Lattice plots for images
Hello UseRs,
I need help on how to plot several raster images (such as those obtained
from a kernel-smoothed intensity function) in a layout
such as that obtained from the lattice package. I would like to obtain
something such as obtained from using the "levelplot" or "xyplot"
in lattice. I currently use:
>par(mfrow=c(3,3)
to set the workspace, but the resulting plots

Spatstat Tessellation error
Hello R Users,
I am trying to do a quadrat count defined by covariate properties in
spatstat. I have read my elevation raster into R (from ascii) and converted
to class "im" for use in spatstat.
Now I have point data of class "ppp" which window is the same extent as the
elevation image. I can conveniently plot the image and the points on the
image as follows:

Vignette problem and CRAN policies
Hello, All:
The vignette with the sos package used "upquote.sty", required for R
Journal when it was published in 2009. Current CRAN policy disallows
"upquote.sty", and I've so far not found a way to pass "R CMD check"
with sos without upquote.sty.
I changed sos.Rnw per an email exchange with Prof. Ripley without
solving the problem; see below. The

Spatstat rmh function error message
Hello,
I have fitted a Poisson Process model in spatstat using
>fit1<-ppm(points, ~elevation, covariates=list(elevation=elevation.im))
This far, everything went well, but I try to simulate the fitted model using
the function:
>sim1<-rmh(fit1)
But I get the error message:

add-on package/windows installation probLem
Hi,
I have tried to download the bootstrap.tar.gz from the website below:
http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/Old/0.50/INDEX.html
I have extracted the folder to a zip file...and then use the load packages from local zip files.
I use R2.0.0.0 and windows NT, i get the error:
1: error -1 in extracting from zip file
2: cannot open file `bootstrap/DESCRIPTION'

Spatstat - Kest, envelope problem
Hello,
I am writing cause I have a problem when try to create confidence envelopes
in spatstat.
I have a point data representing firms in my study area.
When I try to create confidence envelopes the error message turns up:
[> p <- envelope(point, fun=Kest, nsim=99)
Error in marks.ppp(Y, dfok = FALSE) :
Sorry, not implemented when the marks are a data frame]
Could you write me how can I

Spatstat - envelope, Thomas process and Cramer-von Mises
Hi all,
I am using "spatstat" to investigate the spatial structure of some plant
populations, and I want to detect these patters with IPP and a Thomas
process based on pair-correlation function. I know the function "pcfinhom"
is available to characterize the IPP, but I have no idea about how to use
the pcf with Thomas process? Additionally, generating simulation envelopes

envelopes of simulations
Hello!
I am writing you because I could not plot the confidence envelopes for
functions Jest, Jcross, Jdot, Jmulti, and L, using the Spatstat package.
I have already understood how to do that for Kest or Jest, that is:
JEnv <- plot(envelope(PPPData, Jest))
Where PPPData is my ppp object.
However, for Jcross I must specify the two marks I want to analyse.
That is, usually I would get the

sshd can't access user files
Hi
We have detected a problem in sshd when trying to access user files in
order to authenticate a user via public key.
In our system, each unix group has a separate home directory with 0750
permissions owned by root.group, therefore a user can access his home
directory thanks to his group ownership.
After installing OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 on this system we noticed that public

Nuisance parameters for Geyer Saturation process.
Hello group,
Can someone please put me through how to estimate the nuisance parameters
(Saturation parameter and radius) for the Geyer saturation process?
It seems quite confusing to me how these parameters are achieved, but they
are very important in determining the interaction between points in a point
process.
I am using Spatstat package.
Thanks.

Spatstat: Mark correlation function
I normally use the following code to create a figure displaying the mark
correlation function for the point pattern process "A":
M<-markcorr(A)
plot(M)
I have now started to use the following code to perform 1000 Monte Carlo
simulations of Complete Spatial Randomness (CSR). It is a Monte Carlo test
based on envelopes of the Mark correlation function obtained from simulated

envelope in spatstat
Hi R users,
This query is regarding the use of the 'envelope' function in Spatstat.
My data can be represented as a point process with CONTINUOUS marks:
points <- ppp(x=x,y=y, marks=m, window= wind)
However the marks are alignments (lines), and so have to be treated
differently to normal scalar marks. Hence to create a mcf object with the
appropriate test function for alignment

Rhelp: Need help interpreting plots in spatstat
Hello everybody--
I have been playing with my data in spatstat, and what I'd like to
present is a basic exploratory spatial analysis. I have used the
following code, using a ppp.object called tsdspoints. The code
develops the simulations and the envelopes I want, but I don't
understand my first plot here, the [tsds.ghat.short$r,
tsds.ghat.short$raw]...I cobbled together this code

Two envelopes problem
A friend of mine came to me with the two envelopes problem, I hadn't
heard of this problem before and it goes like this: someone puts an
amount `x' in an envelope and an amount `2x' in another. You choose one
envelope randomly, you open it, and there are inside, say ?10. Now,
should you keep the ?10 or swap envelopes and keep whatever is inside
the other envelope? I told my friend

SpatStat Kest - Error Message help
Hi I'm working with the function Kest in the package SpatStat (under LINUX
with R 2.1.0). In order to evaluate the statistical significance of my
point pattern I'm doing 999 Montecarlo replications. The script that use
the Kest function runs OK for most of the different point patterns that I
have but for a particular point pattern, which have only 17 points, it
runs until the 34th

Which function in R package "Spatstat" can help me to get the Cramer-von Mises statistic
Hi all,
When I detect the spatial point pattern, I want to use the Cramer-von Mises
statistic to assess the curve-wise significance of deviations from null
hypotheses. Who can tell me which function in R package "Spatstat" can do
this work?
Thanks a lot

Problem loading spatstat.
I upgraded to R version 2.6.0 yesterday; now I find that I can't load
spatstat.
I re-installed spatstat (that part seemed to work without complaint)
but when
I execute
> library(spatstat)
I get the error message
Error in dyn.load(file, ...) :
