Upgrading from 0.99 to 1.0alpha
Since FreeBSD has decided to drop Dovecot 0.99 and only provide a port for 1.0alpha4, what are the considerations for upgrading from 0.99.14 to 1.0a4? customflags and keywords
OK. After checking the 0.99->1.0 migration documentation, it seems I've been a little confused between customflags and keywords. (Though this is partly due to my repeated requests for clarification being ignored.) The page (http://wiki.dovecot.org/moin.cgi/UpgradingDovecot) says 1.0 does not use .customflags any more. Now, I'm hoping they're still supported, in which case

Upgrade from 0.99 to 1.0
Hi, I have just noticed that one our box is still running ancient 0.99 version (shame on me). Is there anything what I have to take care about during update? I am completely aware about changes in configuration files so my question is mainly about existing maildirs. L??a -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Double Emails
Hi all, I originally posted this on postfix's mailing list but then realized that this COULD be a pop3 server problem since that downloads and deletes mail. This has only been happening since I upgraded from .99 to 1.0-7 ... Our users have been reporting double messages in their inbox, as well as emails that they deleted a long time ago reappearing. The only thing in my maillog is a

MasterUser and old rev of Dovecot (0.99.14)
I need to migrate an old mail server running Dovecot (0.99.14) to a new server running Dovecot (1.0.7; as shipped with CentOS 5.2). My plan was to use the imapsync utility as this will "seamlessly" do the conversion from mbox to maildir between the boxes as well. I've got the MasterUser authentication working fine on the new host and was just about to start getting

upgrading: should I and what will change?
I've been running dovecot 0.99.11 with postfix and postgresql in a production environment with about 25 real users and a couple hundred aliases split over a few domains for nearly a year now. No problems of any kind that I have noticed. Should I upgrade to the latest dovecot? What changes, if any, will I have to make? I've looked through the archives for a couple months without seeing

.imap files
Dovecot version: 1.0.rc7 OS: Red Hat Fedora Core 6 CPU: x86 Filesystem: Linux I have recently upgraded from Fedora Core 4 to Fedora Core 6 (the FC6 was a clean install, not an upgrade). Prior to the upgrade, I used Dovecot to handle IMAP email that talked to Outlook clients. After the FC6 install and copying the .imap* files to the newly recreated user accounts, Outlook is not seeing the

Upgrade from 0.99.x to 1.1.x
Hi! I want to upgrade a Dovecot installation from 0.99.14 to 1.1.15, so I had a look at the following wiki article: http://wiki.dovecot.org/Upgrading?action=show&redirect=UpgradingDovecot The article http://wiki.dovecot.org/Upgrading/1.0 says something about .customflags -> dovecot-keywords and .subscriptions -> subscriptions change/conversion:

Quota
We're getting ready to set up a new mail server running dovecot 0.99.11 (CentOS 4) with maildir and filesystem quotas. I saw on the Dovecot web site that "hard filesystem quota can also be problematic." How problematic? What problems might we anticipate? Thanks. Josh Kelley

Success: MySQL Works on 0.99 But Not 1.0alpha
Great news! yay! I downshifted to dovecot 0.99-14 and pop server is working! Finally a pop-server and postfix and all! And no Courier! or Qmail! Whatever changed in the 1.0 release regarding MySQL is broken, and is working in the .99-14 release. I can finally use my mail server! :-) I'll keep an eye out for the 1.x stable release, hopefully it will have MySQL support working. Maybe

Moving from 0.99 to 1.0-stable
What is involved in migrating from 0.99 to 1-stable? (I'd be creating a FreeBSD port to work with, but the main question I have is what would need to be done to configuration files.) assertion failed -0.99 -> 1.0-stable
Hello Timo, I've upgraded from dovecot-0.99 to dovecot-1.0-stable (the 2005-05-09 version) on FreeBSD 5.4 and encountered the following problems (problem #4 (assertion failed) made me downgrade back to dovecot-0.99...) : 1. mbox sync: UID inserted in the middle of mailbox /var/mail/gopauld (5230 > 4407) --> OK, that's documented on the Wiki, not a real problem 2. imap(cxxx):

0.99.11 (CentOS4 or RHEL4) to 1.0.rc7 upgrade folder issue
[Sending this again from the email account that I actually have subscribed to the list - hopefully won't be a dup...] We have been running dovecot-0.99.11-2.EL4.rpm on CentOS4 (since that's the latest that ships with RHEL/CentOS) for a while. Aalso in parallel, we have been running various 1.0 betas and RCs on a different port for a different set of more test-tolerant users. This

Question regarding dovecot 0.99.14 & 1.0 stable
Hi all, For several day's now I've been attempting to get Dovecot working, but without much success so far. I've compiled both 0.99.14 and the latest 1.0 stable version with mysql support, which seems to be working for the 0.99.14. Unfortunately version 1.0 stable wont start and quits with this: dovecot: Jun 13 16:44:47 Error: child 27346 (auth) killed with signal 11 dovecot:

dovecot-stable mbox weirdness
I just tested dovecot-stable from 2005-03-08 and 03-12 and saw the following behavior. All of my mbox folders show is the first message's header. None of the files were truncated (whew, saves a restore). I had 0.99.12.1 installed before this, and just switched back to 0.99.14. Both 0.99.x versions work fine. I removed all of the index files to see if there was a hiccup there, with
