Polycom IP 500 SIP bootrom and firmware upgrades
I am using version 1.4.1.0040 and 2.6.1.0003. I have read about newer
versions out there, how can I get them? I'm having an intermittent issue
regarding DHCP with one of my phones, and I recall when I loaded 1.4.1 on
this one phone, it failed once, then it succeeded the second time.
I am wondering if a firmware update will help. Or is there any known issues
with Fedora Core 2 dhcpd and IP

POP3 download problem
Hi All
I am experiencing a mail download problem with dovecot's pop3 protocol. We
use outlook XP 2002 mail clients and I have setup a mail system with pop
accounts on a Fedora 2 installation using dovecot.
Some of the clients download email fine but others do not download email and
also do not give any error messages. I have enabled the "verbose" options in

[PATCH] change old style SASL discovery code
Hello,
this patch reworks old-style SASL discovery code. With this
patch applied it advertises all configured SASL mechanisms.
It makes possible for MS Outlook to use all installed
security service providers (SSP), so if someone crazy enough
will write CRAM-MD5 or DIGEST-MD5 SSP we'll support it readily :)
Please consider applying.
Best regards.

thunderbird pop3 delete bug workaround
Following is patch that allows tbird to download and redelete the last
deleted message.
Not particularily nice but for "normal" usage the bug/workaround is not
triggered.
Tested with huge inbox.

EOF from net_disconnect(fd)
I?m working on an OS project from github. There are two parts:
Dovecot plugin - https://github.com/st3fan/dovecot-xaps-plugin
Daemon written in Go - https://github.com/st3fan/dovecot-xaps-daemon
# dovecot --version
2.2.10
Both parts worked fine on CentOS 6 but I recently rebuilt them both for CentOS 7 and have run into some errors.
The plugin sends a notification over a socket to

[LLVMdev] Runtime Array-Length
All,
I am building my own language with llvm as the base.
I was working on string concatenation (where a string is just an array of
characters cast to a pointer to a character (i8*) ). Given two strings, it
is possible to determine the length of new string by summing the number of
characters until the null terminator and adding one.
Unfortunately, I have no idea how to use the c-api to store

verbose imap logging
Implements more verbose imap logging (when client exits).
Similar to existing logging in POP3.
Due to the nature of imap and my incomplete understanding (of the
dovecot code) the session statistics reported have varying accuracy.
Much better than nothing IMO.
Cheers,
Jens

Enforcing STARTTLS for all mechs while disabling imaps
Hi all,
Is there a way to enforce STARTTLS for all connections, regardless their
authentication mechanism? disable_plaintext_auth only takes care of the auth
conversation, but I would like to have all communication encrypted.
As far as I can see, this would only be possible when using imaps and
disabling imap. However, I would like to have the other way around;
disabling imaps and using imap for

Can Asterisk ring a specific extension based on the number the outside caller dialed?
I am thinking of having a pots line with multiple numbers on it, and having
Asterisk dial my desk if the outside caller dials xxx-xxx-xxx1, and ring
another desk if the person called xxx-xxx-xxx2, etc.
Can Asterisk do this?

Leave copy on server problem.
Hello, I am using Dovecot 0.99.14-r1 with mbox format.
I have a problem with the option "Leave copy on server", the messages are
duplicated. I tried many options but I can?t find the solution. The last test was:
I modified in src/pop3/commands.c (function list_uids())
the folowing things:
"...
client_send_line(client, message == 0 ?

Defer email via LMTP when there is 'no space left on device' instead of rejecting it
Hello dovecot-users,
(This problem was being discussed a little in this thread from 2011:
http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2011-May/059009.html)
I noticed (using LMTP) that Dovecot handles 'no space left on device'
just like an 'over-quota', if I read this part of method "static int

[LLVMdev] Runtime Array-Length
The toy language I've been playing around with represents all strings as a
struct in llvm;
struct string{
char *ptr;
int str_len;
int buffer_len;
}
And my AST has an interface like;
String_AST{
int measure();
void copy(char *dest);
struct string get_value();
}
A constant string can be measured at compile time, for a string variable
measure() just extracts str_len. Strings

EOF from net_disconnect(fd)
I'm not the originator. I'm just trying to do some maintenance on the code to make it work for CentOS 7.
I'll check out those two.
Any ideas on how to check exactly what's sent via the socket? If the EOF is sent, I know to dig further into the daemon code.
Thanks,

Crash in pop3 with version 2.2.12
Hi,
today I upgraded to version 2.2.12 under Debian Squeeze.
I saw some people on the list they had the same problems with version 2.2.11, but which should have been fixed in version 2.2.12.
My logfile shows:
