Embed function strips out date index
Hi, I'm having especially hard time today and couldn't find any clue/answer through the internet. ?I hope you can help. I'm in a process of writing a script to estimate error correction model, and I was following an example in Bernhard Pfaff's Analysis of Integrated and Cointegrated Time Series with R. ?I have the following price data: > head(series,15) ?? ? ? ? ? Displaying "homogeneous groups" in aov post-hoc results ?
Hello dear R-help mailing list, A friend of mine teaches a regression and experimental design course and asked me the following question. She is trying to find a way to display the "homogeneous groups" (after performing tukey test on an aov object). here's an example for what she means by "homogeneous groups": She did one way anova and got these results for tukey test:

aggrete data from combination
Dear R users, A have a dataframe (matrix) with two collumns (plot, and diameter (d)). I want all diameters values for different combination of plots. For example I want all d values for all posible combination, 100C2 (all d values for plot 1 with all d values in the plot 2.......with all d values from plot 1 with all d values from plot 100, ...... with all d values from plot 99 with all d values

aggregate combination data
Hello, I'm cc'ing R-Help. Sorry but your question was asked 3.5 years ago, I really don't remember it. Can you please post a question to R-Help, with a reproducible example that describes your problem? Rui Barradas ? Cropped graph using lattice
I'm fitting data from a mixture experiment, and I'd like to present the results in a ternary graph with contours. I found this code by Walmes Zeviani http://n4.nabble.com/Triangular-filled-contour-plot-td1557386.html which is just what I want--except I would like the axis titles and labels to be proportionately larger than the ternary graph itself, for legibility in publication. When I

changing cex pointwise in lattice
Dear R-users, I have tried, and I imagine it should be somewhere in the lines of passing extra arguments to the panel function, but does anyone know how to change the character expansion factor that is affecting an individual point in each of the panels of a lattice plot? I have tried to pass an overall cex argument containing the desired size for each point, but then the sizes are reused for the

KVM guest fails to boot cleanly
I have a KVM vm running CentOS-6.8 on a host also running CentOS-6.8. This instance is used for occasional development projects which require segregation. Thus it is seldom accessed. At some point in the recent past this guest developed an issue with starting. Specifically these messages were found in the system log files: /var/log/messages-20170312:Mar 10 16:31:06 vhost04 kernel: dracut:

Calculating mean for a number of columns
Dear all, I am attempting to perform what should be a relatively simple calculation on a number of data frame columns. I am hoping to find the average on a per-row basis for each of the 50 columns. If on a particular row a 'NA' value is encountered, then this should be ignored and the mean formed on the basis of the other rows. However, I'm finding that the end result for each row

ordering of factor levels in regression changes result
I was surprised to find that just changing the base level of a factor variable changed the number of significant coefficients in the solution. I was surprised at this and want to know how I should choose the order of the factors, if the order affects the result. Here is the small example. It is taken from 'The R Book', Crawley p. 365. The data is at

datetime on x-axis of plot
Hello, I'm reading Time Series Analysis and its Applilcations with R Examples and I have a question... I notice that in the book there are timeseries plots but without the x-axis being labeled with dates. They are just numbers 1,...50,...100, etc. How do I get the date to show up on the x-axis? Here is my dateframe: > head(myData, 5) 1 2008-01-30 08:30 7.00 2

rcspline.plot query
Dear all, As I am new to the R community - although eager to advance- I would like to pose a question to the community. I have an SPSS file which I have imported it in R (with the read.spss command) which conists of scale (continuous) variable "adiponectin" and the corresponding categorical value "death" (0=No, 1=Yes). In all there are 60 observations (among which

(no subject)
I am wrestling with the following in creating a barplot in R: I have a data set with 18 entries. It is plotted in a bargraph. The x-axis should have 18 tick marks each with its own label. What happens is, only a few labels are shown; there is not enough space for all labels. The tick marks are concentrated on the left side of the axis. I'd like to have all labels shown, in vertical direction.

extracting values conditonal on other values
Dear R helpers, I have a dataframe (test1) containing the time of sunrise and sunset for each day of the year for 3 years. I have another dataframe (test2) containing measurements that are taken every 15 minutes, 24/7. I would like to extract all rows from test2 that occur between sunrise and sunset for the appropriate date. Can you suggest a good vectorized way to do this? Keep in mind

starting values for lmer fixed effects
Hi, Is there a way to provide starting values for the fixed effects in lmer()? I'd like to fit the following model, which requires starting values in the glm.fit() part of the code: lmer(dbh.sum ~ Treatment + (1|Site), nets, gaussian("log"), subset=Treatment!="sforest" & iocTreat!="forest") I tried tinkering with the code but I couldn't figure out the
