Corrupted index file w/Procmail in FC2
Hello:
We have a Fedora Core 2 (FC2) server with Dovecot and Procmail. Versions
are:
dovecot-0.99.13-4.FC2
procmail-3.22-13
We use "maildir" below home directory like:
/users/operaciones/epezoa/maildir, where "epezoa" is my account.
If I receive an e-mail, is stored at "new" folder. When I try to get
e-mail from server, message is transfered from

IMAP EXPUNGE disconnect/box hang - Fedora Core 2, Squirrelmail and Evolution
I'm a bit befuddled by this behavior. I've been using dovecot for close to a year, and recently the Fedora Core 2 Update: dovecot-0.99.13-4.FC2 build came in via yum. Since then I occasionally get this EXPUNGE disconnect error. When the error hits, the box does not crash but I can no longer log in*, nor start any new processes. I happen to have gkrellm running and I see a slow but steady

Rtools and things dependent on it
Avi ,
Your question is not dumb. Let me ask a more fundamental question. What is R tools, what does it do, and how is it used. From time to time, I receive a message when I down load a package saying I need R tools. When I receive the message, I don?t know what I should do, other than down load R tools.

mbox separators ignored
Using dovecot-0.99.13-4.FC2
I grabbed a bunch of Mailman archive files from the Weather mailing list
here:
<http://www.buoy.com/pipermail/weather/>
I gunzipped the older ones, then concatenated them all in correct order to
create one big mbox file. I dropped it into my ~/mail folder and started my
IMAP client (Mulberry) and opened the new Weather folder. It shows one

Nested folders
I would like to have nested folders that users could create from their MUA.
The problem is that I cannot create sub folders either through the MUA or by
hand on the server side.
I can make folders that are not the subfolder of anything. I have an Inbox,
Mailing Lists, Spam, Trash, etc. But I cannot create subfolders of these. For
example, I would like a subfolder under Mailing Lists for each

imap disconnects on my account only
Talk about personal problems!
I am using dovecot-0.99.13-4.FC2, and everything has been going fine
for months. Earlier this afternoon, Thunderbird's status pane would
say 'Sending authenticate login information...' and I would no longer
receive email.
When I checked with others, they were fine and dandy.
I tried kmail, evolution, and even tried webmail. All had connection errors.

R does not run under latest RStudio
I have also had difficulty running R in RStudio. Has anyone else had problems?
It will be a shame if we need to abandon R Studio. It is a very good IDE.

Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file
Getting "Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file" on 1.2rc2 after transferring mail
from an ancient 0.99.13 system. The first line of the file looks ok.
Curiously, it's one of my archival folders of this list. Here's the first
header from the top of the file:

Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file (dovecot 1.0-0.beta8.2.fc5)
Hello,
I have upgraded my dovecot-0.99.13-3.FC3 to dovecot-1.0-0.beta8.2.fc5
recently and now am having weird problem.
If somebody's mailbox has the first line in a form of
From "User Name" <user at host.domain.edu> Thu Oct 7 14:20:00 1999
instead of
From user at host.domain.edu Thu Oct 7 14:20:00 1999
then that mailbox couldn't be precessed by dovecot. It

TaxAct 2006 Problem
TaxAct 2006 installed perfectly, and at the end of the install I was
given the option to start the program. I said yes, and the program ran
just fine.
However, when I tried to run the program separately, I got this error:

Rtools and things dependent on it
David,
I greatly appreciate the explanation you gave regarding R tools providing tools available in Linux distros, but not found in Windows. (I am using a windows system). Does this mean that Linux users don't need to use R tools when they want to compile R code?
Additionally, thank you for the information about what I should read. I will look at the material again, and hopefully things the

Missing mails after folder renaming
Dear List,
I seem to have created myself a problem to which I can't find an answer.
I am using Dovecot (0.99.13-4.FC2 on Fedora Core 2) with Mozilla
Thunderbird on Windows XP and Linux as IMAP client software.
I renamed a folder to a name that included spaces (it fitted the pupose
better), then later realised that I would have to change my procmail
rules to suit. As I wasn't sure what

Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file
Hello all,
I have a new installation of Fedora 4 and Dovecot 1.4.Alpha4
A small percentage of my users are getting unable to pop mail from a client
(ie: Outlook), they get continually prompted for username/password. The
error they get is: Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file.
When I look in the file, I don't see anything unusual. There's not much
info on the Internet about this

Files written to an OST are corrupted
Hi, everyone,
I need some help in figuring out what may have happened here, as newly
created files on an OST are being corrupted. I don''t know if this
applies to all files written to this OST, or just to files of order 2GB
size, but files are definitely being corrupted, with no errors reported
by the OSS machine.
Let me describe the situation. We had been running Lustre 1.8.4 for

Dovecot doesn't call pam_open_session, thus dodging pam_mkhomedir
I hit a small snag using Dovecot-imapd smoothly in my environment
with maildir and most of my accounts in LDAP. Since the accounts are
created through a web interface on another server home directories on
the mail server don't get created automatically. There's the handy pam
module pam_mkhomedir.so to automagically create home directories, but
unfortunatly Dovecot wasn't calling
