compilation and installation of dspam-plugin
hello johannes, i just discovered your wonderful plugin for dovecot. it was pretty much exactly what i was looking for, only that i didn't know that yet :) "Instead of moving mail into special folders, the user has two actions available: moving it out of the SPAM folder and moving it into the SPAM folder. The dovecot plugin watches these actions [...] and tells dspam that it made an

RC11 Build Failure on FreeBSD 6.1
I just ran into a build failure on Dovecot 1.0RC11 on FreeBSD 6.1. Identical command sequence for the build worked fine for RC10. uname -a: FreeBSD thor.krellis.org 6.1-RELEASE-p5 FreeBSD 6.1-RELEASE-p5 #0: Fri Sep 1 01:47:32 EDT 2006 root at jail7.jvds.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/JAIL7 i386 Configured with a straight ./configure, no options, no problems reported during configure, but make

Questions regarding Dovecot's POP3 implementation
Hi all I'm considering moving over my POP3 service from qmail-pop3d to Dovecot for the following reasons: - Support for Maildir++ which I have yet to implement - Already using Dovecot for IMAP, so makes sense i.t.o Maildir++ - Support for SQL based user authentication My primary concerns are performance and security. Before I go down that route of migrating away from qmail-pop3d, I'd

istream_read like zlib, but without zlib
Hy Timo ! I Made some modification in stream_read in zlib. I remove all zlib part, because i don't need this, but i need to read a istream to change it. Well, i create a size_t called supersize, with is a substitute for stream->zs.avail_in. The trouble is, my debug file have a lot of "READ Plugin\n", and i think it's because my read becomes a loop, i think it's because

Problems with upgrade 2.0.16 -> 2.1.3
I ran into two issues trying to upgrade our dovecot installation (Solaris 10). 1) Does not compile with OpenSSL 0.9.7 Not a big deal, as I was able to successfully against OpenSSL 0.9.8, but does dovecot require OpenSSL >= 0.9.8 now? libtool: compile: gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I../../src/lib -I../../src/lib-test -std=gnu99 -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -mcpu=ultrasparc -Wall -W

Patch for zero content-length
mbox-index.c uses a zero content length as a flag for an invalid Content-Length: header. Unfortunately zero is also a valid value for Content-Length. The patch below attempts to address the problem. *** mbox-index.h.orig Tue Apr 15 09:04:02 2003 --- mbox-index.h Sun Apr 20 11:42:12 2003 *************** *** 19,24 **** --- 19,25 ---- struct istream *input; uoff_t

Hello Timo, I've upgraded from dovecot-0.99 to dovecot-1.0-stable (the 2005-05-09 version) on FreeBSD 5.4 and encountered the following problems (problem #4 (assertion failed) made me downgrade back to dovecot-0.99...) : 1. mbox sync: UID inserted in the middle of mailbox /var/mail/gopauld (5230 > 4407) --> OK, that's documented on the Wiki, not a real problem 2. imap(cxxx):

CR LF in stable

two assertion failures
Hello! I was able to overcome the earlier-reported problems (of dovecot treating the standard mailboxes in /var/mail/ as directories) by specifying mail_location (continuing to use the 0.99-era dovecot.conf did not work). Then I started seeing assertion-failures like: file istream-raw-mbox.c: line 499 (istream_raw_mbox_get_body_size): assertion failed: (rstream->mail_size != (uoff_t)-1)

IMAP can't read inbox: istream_raw_mbox_get_body_size assertion failed
Yesterday, I upgraded my debian packages from 0.99.14 to 0.99.20050712-2. IMAP service has not been reliable since, and I was seeing crashes with one user. I tried deleting the user's .subscriptions and .imap folders, and forcing the client (Mac OS X's Mail.app) to redownload everything, but that resulted in an empty inbox. Here's what I have: # dpkg -l dovecot*
