STUN server from Vovida
Not sure if it's alright to talk about this here???
compiled the STUN server from Vovida on RedHat 7.3. Looks simple to
configure. It isn't starting...it tries to for a long time and then just
craps out. Here is my config:/etc/sysconfig/stund
#!/bin/echo Not to execute.
# Path to stund
STUND=/usr/sbin/stund

winbind problems with linux domain member
Hey everyone,
I'm having some strange responses, and a bit of trouble with getting
access to a member server on my domain. I've got Samba running on
another Linux box as a PDC, and my Win2k clients can login just fine,
and share between one another. The problem comes in with another
Linux workstation that's setup as a member server.
Here's the relevant smb.conf section from the

Help avoiding setting column type two times
Hi,
I think and hope this a good place to ask for code review for a R

I have made a R script which generates a dataset based on 2009 danish
referendum and it does work.
But I think the code could be better and I would any comments how the
code can be improved.
At least I would like to know how I avoid converting several of the
columns to factors in the end of the code?

prop.table on three-way table?
Dear list,
I am trying to create a three-way table with percent occurrence

SER vs STUND with Asterisk..
One for the gurus..
I have seen there has been a lot of discussion about using SER with
Asterisk.. This to me seemed like an over kill becasue it would
basically be doing most of what Asterisk is doing anyway unless you
create some weird and wonderful config in SER..
Anyway, I decided to go and have a quick read through the SER docs and
in the section about NAT they say that the best way to

core dump during make check when building 64-bit R on Solaris8/9
Hi,
After reading some of the posting in this list, I came across this
posting from:

Replying to Re: [R] Errors during make check
He described a problem similar to mine, that build 64-bit R (I am
building R version 2.0.1) with sunperf library gives a core dump during
make check. So I configured my

Keeping track of occurrence of warning message
Hi there,
I am interested if there is anyway to keep track of the occurrence of
warning message.
I know that warnings will only be printed out at the end of the program
if warn=0. However I am also interested at which particular set of data
does the warnings occur too. This is because I am running 1000 data, so
if there are 2 or 3 data that give warnings, I would like to know which
are the ones

STUN with one public and one private IP?
I'm finishing up deploying an Asterisk (Trixbox) box at work. Wow, I
thought Asterisk was cool by itself, but Trixbox has made just about
everything turnkey. Great stuff!
So... we're using Grandstream GXP-2000 handsets to connect to the Trixbox,
which sits on our DMZ with a single public IP. I need the phones to work
from random places behind NAT, as well as in the office. I'm using

Problem with 3.08 under VMWare
Hi,
I previously had extlinux 3.07 booting off a VMWare SCSI disk fine. After
upgrading to 3.08, the system seem to hang after the EXTLINUX
welcome/copyright message, even before the boot: prompt appears.
Verified that downgrading back to 3.07 is fine, re-upgrading to 3.08 hangs
again.
Any ideas what might be wrong? Thanks.

Documentation discrepancies
In my continued attempt to get winbindd working on a simple domain, I
decided to go through the documentation in more detail, searching for
some possibly hidden clues. In doing so I came across some
instruction that left me a little confused...

Samba vs Windows SAK
Has anyone seen this:

And has anyone from the Samba team posted a response? It seems like some of
the information presented there is contrary to what I know about Samba.

grandstream and stun
Hi,
I noticed some issues with how grandstream handles
stun test. GS is running version 1.0.4.50. First I
reset the NAT router. Then reboot GS, get results of
"restricted cone". Immediately reboot GS, get results
"full cone". I tried quite a few public and commercial
stun servers. Also tried different model/version of
linksys routers. I always got the same issue. Winstun

chown on smbfs doesn't work ??
Hi,
I have a Network Storage Device mounted as smbfs. When I transfer data
using rsync, the permission of files transferred changes automatically
to 502.501.
I couldn't even issue a command chown. The error message said that
"changing ownership of `thisfile': Operation not permitted
Can someone please advise me to get around with this problem?

Asterisk Documentation
Dare I ask?
I'm new to Asterisk. I like what it has to offer, however, I'm having a hard time finding documentation to configure it correctly.
Can anyone tell me where I can get good Asterisk documents? Here's what I have put together:

Public Apology to Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Singapore
I was misconstrued as having insulted Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. My
words were twisted and misinterpreted and I feel that there is a need to
explain myself and set the record straight.

It was sometime in Aug/Sep in the year 2009. The setting was in the
