving the error that my system can not locate the “block-stream” command. I can’t seem to find much related to this issue by way of my Google research outside of some Bugzilla posts, which

Mongrel process unexpectedly dying
We tried to give Mongrel a go running our application which has moderate traffic. We got mongrel up and running easy enough but 3 times in a short period(2hours) mongrel just died with the following error when we went live to production with it. As you can see we are running mongrel-0.3.13.3. /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mongrel-0.3.13.3/lib/mongrel.rb:576:in`peeraddr'': Transport endpoint

[LLVMdev] PyPy sprint announcement: PyCon 2006, Texas, Feb 27st - March 2nd
Hello LLVM-ers, The next sprint of PyPy will be held in Dallas, Texas, at the PyCon conference. Most of you know about the LLVM back-end of PyPy. So far, we use mostly the static compilation features of LLVM, but as we are progressing on the JIT side we are considering starting sometime soon working on just-in-time machine code generation backends. Clearly, LLVM might prove to be a good target

Debugging high CPU with Mongrel
I''m running a site that gets ~30k to 40k page hits per day. In the last 4 days my mongrel processes have been jumping into high CPU usage a couple of times a day to the point where my site becomes unresponsive (database on a diff machine with no load). The only way for me to resolve the problem and reduce load on the machine is to delete my rails cache directory (I have plenty of space

Strange performance issue
I have a strange performance issue and have no idea how to find the bottle neck. A page on my site (http://www.neco.com/events/2783239) is taking way too long to load.
