[RFC][PATCH] direct-io: btrfs: avoid splitting dio requests for non-btrfs filesystems
Hi,
this is about an issue newer kernels show, bysplitting direct I/O requests
into 4k pieces to directly merge them in the Block Device Layer afterwards.
If anyone is interested in own tests just use a simple command like
dd if=/mnt/test/test-dd1 of=/dev/null iflag=direct bs=64k count=1
in combination with blktrace.
The following patch is more a proposal for discussion than a solution, well

Potential hang in virtnet_send_command
Hi,
I was debugging an issue caused by a bad usage of dpdk.
That is fixed in the meantime and I'll backport that into our code as well.
But along debugging that, I found a potential hang in virtnet_send_command
that my case ran into.
The following code can become an infinite loop:
/* Spin for a response, the kick causes an ioport write, trapping

Help on dovecot, imap, maildir and subfolders
I have Fedora Core 2 and dovecot-0.99.10.5-0. I've
done nothing to configure it but it seems to have
found the Mail dir in my home directory ok and I can
connect using IMAP. But I can't create subfolders.
If I right click on inbox, there's a 'New Folder...',
but if I create one then right click on it, no more
'New Folder...'. So it seems folders can only go one

Subfolders with Thunderbird and maildir?
I setup a test dovecot-1.0-0.beta8.2.fc5 and left most of the settings
as the defaults. In Thunderbird 1.5.0.8 Windows, when I tried to create
a subfolder named "subfolder" under INBOX, it showed up as the same
level a INBOX and with the name "INBOX^subfolder".
I was able to manually create a subfolder using "mkdir

Need subfolders - convert to Maildir & how?
I just installed Dovecot and it is working great.
But I need subfolders. Does this mean I need to convert to Maildir
format? I found several tools to do the conversion, but is there
anything that needs to be changed in Dovecot to make the switch?
Any advice appreciated.
Thank you,

Quota and maildir does not work with subfolders of INBOX
Hi,
we just upgraded on FreeBSD (11.2-p14) from Dovecot 2.2 to Dovecot
2.3.7.2 and now we have kind of a big problem: the quota-plugin does not
work correctly anymore. If a user has a subfolder of the INBOX (like
.INBOX.foobar) the quota-calculation does not work anymore. It seems to
be arbitrary but users get counted like double and more than they
actually have in mails (the number of mails is

Using custom Maildir subfolders with pop3 deliveri
Greetings,
I am trying to make my antispam protection on user basis. So I need
something like .junkmail folder in every user maildir. But the problem
I am having is that my mail client can not download mail put in
.junkmail folder.
I am usin POP3 only, Maildir mailboxes (default_mail_env =
maildir:/var/mail/%u) and whether I make folder with leadin dot or not
it is never shown in mail client.

That sounds like a misconfiguration of the IMAP client. Someone has gone in and improperly set INBOX as the IMAP path Prefix in their MUA.

Sub-Sub-Subfolders not shown after converting from maildir to mdbox
Hi again,
I just recognized a problem concerning subfolders after converting from
maildir to mdbox. Thunderbird and SeaMonkey don?t show folders that are
subfolders of subfolders.
Have a look at the filesystem:
discovery:/var/mail/domain.tld/patrick/mdbox/mailboxes/Folder1/Folder2#
ls -l

rsync files from subfolders on source to root of a folder on destination
I wish to sync a bunch of flac files that reside in various subfolders

An example of the directory structure on the source is:

deleting folders containing subfolders with thunderbird (mbox format) bug
When using Thunderbird (dovecot-0.99.13-3.FC3) on Fedora connecting to
dovecot-0.99.13-3.FC3 I am having problems deleting folders which have
been created with the 'Allow your new folder to contain: Folders only'

The folder appears to get deleted but upon restarting Thunderbird the
folder still appears to be there but clicking on it I get the error:

Subfolder in Maildir
Hello,
We have installed a brand new Dovecot because it seems very interesting as
an IMAP server. We created a mailbox for a test user and we succeeded in
copying some mails into it.
However making subfolders does not work. The only folders we can create are
in the root, next to the INBOX that is. We thought Maildir does support
subfolders (as opposed to mbox), are we wrong here?
