Kernel panic on Dell 1850
I'm attempting to upgrade to kernel-smp-2.4.21-27.0.4.EL (x86_64) on a
Dell 1850. The new kernel is panicing on reboot. When comparing
against the current working kernel, I just noticed that we're currently
running the "UP" kernel:
[root at polaris root]# uname -srvp
Linux 2.4.21-27.0.2.EL #1 SMP Wed Jan 19 11:49:43 CST 2005 x86_64

Changing booted Kernel with grub
Hi,
I have updated the kernel to 2.4.21-27.0.2 on Centos 3.4 (was 3.3 when
I did the kernel update) and have modified grub.conf to use the single
CPU kernel:
# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg.

self-heal trouble after changing arbiter brick
Hi Karthik,
Thank you for your reply. The heal is still undergoing, as the /var/log/glusterfs/glustershd.log keeps growing, and there's a lot of pending entries in the heal info.
The gluster version is 3.10.9 and 3.10.10 (the version update in progress). It doesn't have info summary [yet?], and the heal info is way too long to attach here. (It takes more than 20 minutes just to collect

Hey,
Did the heal completed and you still have some entries pending heal?
If yes then can you provide the following informations to debug the issue.
1. Which version of gluster you are running
2. gluster volume heal <volname> info summary or gluster volume heal
<volname> info
3. getfattr -d -e hex -m . <filepath-on-brick> output of any one of the
which is pending heal from all

Hi Karthik,
Thank you very much, you made me much more relaxed. Below is getfattr output for a file from all the bricks:

can i get .spec file for apache httpd of centos?
Hi All,
Currently my system is using httpd 2.2.27. As there were many Vulnerability fixes released under 2.2.29, I would like to upgrade the Apache httpd.
My system is having CentOS 6.5.
I checked on CentOS Repos using yum but could not find the latest httpd rpm from there. So I am building the httpd rpm from the source tar ball downloaded from apache site.
I am able to build the rpm successfully

Kernel panic loading second fritz card
Hi Everyone,
Long time reader, first time poster.
FINALLY got my First AVM Fritz Card up and running under Centos 3.4
Installed the second....modified the drivers etc as per the instructions
found at the wiki
System boots
Modprobe capi
all good
modprobe fcpci
all good
modprobe f2pci
the kernel then goes into Panic
If Modprobe f2pci before fcpci the kernel still goes into panic.

New kernel causes kernel panic/unable to mount root
Hi,
I've just moved over to an Opteron 246 dedicated server and have used
up2date to install the latest kernel (2.4.21-27.0.4.Elsmp). However, when
the machine reboots it never comes back up and according to the datacentre
technicians, this is what's happening:
VFS: Cannot open root device"806" or 08:06
Please append a correct "root=" boot option

This wierd and wacky thing has just started for no apparent reason
no upgrades were done no system mods were performed, the file server is
just never played with except to add shares, testparm says all OK.
