regression tests still fail for R version 2.10.0
Hello,
on Mon Nov 9 17:57:04 CET 2009 I've sent
an e-mail to the R mailing list (see below),
about a failing regression test. Yet nobody
replied, while (obviously) the situation didn't
change (installation still fails, and might
continue to do so in the future).
I wonder whether somebody has to say something here?
Shall a bug report be submitted?
Or will R 2.10.1 have fixed the bug?

this works here on x86-64 ubuntu 8.10. I took a look in my libgfortran.a
and it doesn't reference any of the symbols you mention.

Broken installer (PR#14083)
Full_Name: Robert A. Weller
Version: current
OS: Mac OS 10.6
Submission from: (NULL) (129.59.140.86)
The gfortran 4.2.4 installer in the Tools section that is supposed to install a
Snow Leopard (10.6) version is actually installing version 4.2.1. I am finding
that the 4.2.1 compiler installed as issues e.g. in interpreting the
-fno-automatic command line switch and also -fdefault-real-8.

Hi Duncan,
Thanks for your answers. Compiling .s file is OK after adding the -lgfortran

R linux install: FORTRAN compiling error
Hello,
I have basic familiarity with Unix but by most standards a novice. I am
trying to install R on a linux machine and am following the instructions in
the R install and admin guide in terms of what is required to compile the R
source code. I downloaded R version 2.11.1 and extracted the files into my
home directory. I realize I need a FORTRAN compiler to help with this
process and have

errors when installing packages (ubuntu)
Hi List,
I'm having problems installing certain packages. When I try to install
fields, I get the output below. I have highlighted the what I perceive as
the first error (spam seems to be a dependency of fields). Can I assume this
is causing dependency problems for fields, which fails to install at the
end, or is there a deeper problem? I run Ubuntu Karmic Koala on R 2.9.2.

[LLVMdev] gfortran: link error building gfortran on linux
Hi, in trying to build an llvm-gfortran on linux from today's gcc4
SVN, I get the following link errors that didn't show up on OS X. This
is also using LLVM CVS from this morning.
They appear to mostly be related to CodeWarrior compatibility code,
but a couple are less obvious.
What's the best way to fix this? I'm stuck without my powerbook for at
least three weeks and I'd
