centosplus + priority plugin
I have a Centos 4 box that has been updated all the way to 4.6 without using the centosplus repository. Now I want to use the centosplus repository for Centos 4 to get the latest LAMP, mod_perl, perl and other perl modules so that I can install rt 3.6.6 and its necessary modules. However, for some reason, the latest perl package in the centosplus repository does not appear on the radar when

One of my servers is complaining with this error now that I have updated to CentOS 4.4. I am now running postfix-2.2.10-1.RHEL4.2.mysql_pgsql.c4 from the centosplus repository. I had been running postfix-2.1.5-4.2.RHEL4.mysql.centos4 from the centosplus repository. I also have the following MySQL related packages installed: mysql-devel-5.0.22-1.centos.1 pam_mysql-0.6.0-1

tripwire
Tripwire is probably one of must-have utilities for many system administrators. However, it is missing from almost all recent Red Hattish distributions. IMO, probably due to the fact that source compiles only on i386, and needs patches to compile almost every time new major version of gcc is released. However, in absence of good replacement, this is all we have. (IMO, other tools such as AIDE

Centos 4.0 updates repo & local repository creation
Hello all I used Centos 4.0 iso to setup my systems and updated till date. I assume they are equivalent to systems created with Centos 4.4 Now, I am planning to setup a full local repository of Centos updates, extras, centosplus etc. (not isos...as I intend to download isos only when Centos 5 becomes available. Please advise what directories I should download for my local repository, as the

Missing latest kmod-xfs and kmod-drbd82?
Since December there have been several kernel updates to the centosplus repository for centos4... but no updates to kmod-xfs or kmod-drbd82. Latest kernel is 2.6.9-78.0.13.plus.c4, but latest kmod-xfs is 2.6.9_78.0.5.plus.c4. Latest drbd82 kmod is also for 78.0.5. I know there was a mention on the list that these modules are not kernel dependent anymore... but yum and rpm seem to indicate

Why are all repos < 5.6 listed?
Greetings all. I just enabled all repos on my system, to enable me to find a particular package. This is the first time I have noticed all the Centos repos < 5.6 being listed. Is this a new feature, to include all repos pre 5.6 now? Here's the output of the aforementioned yum command - sorry it's a little bit long: [root at karsites ~]# yum --enablerepo '*' --disablerepo

centosplus kernel packages and compiler versions
I just installed the updated kernel packages for centos 4.4 from the centosplus repository. When I run vmware-config.pl to rebuild the vmware modules, it warns me that the kernel was compiled with gcc 3.4.6, whereas my compiler is gcc 3.4.5, and recommends that I not rebuild the modules unless I have exactly the same compiler version. I ignored this and built the modules anyway and they work

4.4 update quits unexpectedly
After 2 good updates to 4.4, my 3rd is giving me trouble. I did all 3 installs the same: yum clean all yum update python-sqlite sqlite yum yum clean all yum upgrade This one, however, quits during the header download. I get "[Errno -1] Header not complete, trying another mirror", then "[Errno 256] No more mirrors to try". I am not going thru a proxy, and I can't find

PostgreSQL 8.2?
I've been using RPMs for PG 8.1 from CentosPlus for some time now. I've been very happy with them, and they've been wonderfully stable. http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/centosplus/x86_64/RPMS/ But now 8.2 is out. Are there any plans to support PG 8.2 in CentosPlus, or should I go ahead with RPMS directly from PG?

[CSL #301925] centosplus kernel xfs patches and CVE-2006-1855
Hi All, we've run into a problem with the xfs component in the centosplus kernel (2.6.9-34.106.unsupportedsmp) where synchronous writes sometimes fail with EAGAIN. It's causing headaches for DB2 installs and for our database research group. There is a fix reported at: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-xfs&m=110808122904352&w=2 ...that's supposed to take care of

question on "yum --enablerepo=centos "
I'm installing Fruity for Nagios using the 4.4 Single Server CD and want to force upgrade PHP 4 to PHP 5 without having to upgrade everything on CentOSplus. In order to install Nagios, I have to first enable RPMforge. However, to use Fruity, I have to use PHP 5, which isn't included in the RPMforge repository, unless I enable CentOSplus and yum update/upgrade everything (which I did

firefox 1.0.3 for CentOS-3/s390(x)
Hi, Merged the XOS Team fixes for firefox 1.0 and made a CentOS-3 version of few hours ago released CentOS-4 update. The CentOS-3 version is actually only .spec file mod from CentOS-4, so it should be pretty much same. ... that is IF someone is crazy enought to run firefox under hercules or real iron - at least you can as the binary is available :) s390:
