Imaptest using the 'DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE -- FOLDER INTERNAL DATA'
I just noticed that the imaptest program is using this default first
message 'DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE -- FOLDER INTERNAL DATA' of the mbox
file to test with. I think this should be execluded, as one does not
expect this behaviour.

UW-IMAP -> Dovecot : patch to remove nasty "internal messages" from UW-IMAP ?
Hello there,
We want to move from UW-IMAP to Dovecot (mbox format), works like a
charm, but UW-IMAP has that bloody habbit to make a stupid message in
all his mailbox files :

dovecot 2.0rc2 Cannot delete a folder with Thunderbird (delete, not move to Trash)
With Thunderbird 3.1 I can now "delete" a folder which moves it to
Trash. But I cannot remove the folder in Trash.
The following is from the Thunderbird log file:

"Trash/test10"
248[6814c00]: 8103800:imap.kzone.ch:A:CreateNewLineFromSocket: 64 OK
Rename completed.

DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE?
I have a new install of FC5 running dovecot 1.0.0 beta 2.7. I get my
mail with POP3 but I have a user using IMAP. They both work great
but I keep getting a message from dovecot in my mail saying DON'T
DELETE THIS MESSAGE -- FOLDER INTERNAL DATA. I think it is there to
help keep track of IMAP messages. Since I use POP3 is there any way
not to have it show up all the time? I've

FOLDER INTERNAL DATA (uw pine header)
Hello!
I run Dovecot on CentOS 4 (dovecot-1.1.4-0_81.el4), and I *also* run the
"Alpine" mail system that comes with that OS. Alpine still writes out the
'FOLDER INTERNAL DATA' pseudo-message at the beginning of each user's
mbox, but dovecot does not. I make use of that record as a simle/quick way
to verify when a user actually last read their e-mail (for administrative

Can't get Thunderbird 2 to delete a folder under mdbox (Dovecot 2.0beta5)
Can't get Thunderbird 2 to delete a folder under mdbox (Dovecot 2.0beta5)
I have built Dovecot 2.0 and installed it under "/opt/dovecot2".
I have done the minimum configurations necesary to get it to work with
SSL, systems users but with a secondary password database, and set up
mail location as "mdbox:~/dbox".
I had to create the directory "dbox" in the

Auto delete older messages in SPAM folder
Hello,
I use Cyrus in my mailservers and I intend to migrate it to Dovecot.
Cyrus has a setting that purge the emails from a mailbox under a
pre-defined criteria. For example:
EVENTS {
...
# At 12:01 delete messages older than 60 days in SPAM folder
deletespam cmd="ipurge -d 60 -f user/*/SPAM" at=1201
}
Is there in Dovecot any setting like this ?
Thank you.

NFS, deleting folder issue
Hi there,
I use dovecot on a server with some Nightmare File Systerm (aka NFS)
storage.
When I delete a folder, its content gets deleted, but the folder itself
does not.
Here's what I found:
#### Step 1: From a shell, telnet to imap, then create a folder
cpetrescu at cpetrescu-mobile:~$ telnet server1.localdomain 143
Trying 10.200.28.36...

deleted Messages don't go into Trash Folder always
Hi all,
most of the time deleted messages aren't moved into trash folder but go
into nirwana. Sometimes it works correctly. But a restart does not
guarantee this function. This effect exists with different imap clients.
Can anybody help please.

Weird internaldate behavior with 1.0-test80 and mbox folder
Has anyone else encountered weird date behavior with mbox-style folders?
I am nearly ready to bite the bullet and convert my UW imap hierarchy
(which is in mbx format) to Dovecot. In so doing, I need to convert each
UW-specific mbx-format mailboxes to the more portable mbox format, which
Dovecot can read. (This is done with the 'mbxcvt' utility that's part of
UW.)
I am then

Hot to get rid of \"DON\'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE\" messages?
I'm using Dovecot 1.0.0 (mbox) with Postfix 2.4 on my FreeBSD box, as a pop3-only server (imap is disabled). All account mailboxes are accessed using Outlook clients.
I've noticed that, whenever I'm retrieving mail with pop3, a "DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE" is created in mbox. Although these messages are never sent to client MUAs, I found them very annoying.

Can't delete sub-folder
Hi list,
I have problem with deleting sub-folder.
I use thunderbird 8.0 as a client and dovecot 2.0.9 with imap protocol

mbox mailboxes and thunderbird with *not checked* option 'server

Cannot delete IMAP Mail-Folder in Trash
Hello,
the folders exist physically in vmail-storage on filesystem for the
given Mailbox\MailDir\Trash. I already tried to refresh subscription
using IMAP on Thunderbird. Is there any other way using CLI and dovecot
to (re-)check subscriptions or do some kind of rescan?
Trying to delete the physically (in file-system on server) existing
folders using IMAP always complains that the folder is
