Test68 and Namespaces
Hello List, I am in the process of building a new mail system here. I am hoping to eventually migrate my users from mbox storage to maildir. They have been using mbox forever and would rather get used to maildir slowly. So I have come upon the idea of using namespaces to provide the different mailstores. Since this isn't available in the current stable, or at least I could not figure

1.0-test68 released
http://dovecot.org/test/ Recommended update, has had a lot of testing today. No new big features. Changes: - LDAP authentication should work finally? - Some header lookup fixes that should fix sort/threading issues - Don't crash with 0-byte size mboxes - Transaction log fixes. Also rotate .log file to .log.2 file, allowing more history and less "transaction log file lost"

rc12 dovecot-auth core dump with ldap
Hi, I've got a core dump during initialisation when I use 1.0.rc12 and LDAP with authenticated binds in Solaris. It worked OK in 1.0.rc10. Here's the non-commented entries in dovecot-ldap.conf - some of which are probably redundant :) :- hosts = xxx.yyy.rdg.ac.uk auth_bind = yes auth_bind_userdn = "cn=%n,cn=users,dc=xxx,dc=yyy,dc=rdg,dc=ac,dc=uk" ldap_version = 3 base =

default_ldap_settings' value
Hello, When I tested LDAP auth dovecot-auth caught segv, and I found that auth_cache_parse_key() doesn't check query == NULL. I think db-ldap.c/default_ldap_settings.pass_filter should have non-null default value. Please check following patch. regards, -- Kazuo Moriwaka <moriwaka at valinux.co.jp> Index: db-ldap.c

Warnings compiling on OpenBSD 4.4 i386
Hi, probably just nothing to worry about, but I get the following warnings when building 1.1.7 on OpenBSD 4.4 on i386. If I remove the --with-bsdauth config option, they all disappear. I won't use it anyway, but maybe there are others. $ dmesg OpenBSD 4.4 (GENERIC) #1021: Tue Aug 12 17:16:55 MDT 2008 deraadt at i386.openbsd.org:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC cpu0: Intel(R)

Help implementing username_format in auth PAM driver
While configuring my server with dovecot I noticed that the PAM authentication driver does not support the username_format option as does the password file driver. This didn't seem too hard to implement so I through together a patch. As you can see in the attached patch I only modify the username sent to PAM. Despit doing this I run into the domain lost

1.0-test69
http://dovecot.org/test/ - Several mbox fixes, upgrade recommended for test68 mbox users - Possibly fixes some IMAP hangs where Dovecot just stopped replying - Fixed delay-newmail workaround. It was badly broken before. And somewhat off topic advertisement: I got a bit distracted from Dovecot a week ago when a guy started mailing me about wanting to write an irssi2 client as a project to

Dovecot LDA with sieve scripting
I also placed dovecot-lda-0.1.tar.gz in http://dovecot.org/test/. It's also in dovecot-lda module in CVS. It's based on the same deliver binary that exists in Dovecot's sources, but I've also plugged in CMU Sieve (mostly because it was the easiest one to plug in). The code could be much prettier, but it works anyway :) I think at some point I'm going to try to make the

Standard dirs
Hi, thank to developers for such a flexible imap server. Is solves succesfully my needs to have a single passwd file for clients accessing both imap/imaps and pop3/pop3s protocols (on a diskless mail/web server with NFS maildirs and NFS indexes!). My question: With 1.0-test68 I have to set login_dir=/var/run/dovecot-login (just a dir not under /var/run/dovecot) instead of

wine and msdos applications
Hi! Windows Applications seem to run fine uder wine, but for any MSDOS-Application FILE, I get the following error: wine: can't exec 'FILE': invalid exe file Protocol error: process 0x806a100: partial recvmsg 0 for fd This happens regardless of winver/dosver (wine is called by 'wine --winver winxyz --dosver x.yz FILE'). What am I doing wrong? Do I need to start some kind of

1.0-stable update
Just a note, I backported some larger mbox changes from 1.0-test67. Hopefully works, but if you're going to try it test it well first :) Should fix some issues related to X-IMAP/X-IMAPbase header handling and maybe some other mbox related problems as well. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... pre-1.0.rc27: Index and mbox fixes
I've been doing some stress testing in the last few days and fixing all the errors I saw. I'm hoping that I've finally really fixed all the index/mbox problems. So, again I think the only thing left for v1.0 is the documentation. Please test this nightly snapshot before I'll release rc27 tomorrow: http://dovecot.org/nightly/dovecot-latest.tar.gz If you've seen any of the
