PATCH allow_zero_gid option
Hey,
Well, that was easy :-) Patch against CVS follows:
Summary:
Created a boolean option allow_zero_gid, when set to yes it will allow
logins from users whose group id is zero. Tested with KMail 3.1.1 on
FreeBSD 4.8. I'm not sure if my method for passing the boolean via the
environment is correct, it looks a little on the ugly side.

Patch for auto-creating home directories
I've created a patch that adds a feature that is helpful to my setup. If
'parent_dir_umask' is set in the configuration file, any missing
directories in the home directory path are created.
The home directory itself is created according to the 'umask' setting,
'parent_dir_umask' is only used for intermediate directories that might
need creating.
This is useful to me,

Carbon_name path hardcoded
Hello,
I am setting up the imap_stats for dovecot and stumb up on a problem with carbon_name setup.
const char *prefix = t_strdup_printf("dovecot.%s.global?,
But I need to setup the path myself so my index cam be compliant to the index I already have.
Wonder if changing it to something like the following so other users have a way to configure their own path or use the default in case they

doveadm mailbox command fails if backend has an IPv6 address
Hi,
some of my maintenance scripts weren't working as expected and I finally
found that this only happens if the user was mapped to a backend server
reachable via IPv6:
On a director:
doveadm mailbox status -u username messages Junk
returns
Junk messages=203 (if backend is connected via IPv4)
or
Lookup of host ipv6addr:542 failed: ... (if backend is connected via IPv6)

I try to create a patch to allow (proxy-)dict to use tcp connections

[PATCH] quota-status: remove unnecessary newlines
Here's a trivial patch for quota-status.c that removes unecessary newlines
present in the default overquota message. It applies to 2.2 and 2.1.

passing remote ip to pam
to improve forensic log info i want to set the PAM_RHOST value to the
remote ip (which pam logs as rhost=foo in failure messages). i didn't
look to see if anything has been done in this way on CVS because i'm still
on 0.99.10.6.
below is a bit of a hack. in some sense the remote_ip might make more
sense in the AUTH_LOGIN_REQUEST_NEW packet rather than the continue
packet... but that

ssl-params: slow startup (patch for consideration)
Based on the recent found weaknesses in DH key exchange,
http://weakdh.org/
I increased ssl_dh_parameters_length to 2048 bits, and found waited
for 5+ minutes for dovecot to come back online after a restart.
Unless you got a fast machine, the initialization of DH parameters can
exceed your patience.
Regeneration may not be a problem (if ssl_parameters_regenerate=0 or if

getpeername() and SSL
Hi Timo,
first of all: i'm using 0.99.14. You helped me to raw-log the client-IP
using something like this in rawlog.c:
if (net_getpeername(0, &ip, NULL) == 0) {
str = t_strdup_printf("IP: %s\n", net_ip2addr(&ip));
write_full(log_out, str, strlen(str));
}
Now i got the problem, that this doesn't work when the client is
connected using SSL. After some testing i

[BUG] OpenSSL function has been deprecated
In src/lib-ssl-iostream/iostream-openssl-params.c a call is made to DH_generate_parameters. This function has been deprecated since OpenSSL 0.9.8. With OpenSSL 1.1 compilation will throw an error.
Not sure how to send patches, I don't even know if the patch I wrote actually works (I don't program in C, but gave it a shot anyway) but below is the patch.

Originally reported here -

OpenBSD's printf functions have a (mostly annoying but occasionally
useful) feature where they generate a syslog entry if printf %s format
is called with a null pointer.
It is tripped in lmtp/lda deliveries with 2.3.11.3:

setting namespaces using script-login environment in 2.0
Hi!
With dovecot 1.x, I was using a post-login script to dynamically add
shared mailboxes using NAMESPACE_X.. environment variables, based on
filesystem permissions:
After login, the post-login script was executed with user permissions
(mail_drop_priv_before_exec=yes). It added all subdirectories of
"/var/spool/mail/Shared" as namespaces for which the user had write
permissions. E.g.:
