Why does dovecot confuse mutt?
Heylas, I just switched my primary mail server from courier imap to dovecot (I've been waiting to do this; dovecot showed up in debian testing for alpha, at last). So, using the same set of maildirs, there are slightly different behaviors. First, of course, dovecot displays the hierarchy as I thought it ought to be, such that INBOX is a sibling of all other top-level boxes, not the parent

freenx in rootless mode and session resume anyone?
Hi I suceeded to run freenx on centos3 with the nomachine client, but I still have some issues. First I can only get a new whole desktop (kde) session. I cannot resume it, and it always leave tons of process that I have to kill from root. I don't need the whole kde desktop, and only want to have single windows. This is called the rootless mode I think and cannot make it work, it simply

I already tried nfs-root iscsi-root and aoe-root all these setups works perfect, what about making xen running rootless I mean in ramdisk ? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list

Tricks to running as normal user?
Hi, I'm running on HPUX 11.11 and have installed dovecot 0.99.12 in my home directory. I've been running it at home on FC2 and had no problems. At work, on HPUX, when I modify the dovecot.conf file like is suggested in the wikki <http://wiki.dovecot.org/moin.cgi/Rootless>, it will detach and I can telnet to the port I've chosen, but I don't get any response back

Setting up a 'rootless' server - user and auth_user cannot be the same
I am trying to follow http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/Rootless to set up a personal dovecot server that does not use 'root' and does not need to change uids/gids. I'm trying to set it up on a Cygwin personal system. The problem I'm running into though, the directions say to set "user" and "auth_user" to be the same in this setup. However when you do this, Dovecot

passwd authentication issues (ATTN: Petar)
Hi, Petar, For whatever reason, I didn't see your most recent reply until I checked the web archives. To answer your questions... Is my dovecot running chrooted? Not that I know of. However, the option to (apparently) decide this is confusing at best. Here is what I have entered. # chroot login process to the login_dir. Only reason not to do this is if you # wish to run the whole

mail without mta
Dear list! I'd like to know if some- one has experience with system running no mta (aka sendmail). I have single comp, not server, not lan. Yes! Sendmail is nice, but it is too big for simple tasks I have for it. My intention is to use apps small as possible. This letter gone from mutt directly to ssmtp, that processed it to my isp. (Setting option for sendmail as

For Mac OS X users... Xquartz and RandR.
Just as a note.. Xquartz is going to have RANDR capabilities in Xquartz 2.6.0, thanks to the work of Jeremy Huddleston and Jan Hauffa. Right now on Macports if you install xorg-server-devel it will be a build with what is currently in of RandR... its still not totally finished, but it would be nice if some Mac Users could test how it works so far with Wine... if we find bugs now, it could help

Rootless configuration
I'm trying to setup a rootless configuration so I can better manage the e-mail that comes to the mailbox of a unix account I have. I've successfully compiled Dovecot and followed the instructions for a rootless configuration, tweaking my config until Dovecot returns no errors. However I've got to a stage where upon running ~/..../sbin/dovecot it just quits with no server running and

VOICEMAIL : I've tried a lot but mailing through Asterisk is just not working...
Don't be afraid about the info that I'm going to post in this mail, but I want you to give as much info as possible. Also I want to show you what I've tried. What do I want When a voicemail-message is left via the Voicemail()-application, I want the .wav-file send to my mail-address as an attachment. My mail-setup I'm not using sendmail as MTA. I have msmtp as MTA and mutt as

freenx-0.5.0-8.c4.noarch.rpm is in testing
We have created a new version of freenx (freenx-0.5.0-8.c4.noarch.rpm) and moved it to the testing repo. This is based on the code displayed at the LWE in San Francisco ... http://lwn.net/Articles/146825/ http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/8489 (though it is not officially released as stable by the freenx people) This version should handle printing and reconnecting to running sessions much

Mail.app help
I'm having a problem with Mail.app and imap folders. I've got a new install of dovecot 1.0beta2, and am only experiencing this problem with Mail. Mutt works as expected, as well as thunderbird. When I create a folder using Mail.app, it is written to ~/Maildir/.INBOX.newfolder, which would be fine, if I wasn't telling everything that I wanted no prefixes. If I move that folder to

Hello, I am having problems getting freenx running in CentOS 4.5 i386_64. I know this is not a new problem, however, I havn't found a solution in all the postings I found on the web. I did exactly what is supposed to work and described in detail at http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/FreeNX After doing that I can connect to the server with nxcleint without problem but I get only a black

dovcot+offlineimap+gmail: INBOX empty, mail doubled
Hello I have used for years offlineimap-6.2.0 dovecot-imapd 1:1.2.9 in Kubuntu 10.04 Together with a imap server of my university. Yesterday we switched to google, which I know, is not a real imap server. I have 2 problems and the first I think has to do with either an old version of offlineimap or a bad configuration file: - All folders are downloaded+ Gmail[All Mail] so doubling

SMTP Client authentication to remote Postfix/Dovecot
Hello! This is probably another basic question and i'm not even sure if it's something where Dovecot is involved, but i'll give it a shot. So i've setup Postfix with Dovecot and system-auth on my remote server. So far it looks like everything is working fine and dandy via SASL(PLAIN) and TLS. I'm just not happy about my local SMTP client settings. I'm going to try to

dovecot-smtp connection?
This may be a dumb question, but I'll ask because... :) I've got dovecot installed and running successfully on OpenBSD 3.9 (this *really* was an easy setup, my hat's off to the developer(s)). And the other employees can now use MS Access to read their mail (they didn't like mutt and pine via SSH - go figger'). So my final challenge is to get things configured so that
