R's text mining package VSM support
I have been using R's text mining package and its really a great tool. I have not found retrieval support or maybe there are functionalities I am missing. How can a simple VSM model be implemented using the R's text mining package? Your help is appreciated. -- Research Scholar, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering Purdue University West Lafayette IN web.ics.purdue.edu/~sgrao

R and Hadoop Integrated Processing Environment - RHIPE
Hello, We have created an interface between R and Hadoop so that the user can, after a fashion, interact with very large datasets using the Map Reduce programming model. We also use IBM's TSpaces to implement a shared memory implementation that can be accessed via R(somewhat like networkspaces). RHIPE uses Rserve to execute R code. Some of the functions implemented are: mrlapply - run

Repost: Expressions returned by GlobalEnv functions and package functions
Hello, (Sorry for the repost, i am resending in plain text) I have a function 'ewrap' (see below for definition). It takes 3 expressions and returns another expression e.g. map <- ewrap({ len <- length(r$addon) rhcollect(len,1) }) becomes: expression({ NULL result <- mapply(function(.index, k, r) { { len <- length(r$addon)

It is not clear about importing a plain text file, and them converting that text file into TermDocMatrix file, etc to me. How can I build a TermDocMatrix of " a plain text document file for text association? Or are there any good manuals? Thank you in advance, -- Kum-Hoe Hwang, Ph.D.

non-english text mining with tm package
Hello, I'm having issues working with the tm package on non-english languages. are there any extensions that enable the package to work with Hebrew (and other non-roman letter languages for that matter) ? (e.g. although I can construct a Corpus that shows the hebrew documents alright, I cannot create a term-document matrix (it does not identify any of the hebrew words, so it thinks there

Help using "tm" text mining package - preprocessing
Thanks all for your help. I fear text mining is an abstract little corner of "R". I have imported 3228 text (.txt) files, each a news story, into R using [tm]: textd <- Corpus(DirSource("other/docs"), readerControl = list(reader =readPlain)) I can pre-process each individual document using tolower(textd[[1]]) however, when I try to run tmTolower() I get a no such command

PyPI package keeps upgrading/installing
I''m having a problem with a pypi package/the pip provider. The package name is riak_pb https://pypi.python.org/pypi/riak_pb/. The problem I''m having is puppet keeps installing/upgrading the package every run. I suspect it has something to do with the hyphen/underscore. I have also tried changing the riak_pb package name in the init.pp to riak-pb. The pypi API

Unable to execute Java MapReduce (Hadoop) code from R using rJava
Hi All, I have written a Java MapReduce code that runs on Hadoop. My intention is to create an R package which will call the Java code and execute the job. Hence, I have written a similar R function. But when I call this function from R terminal, the Hadoop job is not running. Its just printing few lines of warning messages and does nothing further. Here is the execution scenario: *>

Doing weird bouncing of IAX trunk calls on purpose
Ok, so this might seem weird, but hang with me on this. I have two sites, Indy and Lafayette that each have their own Asterisk server. They each have their own outside PRI line. They are also trunked internally via and IAX tunnel over a private fiber line. I've recently been asked to have the calls incoming to Indy, forwarded to a group in Lafayette (only during the day, so can't be

RGDAL OGRwrite question
I have a quick question: It appears that in rgdal v0.7-12 (R version 2.15.1, OSX 10.6.8) writeOGR will not write a shapefile the the current directory. Is this correct? An earlier version of rgdal must have allowed this because I have a older script that used to work, but doesn't now. So, as an example, here is what I get today: > shape = readOGR('.',
