FC2 POP Configurtion
I'm a newbie to dovecot and a little bit less of a newbit to linux. I am in the process of moving my server from RH9 to FC2. The only obstacle remaining is my email. I run sendmail with netscape mail clients - mostly PC's. They all can read their mail but none of the users can send. Depending on the state of the dovecot.conf file, I get the following: Mar 28 16:04:14 corvette

Nested REST resource routes without controller name
I am curious if the following URL pattern is appropriate to use with REST and map.resources: Let''s say I want to build a website with information about cars. I decide that there will be a page to view/manage cars by model. The route for this is easily created: map.resources :cars The URLs look great. But now I want to introduce the ability to specify cars by year. I can do this by

Problems setting up Samba+LDAP PDC in Debian Sarge
Dear list, I have been struggling to get working a PDC using Samba with LDAP backend, in a fresh Debian Sarge install. 1. sendmail and saslauth2
OK. Why does saslauth ship on CentOS4 with a saslpasswd application that creates a db called /etc/sasldb and a sasldblistusers application that will look nowhere else while the sendmail that ships with it looks for /etc/sasldb2??? Where is this getting set? sendmail[25343]: unable to open Berkeley db /etc/sasldb2: No such file or directory Regards, Jim -- *** e-mail is not a secure channel

dovecot IMAP misserving problem?
http://togami.com/~warren/archive/2003/evolution-1.4.4-crash.mbox I suspect that dovecot-0.99.10 is misserving this message in some way that is confusing some IMAP clients. This behavior causes evolution-1.4.4 to segfault, and squirrelmail-1.4.1 to be unable to read the message. The same message served by uw-imapd works works fine in both evolution and squirrelmail.

CRASH: mail-cache-fields.c crash - new info, hacked 'solution'
I'm baaaaack. :-) I've managed to implement a suggestion from Hans Morten Kind from this list that seems to have stopped the crashing. However, my hack - commenting out a call to i_unreached() - makes me queasy because I have no idea of the ramifications of it (I don't habitually code, myself). So I wanted to lay it out for y'all in case this is a problem that you feel

Users with large (4GB) inboxes crippling dovecot
Hi all, I'm new here and would very much appreciate any help you can give me. We are running a rather outdated mail server that until recently has been running beautifully. Under the pretense of "it is ain't broke, don't fix it" it hasn't been updated so is running Fedora Core 4 and dovecot v0.99.14. What is happening is that as users log in (via thunderbird), they

[Fwd: Re: [Evolution] evo confused when searching message bodies on large folders?]
Is this possibly a problem with dovecot 0.99.10.9? Maybe it's been fixed in a later release? Might it be a security issue?
