Problem streaming to shoutcast w/ liveice
Maybe this is the wrong place to post, but...
When trying to start up liveice to a shoutcast server I'm getting the following
error, and then it dies and screws up the terminal emulation for my session.
Anyone seen this before?

Problem streaming to shoutcast w/ liveice
When you're streaming to a Shoutcast server w/ liveice (or any icecast
source tools), the port in liveice.cfg needs to be set to one port higher
than the Shoutcast server base port. Shoutcast uses the base port for
metadata & port+1 for the stream data.
If you exit liveice with ctrl-c (rather than the command it specifies) it
usually won't screw up your session settings.
Hope this

Different encodings on different ports
Hi all,
I'm looking to migrate from Shoutcast to Icecast. Our current
configuration is such that we have a low bitrate encoding on port 8000,
and a high bitrate encoding on 889. I've been looking through the
documentation but haven't found a good way to make this happen in
Icecast. We're using Darkice to stream to the server, and that does the
different enodings fine, but

domain admins not being applied to windows box
Hi,
I have recently upgaded from samba 2.2 to samba 3.0.
I used to have "domain admin group = @winadmin" in my smb.conf,
but I understand from the documentation that it is deprecated
in favour of
"net groupmap set "Domain Admin" winadmin".
I would expect unix users who are members of the
unix group winadmin to become Domain Admins, then,
but they don't ?.
Do I

Finding performance bottlenecks
Hi,
So is the KVM or Vmware as the host(s)? I basically have the same setup ie
3 x 1TB "raid1" nodes and VMs, but 1gb networking. I do notice with vmware
using NFS disk was pretty slow (40% of a single disk) but this was over 1gb
networking which was clearly saturating. Hence I am moving to KVM to use
glusterfs hoping for better performance and bonding, it will be interesting

Finding performance bottlenecks
Hi
I'm trying to setup a 3 node gluster, and am hitting huge performance
bottlenecks.
The 3 servers are connected over 10GB and glusterfs is set to create a 3
node replica.
With a single VM performance was poor, but I could have lived with it.
I tried to stress it by putting copies of a bunch of VMs on the servers
and seeing what happened with parallel nodes.. network load never broke

Does anyone know if sip phones from any of the major IP phone vendors
support 802.1x authentication? Any feedback would be greatly

dealing with blind transfers to invalid extensions
Running Asterisk 1.2.8 kernel 2.6.13.4-1.
Everything in my dialplan seems to be working well except for one
problem.
When calls are blind transferred to an invalid extension I would like
the call to go to the operator on ext 1000?
What is the best way to do this? Thanks in advance
Here's a snippet of my extensions.conf

Ldapscripts v1.0 !
Hi all,
I've been working on shell scripts that allow to manage ldap accounts (users,
groups, machines). They are similar to the smbldap-tools but do not need PERL to
work (and so on...) and are *very* simple to configure - they may be a good
alternative. The only tools you need are standard ldap client commands (ldapadd,
ldapdelete, ldapmodify, ldapsearch).
The scripts can be used as

How to serve two "inboxes" via imap
Hi
In our setup we have mail delivered to /var/spool/mail/<username>.
Many users like thunderbird as their MUA and we typically have
thunderbird set up to read mail using a movemail account with the local
mail directory set to ~/mail so that the mail can be read easily by pine
as well.
So, when a user clicks the "Get Mail" button in Thunderbird, mail is

An urgent problem that I have :

two possible inboxes, possible to check both?
We're currently in the process of organising a migration from mbox to maildir mail storage on our server, and are hoping to phase this in gradually using dovecot's capabilities. Procmail has already been configured to deliver mail to either the existing mbox or to a new maildir for the user based on the (non)existence of a .converted file in their home directory.
