Uninitialized constant in a template for production server only
Not sure what is going on here, we are trying to push out a new
version of one of our tools to production. Everything works perfectly
in development (mac) and on our staging server (debian sarge) but the
prodution server (debian sarge) hates what we have done.
We have some variables set in the various environments *.rb file
One of them is a link to another product. It changes based on what

dovecot-1.0-beta3 in production
Hello there!
I've migrated our courier-imap production imap/pop server to dovecot 1.0-beta
few days ago. In general dovecot performs excellent, but i've encountered
several "bugs" in dovecot log:

Is Dovecot ready for production use?
Hi!
I'm currently running RH 9 with postfix, uw-imap and MailScanner. I want to
install Fedora Core 2 (when it comes out next week) with postfix, dovecot
and amavisd. I'm unhappy with the problems I'm having with MailScanner,
with the difficulty I've had with authentication as I am currently
configured, and want to move to Maildir instead of mbox.
That being said, is dovecot

Dovecot for production environment
Sorry if this question has been asked before I looked through some of the
archives before posting this.
I am considering using dovecot on a small 35 user environment (only around
6 gigs of email) that will be primarly be used with squirrelmail for the
MUA. I have been using dovecot for a few weeks now and really like it. It
is a big improvement over uw-imap thats for sure. I was wondering how

Advice, Converting a Live/Production server.
I want to mess with a live server. (a Bad thing).
I have googled until my eyes boogled, wiki'ed until my fingers are wonked,
have read as much as I can read, however I'm left with a few
questions/worries.
Issue:
I am currently running Dovecot as a pop3 server with standard /var/mail
mbox's
I would like to run a mixed Imap/Pop3 server with ~/maildir inbox's

TLS errors when vodafone connecting to dovecot server.
Hi,
I've been trying to setup the vodafone email sync ( provided by visto apparently ) and have not been able to do so - I'm getting an error message in my mail logs which looks as if there is a problem with certificates somewhere.

Is Dovecot Director stable for production??
Today I will try Dovecot Director for a setup using a Cluster Backend with
GFS2 on rhel5, my question is if is Director stable for use in production
for large sites, I know is mainly designed for NFS but I believe it will do
the job also for a cluster filesystem like GFS2 and should solve the mail
persistence problem with a node and locking issues.
I plan to add a layer behind a load balancer to

Test version for production servers for shared folders
Dear List,
Is the latest test version suitable for production systems?
Our current servers use 0.99 on FC4 and we would like to add shared
folders via the test version.
Has anyone migrated this way before?
Thanks,
Gavin.

Dovecot Stable (or: When is 1.0 coming to a server near you?)
I'm mainly just curious, but what version of dovecot is considered to be
stable enough to be running in a production environment?
We're running the 0.99.13 version shipped with FC3 and, while
experiencing great performance gains over UW-IMAP, we have hit a couple
of snags here and there (random and infrequent characters at the
beginning of a mailbox, periodic duplication of a message

Is the Doveadm HTTP API considered stable for production use?
Hi,
I'm running 2.2.34 in production (installed from Debian stretch
backports) and want to rework some scripts. Can the HTTP API be
considered stable in 2.2.34 please? The wiki says it is "considered
experimental in v2.2.22" so I thought I'd check before writing API calls
rather than a wrapper around doveadm!

dovecot 1 for production? which one?
Hi,
I've been lurking on the list since Spring, planning to replace
UW-IMAP with dovecot 1.0 sometime this summer. The recent thread
on "1.0" has not given me a good feeling about seeing it before
summer's end. So I wonder if I should use dovecot-1.0-test-xx code or
dovecot-stable-[date] code (which seems to change every day, how
stable is that???). This is confusing,

Postfix - Dovecot - SASL
I am trying to get Dovecot - Postfix - SASL to work. So, I do not have to use
the pop-before-smtp goofy way of authenticating pop3 users when they want to
SEND mail.

On startup of dovecot 1.1b2 I seem to have some permission trouble.
Dovecot was configured with --prefix=/usr/local/dovecot-1.1 for testing
purposes while dovecot 1.0.2 is in production.

# ./dovecot -F -c ../etc/dovecot.conf

JMAP support in Dovecot
Hi Aki,
Someone just asked in the bug for Thunderbird for this, so...
Is there a git branch that they could use to start playing with what is
there? If not, any idea when that might happen?
It sounds like someone following the Thunderbird bug is interested in
working on this, but they obviously need something to test against.
Thanks,
Charles

JMAP support in Dovecot
Hello Aki,
Well, it has been over 3 years since I last asked...
You had said initial JMAP support would hopefully make it into 2.3.
Since it didn't, I'm hoiping it isn't too far away.
There is some movement with the new Thunderbird team on this, but they
can't really start serious work on adding JMAP support until there is a
server implementation to test against.
Is JMAP

Problem with dovecot-sieve and russian
Hello
I have a problem with dovecot-sieve. When I create a folder in russian,
the filter is not working properly. It creates a new folder with the same
name and delivers the letter there.
For example, I created a folder called &BD8EQAQ4BDIENQRC-/, but the letter
got in &-BD8EQAQ4BDIENQRC-/. In all cases, the difference in the sign -.
The folders in the english language is no problem.

Is the Doveadm HTTP API considered stable for production use?
If you don?t want to use the HTTP API, you can use the raw doveadm protocol.
