Quantstrat; error with applyStrategy()
I'm testing out quantstrat using a simple one-indicator strategy.
The error I get after applyStrategy(...) is
Error in .xts(e, .index(e1), .indexCLASS = indexClass(e1), .indexFORMAT = indexFormat(e1), :
index length must match number of observations
In addition: Warning messages:

quantstrat questions
Quantstrat useRs,
I have a number of questions about how to use quantstrat that I have accumulated since I have begun playing with it. First, can the orderqty be dynamic? All of the examples I have seen are based on placing an order for 100 shares when a rule is triggered. Is it possible to set it up to buy the maximum number of shares given the starting or current equity? Similar to that

For loop question
I have this code:
IEF <- to.monthly(IEF, indexAt="endof")
SPY <- to.monthly(SPY, indexAt="endof")
I would like to use a for loop instead of separate entries,
so the only code that needs to be modified is the list
of symbols.
symbols <- c("IEF", "SPY")
for(symbol in symbols) {
symbol <- to.monthly(symbol, indexAt="endof")
}

biplot
Dear list,
I want to perform a biplot, using customized titels for the x and y axis.
Setting xlab="" and ylab="" resulted in an error, e.g.:
> data(USArrests)
> biplot(princomp(USArrests),xlab="",ylab="")
Error in biplot.default(t(t(scores[, choices])/lam), t(t(x$loadings[, :

dataframes and factors
Dear R-List,
I have a dataframe X containing factor f and numeric variable x1, x2, ... I
want to create a new dataframe (or possibly a matrix) that gives statistics
(e.g. sum) for the variables x1, x2, ... in each group defined by factor f.
What is the simplest way to do this?
I tried:
attach(X)
Z <- data.frame(f=levels(f),x1=as.vector(lapply(split(x1,f),sum)))
and stumbled on:

window(): feature request
Dear R-developpers,
currently the function window shows the following behaviour, if start or
end is out of range:

> y <- window(x,start=c(1950,1),end=c(1953,4))
Warning messages:

2: end value not changed in: window.default(x, ...)
Instead of this I would like it to fill with NAs the

Checksumming problem in pv_ops dom0 kernel / netback
Hello,
I seem to be having some troubles regarding the latest 2.6.31.6 and 2.6.32.9 Xen dom0 pv_ops trees.
Our platform:
-Xen 3.4.3-rc3 (also tried 3.4.2 on 2.6.31.6 pv_ops dom0)
-2.6.32.9 pv_ops dom0 kernel, perhaps a week old checkout from xen/stable git (can provide changeset if requested).
-100+ domU''s, all PV.
Ever since we switched to a pv_ops dom0 kernel (we were using 2.6.26

Faking it... import local files into attachment_fu
Hello,
I''m working on an import utility that will match the functionality of
uploading an object of a model that uses attachment_fu for
thumbnailing, etc.
Rather than uploading the file via a form, I want to populate the
params[:image][:uploaded_data] with data from a file already on the
server''s file system.
So far, I''ve been able to copy to an instance of Tempfile

x-server
Dear all,
first, I would like to thank R-core team for making so a great
software available. Thank you all, really!
Using R (1.0.0) on a Win98 platform, I need an x-server to run
xgobi (through R xgobi interface). I've been using a MI/X server but
trying to upgrade I noticed that MI/X is no longer available for free.
Similarly, eXceed is available at evaluation version (for a limited
