Disabling stock firewall and SELinux for ISPConfig
I have been reading a tutorial on configuring and securing a CentOS 6.2 machine: http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-centos-6.2-x86_64-with-apache2-ispconfig-3-p3 This tutorial bases the configuration on an application called ISPConfig. I am not sure that I like the idea of disabling the stock firewall and SELinux as the tutorial suggests, even with all the troubles that SELinux has given me

web based vacation frontend
Hi, One customer has Centos 5 installed. He wants to have a web based frontend to the vacation program because he is in charge to enable the vacation msg for all the users in leave. I tried webmin but the webmin vacation module points to a nonexistant link. And the usermin module is very old and requires the user to do it by themselves. Suggestions? --

My dovecot is currently configured to authenticate vs. a userdb/passdb passwd-file that contains, for each user: username:passhash:5000:5000::/path/to/home::userdb_mail=/path/to/maildir Is it possible to let users authenticate and change their passwords? There are some webmail client add-ons that allow such things if users are system accounts or in a

Finding perl-MIME-Base64
I am told by yum localinstall that I need this for TinyCA2. When I search for it, it seems like it SHOULD be part of basic perl package, but it is hard to argue with yum on dependencies.....

using posfix on the local LAN, with internet FQDN
Hi all, I hope someone can help me with this please. One of our clients has an in-house Postfix mailserver which basically downloads mail for the individual users from our mail server hosted on the web using fetchmail. They use our SMTP server to send mail. Their email clients are then setup to get & send mail from the server, on 192.168.2.254 (for POP3 & SMTP). All mail between them

ISPConfig & local administration
Hi list, I recently installed a package for Centos5.2 called ISPConfig. This was recommended by a buddy of mine who hosts a number of websites for various clients. Although I don't host any websites except my own, there were some features in the package that I did like the looks of. Well, today, I needed to add a new user and group, so while the machine was sitting here, I

IMAP Dovecot with ISPConfig and shared folders?
Fedora 5, postfix, dovecot, ISPConfig server all running well, (don't want to break it) LOL. But, I do not have IMAP shared folders. These instructions on dovecot tell of how to setup namespace to be able to get shared folders. http://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedFolders But given everything is relative in ISPConfig, not sure if this is possible or if I could really mess things up. What tells

I'm moving to IMAP and trying to understand all the details of where to save email. The system is CentOS running sendmail - procmail which delivers as: DEFAULT=$HOME/Maildir/ I'm trying also to use Usermin as the webmail client. I can get mail to deliver to $HOME/Maildir/ and I can get clients (thunderbird outlook etc) to view them. However Usermin seems stuck with saving

Hi all, I'm following a how-to for ISPConfig using CentOS5.1 and have run into the following instruction: ----- Dovecot uses Maildir format (not mbox), so if you install ISPConfig on the server, please make sure you enable Maildir under Management -> Server -> Settings -> Email.
