Plotting multiple ablines
I really want to do this:
abline(
a=tan(-kT*pi/180),
b=kY-tan(-kT*pi/180)*kX
)
where kX,kY and kT are vectors of equal length. But I can't do that
with abline unless I use a loop, and I haven't figured out the least
unelegant way of writing the loop yet. So is there a way to do this
without a loop?
Or if I am to resort to the loop, what's the best way of doing it
considering that I

Inf and NA
Hi all,
I have a csv matrix "KT.csv" and it has Inf and NA
I want to calculate the mean of each row so I use
rowMeans(KT,na.rm = TRUE) but with this Inf cannot be omminted.
I?m trying to use before running rowMeans(KT,na.rm = TRUE)
KT<-range(KT,finite=TRUE)
but it doesn?t works...
Do you know a simple way to ommit Inf en the calculations?
Many thanks.
I have tried also to

Hi,
I'm trying to fit nonlinear mixed effects model using nlme function but getting an error message. Here is what I have:

random = b1+b2+b3~1,
groups= ~id,
data = sdat,

Error in eval(expr, envir, enclos) : object 'N' not found
I'm running an LSODA to generate some graphs, but I need to stop at a certain
point and use those values to generate another LSODA output. This is
working fine, but when I try to run the second LSODA, I get the "Error in
eval(expr, envir, enclos) : object 'N' not found". Any ideas what can be
causing this? I have no object 'N' anywhere in the script. I made an

removing (hopefully) unneeded access to $HOME
Hi,
Thanks for dovecot. It's the best IMAP server ever.
Okay, here's my problem:
I use mbox INBOXes from /var/spool/mail/%u, and the INDEX lies in
/var/spool/mail/dovecot/%d/%u. Users' other folders are found in /%h/mail.
Now, I notice that when a user is accessing her INBOX, the imap process cwd's to
the user's home, which I'd like to prevent as much as possible.

Plotmath: suprscript on scalable delimiter?
ComRades,
How do you put a superscript on a scalable delimiter?
I want to put 'b' as the power of the expression in the following plot:
t <- 1:25
K <- 0.2
y <- ((1-exp(-K*t))/(1-exp(-K*t)*exp(K)))^3
plot(t,y,"l",main="K=0.2, b=3")
text(15,5,expression(bgroup("(",frac(1-e^-Kt,1-e^-Kt*e^K),")")))
Plotmath examples in demo(plotmath) do not

My suggestion would be to add a pause or two before dialing the phone number

I think I finally fixed the hangs some people have been having when
downloading mails. For some reason I could never reproduce this problem
with Linux or Solaris, but with OpenBSD it happened immediately. Stupid
problem with marking output buffer empty if it was full and write()
returned EAGAIN.
Other changes include:
- LDAP initialization crashed

maildrop and multi-dbox
Hi there,
I'm using Dovecot 2.0.9-1 under Arch Linux.
Currently, I have Maildir configured, and I move all my emails into
dovecot by using this sequence:
1) cron starts fetchmail periodically under user manfred to collect my
mails from various email accounts.
2) In ~/.fetchmailrc I have configured /usr/bin/maildrop as MDA.
3) In ~/.mailfilter (used by maildrop) I have extensive filtering in

Reorder the x-axis using lattice
Dear list,
Is there a way to reorder the xaxis using lattice. Using the following data, the x-axis is ordered as BP GH MH PF RE RP SF VT but I would like the x-axis to be ordered as PF RP BP GH VT SF RE MH.
