kernlab:ksvm:eps-svr: bug?
Hi, A. In a nutshell: The training error, obtained as "error (ret)", from the return value of a ksvm () call for a eps-svr model is (likely) being computed wrongly. "nu-svr" and "eps-bsvr" suffer from this as well. I am attaching three files: (1) ksvm.R from the the kernlab package, un-edited, (2) ksvm_eps-svr.txt: (for easier reading) containing only eps-svr

Folks, Having trouble getting this to work. OMEGA cgi is not reading my stub file properly because it is trying to read it as a directory instead of a file. Is there an easy fix? Plot.svm error
Hi all, Sorry to be bothering again with probably an easy error to fix, but I've been trying to solve the problem and haven't been able yet to do it. So I'm doing this: > dados<-read.table("b.txt",sep="",nrows=30000) >

Svm formula
Hi all, I don't know how to choose the formula to use when plotting an svm model, I think I'm using the wrong one and so that is why I'm having trouble. I should be very grateful if someone could help me on this.. > dados<-read.table("b.txt",sep="",nrows=30000) >

problem to get a correct output
Dear, I am new user of 'R' (package e1071) and the first thing I did was reading the manuals. Although it was not clear for me how it works. My problem is the following: I have a data set of customers data of insurances with variables Class, Group Distance Claim. The file called 'xx.dat'. Using the manuals I think I had entered the data in the program. I used several function,

best.svm
Hi I am trying to fit an svm to predict speech recognition errors. I am using best.svm like this: svm.model = best.svm(data[1:3000,1:23],data[1:3000,24],tunecontrol = tune.control()) I got this: > print(svm.model) Call: best.svm(x = data[1:3000, 1:23], tunecontrol = tune.control(), data[1:3000, 24]) Parameters: SVM-Type: eps-regression SVM-Kernel: radial cost: 1

e1071 package for SVM
Dear all, I got a code for e1071 package in R for SVM regression. I have used *m$coefs* for extracting the coefficients but I am getting only 72 . How can I extract coefficients of the predictors set? Does it mean that I will get only 72 as *Number of Support Vectors: 72. * ** Thanks in advance Code: -------------- library(e1071) > # create data > x <- seq(0.1, 5,

SVM comparison
I'm trying to run an epsilon regression model, and am comparing the results between e1071 and kernlab. I believe that I'm calling the ksvm and svm functions the same way but I'm getting different results: library(e1071); library(kernlab) ksvm(x=1:100, y=(1:100)/5, type="eps-svr", kpar=list(sigma=1)) svm(x=1:100, y=(1:100)/5, type="eps-regression", gamma=0.5) I

Re: [R} stars graphs
I thought about that star graph again, and realized that it would be quite a handy thing for visualizing cyclic data like time or compass direction. Here is a cleaned up (and renamed) version to do a polar plot that starts at the right and goes counterclockwise or a 24 hour clock plot that starts at the top and goes clockwise. There are probably other varieties that would be interesting. Jim

Polar plot, circular plot (angular data): II
Dear R-users, As noted by Paul Murrell < p.murrell at auckland.ac.nz > there is errors in the code for polar plotting I send to R-help under the title "Polar plot, circular plot (angular data)" at Thu Oct 17 2002 - 12:18:20 CEST. Thanks! I have reorganized the code into a structure ('pp'). This allows plots to be modified to a greater extent by passing arguments by ...

Hello all. First of all, please be a bit indulgent to my poor English :-). Second, this message is "kinda" BIG, so if you don''t like BIG messages, simply don''t read it :-). I''ve read http://shorewall.net/2.0/Shorewall_and_Routing.html and http://shorewall.net/MultiISP.html, however I still a bit confused how to organize what I need :-). I''ve a

Polar plot, circular plot (angular data)
Dear R-users, Hereby a polar plot function for plotting angular data. I hope it will be usefull for some of you. I had a need to plot frequencies of wind-directions. The not-that-cheap SigmaPlot software did not allow me to change the orientation of the angular axis to clockwise orientation (what is used for meteorological observations). I even tried the latest version availible at the time

mfrow is ignored by some plots
Hi all, I was just informed that the plots in the radial.plot family in the plotrix package do not plot correctly when using mfrow or mfcol to subdivide the plot window. I found one related message, an answer from Deepayan Sarkar to a question about lattice graphics, but that shed no light on this problem. If I invoke par(mfrow=c(2,2)) and run radial.plot a few times, the plots appears in
