how to draw manifold?
Hi,
I need some help either in how to configure variables for wireframe(),
or some suggestions as to other graphics commands to use for plotting a
2-D manifold in 3-D space.
Here is an example I tried (in the hopes that it would plot a helical
line) :
xsp<-matrix(c(cos(seq(0,80)/5)),9,9)
ysp<-matrix(c(sin(seq(0,80)/5)),9,9)
zsp<-matrix(c((seq(0,80)/20)),9,9)
wireframe(zsp~xsp*ysp)

Status of Vorbis in Realplayer
Hi:
I'm working with an internet station. The station manager and I firmly
believe in Ogg Vorbis. We already run transcodes of the 56k MP3 stream so
modem listeners have the opportunity to hear stereo. We'd like to change
our primary stream to Vorbis ultimately, but that will involve overcoming
a number of challenges, not the least of which will be getting all the
broadcasters to

filter/exclude confusion ???
I am running rsync -avz from [A], to pull a directory from [B].
I want to _exclude_ several directories on [B] from being pulled across.
Since these directories have short names, I hope that I can either
specify them inline rsyncd.conf on [B]; or, inline to the CLI on [A].
I am confused with man rsyncd.conf, where the manpage states:
"it only applies on the daemon"
I have tried

Helix into Icecast2 loopback
Hello.
I've made some progress on the issue. I found a tool called TrPlayer which
is a text mode front end for real player - initially developed for the use
of the visually impaired. The theory is that I can use this and pipe the
live stream into vsound which then in turn is passed into ices or another
source client. Trouble is, I'm having all sorts of trouble compiling
Trplayer on the

Windows installer for Helix Vorbis & Theora plugins posted
Hi All,
I just posted Windows installer for the 0.5 release of the Helix Theora &
Vorbis plugins for RealPlayer 10/10.5 and RealOne Player. There are no code
changes from the 0.5 zip file that was posted earlier. I've just replaced the
zip file with an installer. You can get the installer at

Poisson Regression
Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask if there is an R-package to fit the following Poisson
regression model
log(\lambda_{ijk}) = \phi_{i} + \alpha_{j} + \beta_{k}
i=1,\cdots,N (subjects)
j=0,1 (two levels)
k=0,1 (two levels)
treating the \phi_{i} as nuinsance parameters.
Thank you very much

timeout in data send/receive ???
We have two (2) servers on a LAN, backup [A] and tjg1 [B]. We want to
PUSH file synchronization from [B] to [A]. We are repeatedly this

Google has not been kind; nor have the archives to this list.
Perhaps, I am ignorant of the appropriate search criteria?
There are other interesting facts:

How do I run a 32 bit windows game on a 64 bit ubuntu machine?
My favorite operating system is Ubuntu Linux.
My favorite game is Soldier of Fortune 2 which runs on Microsoft Windows.
I tried wine about 5 years ago and it totally corrupted my system.
I partitioned my hard drive into 2, C: and D:
I installed Windows XP on C: and Ubuntu 9 on D:.

Maybe another and easier way would be to implement the ogg vorbis
format in Real Networks "open sourced" Helix streaming server

package "plotrix"
I installed package plotrix because reading its vignette it looks like it can help me solve a "legend" problem.
The package instaleed correctly on my Mac OS/X 10.5.8
But I cannot reproduce the examples centered on function "lgendg".

Winamp & Foobar2k are not major media players. I think around 70% of
all users either use Windows Media Player or the RealOne player.
Neither of which can play Vorbis streams, and this is a major hurdle in
the acceptance of Vorbis streaming. I keep telling people that plugins

Stream Phone Call: Sound on Consule OSS to Helix server?
Hello,
I am working on a project for a client of mine, that involves streaming
an incoming phone call. I have a lot of experience with Linux, but
something that I have never attempted is using sound under Linux, as all
my machines have been servers.
Here is the plan, is it doable?
The client (a minor league baseball team) calls in to a iconnecthere.com
phone number, and Asterisk answers (this
