Dovecot Deliver?
I guess Dovecot has an LDA called deliver. What is it and how do I use
it? Or is it ready to be used. can't find any docs on it.

Sieve filters on folders, different from INBOX
Hi all
Is it possible to configure Dovecot's sieve plugin to act on message
arrival to folders, other than INBOX?
I wish to move messages fetched by pop3 fetcher to special folder, or sort
outgoing mail to folders, specific
to their recipients.
Thanhs in advance,
WBR,

Is it possible to use sieve when delivering via pipe to the dovecot deliver command ?
Hello,
I am using Exim with this delivery configuration:
virtual_delivery:
driver = pipe
command = /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -d $local_part@$domain -f
...
I have enabled manage-sieve and uploaded a simple sieve script that I
can see on the server.
man page of /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver says it supports sieve.
Mail debug is enabled:
$ dovecot -n | grep debug
mail_debug = yes

Advanced dovecot tricks - spam review/release
Hi,
I'm looking for some advice to do a really advanced trick with Dovecot.
I'm not sure if this can be done. I need to describe first.
I have a spam filtering company that does front end spam filtering.
(Junk Email Filter) I want to add a system where I store a copy of spam
on a server and make it available to the customer to review and maybe
resent on false positives.
I know I

Sieve doesn't find user scripts
Hi,
I want to use Sieve filtering with my Dovecot 1.2 installation on Debian
squeeze. I have a virtual domain setup using Portgresql.
ManageSieve works fine so far, I can edit and activate/deactive scripts (using
Thunderbird + Plugin) and they show up in the filesystem where I expect them to
be, see below.
The problem is that LDA doesn't find the script. From
/var/log/dovecot-deliver.log:

Dovecot not processing through Sieve
Hello everyone,
I'm fairly new to Dovecot, but I've gotten the majority of things working
except for Sieve. I'm running Dovecot 1.2.9 coupled with Postfix and
SpamAssassin all with a virtual domains setup. I am receiving mail and it
is being processed by all the plugins that operate through Postfix. The
quota configured in Dovecot appears to be working because my mail client

Dovecot Sieve crash
I just transferred the files in my home directory from an x86_64 machine
to an i686 machine. This included the .dovecot.sieve and .dovecot.sievec
files in my home root, and the Dovecot index files in my ~/Maildir
directory. Everything seemed to be working until I tried sending an email
that triggers a Sieve "redirect" command, then I got the following in the
logs. I then tried

lda sieve broken after upgrade
upgraded to rc19. using maildirs. solaris 9/cc.
removed all modules from pop/imap/lda subdirs and first upgraded dovecot
to rc19 and then used dovecot-sieve-1.0.1 sources to build against the
dovecot source directory ( everything now builds nicely on Solaris, thank
you Timo ). added "cmusieve" to the list of plugins used by lda.
ail_plugins = cmusieve
now getting this:

Dovecot + Sieve
Hi guys.
I installed dovecot 1.0.3 with sieve plugin.
It looks like sieve is loaded fine by dovecot [1].
I set up dovecot to use sieve globally:
protocol lda {
mail_plugins = cmusieve quota
sieve_global_dir = /usr/local/etc/sieve/Junk
.....
}
And created a sieve file which is supposed to move all the Spam marked by
dspam to users's Junk folder (listed as Junk in the subscriptions

Duplicate Email with Dovecot Sieve
I am trying to use Dovecot Sieve after upgrading Dovecot from 1.0.15 to
1.2.17. I used the same config file from the old version but I added some
entries to make sieve work. In my initial tests, sieve works and is able to
do the actions that I set it to do. However, I get 2 copies of incoming
emails. The inbox would always preserve a copy even if the sieve filter is
set to transfer emails to

Sieve autoreply woes on test setup
Hi,
I have been testing sieve in my setup with qmail-ldap and deliver on a LAN
with an artificial domain name. Everything seems to be working as expected,
except in cases when autoreplies (vacation, reject messages) need to be
tested.
The domain name is vmint, and dawnone is the hostname on which mail server
is setup, so a users have address like cot at vmint, cute at vmint and dove at vmint

Dovecot upgrade broke per-user Sieve scripts
Hi all,
I'm migrating my private mail server from Dovecot 1.0.10 to Dovecot
1.1.4 (both the latest package in Ubuntu Hardy and Intrepid, resp.).
I'm using Postfix with Postfixadmin virtual users , passing mail to
Dspam, which in turn passes email to the Dovecot LDA. The relevant
configuration section is attached below.
When running on the old version of Dovecot, the LDA correctly

dovecot-sieve vacation vs qmail-ldap
Helloo,
We are using dovectot lda with qmail-ldap,
dovecot 1.2.10, sieve 0.1.15
lda is executed as
exec /var/qmail/bin/preline -f /usr/local/dovecot/libexec/dovecot/deliver -s

everything works fine except vacation

lda fails in parse_angle_addr if sieve is enabled
Hi,
Since updating to 2.3.1 on my FreeBSD mailserver mail delivery using
lda is broken if I have sieve enabled.
(Before updating this was 2.2 and pigeonhole 0.4)
FreeBSD 11.1-p8 amd64

Pigeonhole 0.5.1
Mailflow is OpenSMTPd as MTA, using mda delivery to rspamc which
utlimately delivers using dovecot-lda.

First release (v0.1.0) of the new Sieve implementation for Dovecot v1.2
Hello Dovecot users,
Finally, after little more than a year, I finished the first release of
the new Sieve implementation for Dovecot.
The main reason for rewriting the Sieve engine is to provide more
reliable script execution and to provide better error messages to users
and system administrators. Also, since the Sieve language evolves

dovecot-lda won't cause mail to be filtered by sieve
Hi
I'm changing from fetchmail to getmail, in order to fetch my mail from several mail servers and deliver it to my local dovecot server. Fetchmail supports LMTP, getmail doesn't. So I'm making getmail call dovecot-lda for delivering the mail. But now, the incoming mail doesn't get filtered through sieve any longer.
However, this command works:
sieve-filter -v -u v
