IMAP folders missing after migrating to Dovecot
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello all, I'm migrating to Dovecot from Courier-IMAP. I use Postfix with Maildir for delivery. When I use Dovecot as the IMAP server all of my folders are missing, the only thing that remains is the Inbox folder. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have enclosed my configuration. Thanks, Chris - -- Chris Horry

miugrating mail to new server
Hi All, I've just a new server to help with migration of our email, the old email server is using mbox and the new is using Maildir. I've managed to some user mail migrated fine. The new server is only a temp server as I have too many users to migrate easily in one go(Also I want to nuke the current mailserver, remove SuSE and install Debian on it). So what i'm doing it

cutting everything after @
Hello, I am migrating one server to dovecot. The only problem is, that users have logins with @domain as part of their user name. I want to use pam auth (for other reasons, if only for dovecot, I would use mysql, but I need the same password db to be used for other services, like samba). Is there a way to allow this type of login? Just cut everything beginning with @. I can change the

Script to convert mboxes to maildirs?
Does anybody know of a script of a simple method of converting mbox mail stores to maildirs? I'm moving from an old pop3 system to imap and after installing about half our office with mboxes have found that mbox does not support subfolders which some people like to use. Is there any simple way of converting? I can go to each individual account and "manually" convert swaping data

Track when user last checked mail
First off I've just got to say thanks. We just upgraded from UW to Dovecot migrating from mbox to maildir. Wow, what a difference! Load average used to hang around 5.0 during business hours and could get up to 20+ on a bad day. Now we rarely break 1.0! I'm wondering if there's a way to keep track of the last time a user checked their email and whether they checked it using POP or

dovecot.index.cache 1/3rd of INBOX size
I've noticed that my dovecot.index.cache file has got very large (24MB, which is more than 1/3 of my INBOX size). I've tried deleting (well, renaming) the dovecot.index.* files, and re-opening my INBOX, and the new dovecot.index.cache is only 90KB so far. I'm using dovecot-1.0-stable and mbox format. My mail_cache_fields and mail_never_cache_fields are set to the default. Looking

1.0-test75 and roadmap for v1.0
http://dovecot.org/test/ Keywords are finally stored in maildir filenames and listed in "dovecot-keywords" file. It should be possible to just rename 0.99.x's .customflags file to dovecot-keywords (but it can't be renamed back after modification). Also fixed another uid/sequence mixup bug with setting keywords in general (in mbox too). Fixed SHA1 checksum generation with

bleah
Not to be a bitch, but I've asked several times about some basic questions or examples to clarify the essentials for configuration. What do some of the parameters mean? Expecially the ones that are mentioned only one in a paragraph and no where else in the documentation or wiki. (ie: login_process_per_use) And there have been a few others as well. that I won't bother to repeat. But

Is my Apache server running as the root user or not?
Heya.. By reading my /usr/local/etc/apache2/httpd.conf, I can find out that my Apache is running as the user "www" and the group "www" .. Yet, when I run sockstat, it tells me one of the forks are runned as root and listening on port 80 as well as the other forks are runned by www:www.. If I got a lot of users connecting to my server on port 80, will thier requests ever be

Problem with Samba 4.2/FreeBSD10.1
Hi Everyone, my first foray into Samba and AD both. Not sure if this is an OS or configuration problem. I've found similar issues, but nothing either recent enough (is related to samba 3) or close enough. FreeBSD-10.1-RELENG, Samba 4.2.2. I have the domain provisioned as rfc2307 I have joined a Win7-virtual machine to the domain I have created a new user with ADUC I have assigned 10000 to

Chrooting dovecot.
Greetings, I have installed Dovecot under FreeBSD 5_3 It is pretty impressive. I got SSL working with no problem for both imap and pop3. Besides that I do still want to chroot Dovecot. I noticed that there are some options in the dovecot.conf that are intended for this. Unfortunately online resources on how to do that can't be found on google. Although I'm running the server as user

IPFW compiled in kernel: Where is it reading the config?
Hi peeps, After compiling ipfw into the new 6.2 kernel, and typing "ipfw list", all I get is: "65535 deny ip from any to any" From reading the docs, this might indicate that this is the default rule. (I am certainly protected this way--but can't be very productive ;^) ) By the way, when I run "man ipfw" I get nothing. Using this instead:

login_process_per_user referred to but not present in dovecot.conf?
Hi, I find login_process_per_user referred to in the comments in dovecot.conf, but never set. Is this a typo and should it be login_process_per_connection or what? Thanks, Rob
