Dovecot returns everything starting with "." as folder
Hi, I'm using dovecot imapd 0.99.10.5 from debian unstable and I noticed that dovecot returns everything in the maildir folder that starts with a "." as a folder as the result of LIST "" "%" command without checking if it is really a maildir folder (must contain the directories cur, new, tmp and the file maildirfolder). This is a little bit annoying because

Fedora dovecot Testing Needed
http://people.redhat.com/wtogami/temp/dovecot/ dovecot-0.99.10.5 binary packages for FC1 and FC2 are available here. I need feedback from Fedora users with THESE ACTUAL BINARIES before pushing them to official updates. Note: This does not solve the SSL related crash issue. That requires a patch to OpenSSL or kernel. I am still trying to convince the maintainers to patch it. Warren Togami

dovecot + Fedora core 1
Hi, I've installed dovecot-0.99.10.5 using the rpm from Dag Wieers, but when I start it all I get is nothing (but none of the processes are running). I checked the config file and set it up (I'm trying to use it with mysql support, but it doesn't work with traditional config) Any ideas -- Pablo Endres <epablo at comvoz.com> ComVoz Communications USA: +1 954 343-2085

Bug? High CPU Usage after nessus scan
Hi all, I think I've found a Bug in current rc2 (same occours with rc1 and 0.99.9.1). I'am running dovecot with imap, pop3 and the ssl equivalents, after a nessus scan of my host with Bruteforce checks on IMAP, imap-login eats up lots of cpu. Before the scan: dovecot 22342 0.0 0.1 2320 636 ? SN Jun18 0:00 imap-login dovecot 5841 0.0 0.1 2320 692 ? SN Jun21

Debian packaging: newest git version?
Hi, I'm considering packaging syslinux from your git repository (topmost commit "ext4: Fix 64bit feature") for Debian. Currently syslinux version 6.03 is packaged, but the patch queue is quite large (18 patches at the moment, mostly cherry-picked from your git repository). I think updating has advantages: * I can drop most of the patches, making it easier to deal with issues

compile with dietlibc
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, I'm used to test the software which I use with dietlibc, just to see if it could run without the bloat of glibc. migrating from cyrus
Hi all, I want to migrate our customers mailserver (400 mail accounts), from cyrus-2.0.16 to Dovecot. Anyone an idea how I can preserve the read/unread status and what can I do with the UIDL? (cyrus used a different algorithm for UIDL). Thanks in advance. Best regards, Jens Gutzeit

why ADD_DNAT_ALIASES missing?
hi, is there any reason why there is no such thing as ADD_DNAT_ALIASES in shorewall.conf or in rules (or am i just missed it)? i think about it like in masq file if the masquaraded outgoing interface is different from the default firewall intyerface than i can use ip:<digit> where the digit is the alias number. since dnat is in the rules it can be used from there. eg: if would like to dnat

Corrupted index file
Hi, I've been wondering for a while if reiserfs is dovecot+maildir safe or not. I get this too often (and my imap session gets disconnected): Jun 9 08:42:32 sun imap(nk): Corrupted index file /home/nk/Maildir/.INBOX/.imap .index: UIDVALIDITY changed in uidlist This happens always when a new mail arrives in maildir. It's a Fedora Core 2 box running dovecot-0.99.10.4-4 (redhat) package.

Automaticaly unlock files
Hi all, I've been looking for an answer for this issue but Google didn't help. So I resource to the next best thing: the Samba mailing list. Question: Is there a way to automaticaly, after a certain amount of time, unlock a file after, for example, a client crash or network problem? I know how to do it manually of course, but that is, well, cumbersome. I've looked at

Does the newest version support Mulitibyte NETBIOS name?
Dear Sir, I remember that I can use multibyte NETBIOS name (just as Traditional Chinese) in Microsoft Windows to talk with the previous version of samba (maybe 2.0.7). But since I use 2.2.3a (which is included in RedHat 7.3), the log file name is incorrect when the client use multibyte NETBIOS name. And when I use the newest version (2.2.6), if the client use multibyte NETBIOS name, then the

Flash problems in newest upgrade?
Hi, I just upgraded to the newest kernel and Flash. Hulu now "grays out" when I try to go to full screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the proprietary video drivers (no difference either way), so I'm guessing it has something to do with either the new Flash or the new kernel. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Thanks for any pointers. -- RonB -- Using CentOS 5.5
